  1. http://www.oceanspray.co.uk/highjuice/ Free samples available whilst stocks last. Might help quench your thist at forthcoming events []
  2. Looks good to me, especially since it's lightweight and has function over style. Good to see another "local" car in the 10s, and hopefully you'll continue to clean up in the sprints this year! maybe see you at KH on the 19th if you can make it along ? John
  3. Craig, banners and flags went back down south with Spooks last Sunday. They are available to be used at any event, and generally we work out in advance where they are going to be used next, and that person takes them home with them. If someone is coming up from the Edinburgh area to ABZ this weekend and collect from Spooks, then there won't be any problem in using them [] John
  4. Would he be interested in coming along to Knockhill on the 19th August for example, i we could guarantee him a few cars worth of work. They have done this down south where they get people along who charge a heavily discounted rate on the day (as they don't have to travel between cars all day and waste half their time!), and the discounted rate means that lots more people are interested. If a good job is done, then word of mouth soon works wonders and he gets lots more business. John
  5. It was all re-arranged at short notice, as most of the regulars couldn't make it next week (including myself). Absolutely nothing to stop everyone having another meeting on the 8th as well though [] John
  6. []
  7. It is possible, but needs a lot of work. To get a good pedal response, you'll also need the servo/master cylinder set-up from an STi as well, otherwsie you'll get a long pedal most of the time. John
  8. I wouldn't give up, the finish on your car was superb! It's by doing events like this that you find out the differences between the cars, and the litle differences that count. Next time I'm sure you'll have the wheels spotless on the inside and out, inner wheel arches all clean/dressed. As mentioned on the other thread, I never spotted any dings in your car at around 3:30/4pm when looking at the cars with Rich, so it can only have happened after that (not so many people around), or on the way home. Hope it's easy/quick/cheap to sort out. John
  9. Sorry to hear that. I certainly never spotted any dinks or dents in your doors when looking at the car closely with Rich for the show and shine, as that was about 3:30 - 4pm(ish). Car was looking stunning. John
  10. [] Was a bit upset to hear this. Made an announcement over the PA system, but assume that they didn't return to make a donation. They may not even be a Subaru/local owner, as the event was open to all members of the public, but we'll keep our eyes open. John
  11. It was indeed very nice! Narrowly missed out on a shown and shine trophy as well. Standards were very high, so Rich went had to look at minor details such as insides of wheels, exhaust tip, inside of arches etc to help separate the cars [] John
  12. Well, the weather was fantastic again today as always at Alford, and we had a great turn-out of cars. The day was a huge success, with everyone seeming to enjoy themselves hugely, and quite a few will be nursing some sunburn tonight. Firstly, a huge word of thanks to those who helped make the day all possible: Grampian Transport Museum for having such a great venue that we can use for our annual event. Ken and Catherine for helping me set-up everything yesterday afternoon. Rosie and Imy for doing such a fantastic job at the gate! Spooks, Ken, Rob, Jools (plus his boys!) and the others who helped out with the marshalling, timekeeping, collecting and setting up the PA system. Spooks and Rosie for bring up the banners and flags etc. Rich from Polished Bliss for offering lots of advice on cleaning and looking after your car, and offering everyone a 10% discount on the day off their normal prices. Rich also did the judging for the show and shine competition as well, which was very close between about 4 cars, and it was down to fine details differences between them to identify the winners. THe standard was exceptionally high this year! All the owners of the cars, for having them look so fantastic, and for many making a long journey to get there. Hopefully you'll have founf it well worth the effort to get there. And lastly for all of you who stayed behind at the end to help us tidy up the area, putting away the fencing etc. Fastest time of the day on track went to Rob Doyle driving Jools' car, with a 64.3 second run towards the end of the day. We've raised an amazing total of £730 for the Santa Cruise fund [][] We've also raised enough (£320 after deducting the PA hire costs) from the track participants to completely fund next year's event, and go a long way toward the cost of hiring the official timing equipment for next year, which will mean next year's event will also be free [] This is despite the huge increase in insurance costs to run this event. We look forward to seeing everyone there again next year, for an even bigger and better event. I'm sure there will be lots of excellent photos and videos to come [] John
  13. I'm aiming to be out at Alford around 2 - 2:30pm this afternoon to help get everything set-up for tomorrow's event. I'll need some assistance in carrying and setting up the orange safety fencing, setting up the PA system (Jools is hopefully collecting today), and some artistic brushwork (cleaning any stones off the track with a big brush []). Last year we got it all set-up in an hour or so, with about 4 or 5 people helping. Many hands make light work, and with more people, the quicker we get it all done. Hope a few of the locals can make it along to assist. Cheers John
  14. Nope - nothing required!
  15. have safely arrived in Aberdeen [] Very nice they are too, and well worth winning There are 4 categories in total up for grabs. Best Classic, Best Newage, Best Modified, and Best of Show. Weather is looking superb, so time to dig out that polish/wax etc, and get yourself entered (there's no charge!!) Judging will take place around 1pm (to give those travelling some distance plenty of time to prepare their cars to perfection), and will be done by Rich from Polished Bliss who will also have a stand at the show. Rich will have a variety of products with him (which you could possibly try on your own car), and might even be able to give demos using his Porter Cable polishing kit when he hasn't got his own car out on track. See you all there. John
  16. As long as it's after about 2:30pm, then you can put my name down. I'll be at Knockhill in the morning where we've got the track booked from 9am to 1pm. Will be some convey back to the karting me thinks []
  17. Dave, karting event sounds like a grand idea to me! Unfortunately, due to work holidays, etc, it would probably be late September or mid October before I can make it, but could combine it with the next KH event (after 19th August), which is on 7th October. Got two weeks in Indonesia planned for early September. John
  18. Welcome back Dave, thought you had been a bit quiet lately! John
  19. Superb idea, and gets our full support []
  20. Knockhill on Saturday 19th August []
  21. Rob, going to check the timing today. If you can arrange/set-up the PA system again that would be superb! John PS Why go all the way out to Insch on the boring/busy dual carriageway. Much better to turn off and go out via Kemnay, Monymusk and then Alford. Would save about 20 minutes and give you some more interesting roads to drive along ?
  22. Starts at about 10am, and will go onto about 4pm
  23. Can anyone help out Paul at Knockhill tomorrow ? John http://bbs.22b.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?...t=004139#000006
  24. I'd say Glenburgie. Nice people to deal with, and should have most parts available. John Stevenson is heading there today with a van/trailer, so if you need any parts delievered to the Central belt area, then get in touch with him. he's probably en-route as we speak though. John
  25. RCMS do some nice bits of kit.
