Good news Neil, Mine's about the same age as yours i guess, '98. I needed 2 tyres, pretty good going for cars of that age. I have a double catted centre section made up, 15 minute job to get it mot ready

I had 3 cars before i was old enough to pass my test, first at age 8, an L reg fiat 500L, then a J reg Fiat 500L and finally a Datsun 100a, can't remember the year of it but i did tie up the front wishbone with berry wire after it snapped First car on the road was an Xreg Mk3 Escort in sienna red (brown) with white steel 8 spokes and those dangly conductors on the back bumper, just in case i got struck by lightning

I had a set on my classic a while back, they were by far the worst pads i've ever had on any car, huge amount of dust and horrible pedal feel. hope this helps. Kev

I was recently asked by my wifes friend, when was i going to grow out of this chavvy malarky, not very nice seeing as i'd picked them up after they'd had a day in the pub. So i proceeded to scare the sh*te out of her on the way up the road, i could hardly hear her scream over the noise of the exhaust. It'll be the last time she'll be in my car. I really don't care what people think of my car, i've had it 6 1/2 years now and certainly haven't had many negative comments.

You could be right about the noise, wouldn't have thought it'd be any more intrusive than the planes they had there though. Regarding the location ,i just figured they wouldn't get many coming from Edinburgh or Glasgow to it and without them would it be cost effective enough to run both sites and split what clientelle they have. The only time i've been on the strip was at Edzell, car was standard at the time and run a 14.1 i think in the p*ssing rain.

certainly seems plenty car for the money, i remember being in my old boss's XK8 when they were first out, nice car but it did feel a bit claustrophobic, the side windows seems very small. Planning issues or locals complaining i think. Have to agree it was a much better site for it although maybe not in the right area of the country to make money. I think they did bike racing there as well, not sure if that's still on.

Very personal choice mate, you'll get plenty folk on here that hate them and a fair few that love them. I put a full rally set on my classic last year and think they look great. Search for pics of your style of car and then decide whether you'll like kids hanging out of car windows to see you passing by

I've had them on my classic for 3ish years now with no problems, not sure the pads i'm using, think it's a mintex fast road/track one. Bought the discs from Wallace in Aberdeen.

Not used them Dale and i'm not likely to either, have heard to many bad stories about them before they took on the subaru dealership and it took 45 minutes to get me a price for gaskets, not impressed. And the spam email when they opened p*ssed me off too
