  1. £4-500 at a very rough guess. That should get you someone to deal with warrants etc. Have any of your neighbours done the same thing? you could ask them nicely and get a copy, then change the details.
  2. Very nice Jon, were you up my way too, there was a plane going round here a few times?
  3. Ah, just curious. I didn't realise there were different types, my kit does dip and main beam.
  4. Does this mean your kit doesn't have a full beam with the HiD?
  5. The lights themselves are are just standard crystal ones off the '99 onwards cars, which i have to say even with the standard bulb in it was a huge improvement over the morrettes. I'll have a look to see the make of the hid kit for you. My morrettes gave me nothing but grief, every mot they needed adjusted, last mot got an advisory for the corrosion of the lenses.
  6. What kind of camera did you use to take the picture of your camera?
  7. I've got the same setup in my car as the pic above, i'm sure mine was converted by Wuz on here. It has about 18" of wire added from the box, which i hid under my centre gauge pod.
  8. My mate has a saab and his lights are brilliant. Worst case for the classics would surely be sticking the standard bulbs in for mot. Worth that effort for the benefit of hid over standard
  9. Thanks Imy, it's the most popular car in the young lads playground
  10. I've just taken off my morrettes and put on crystal headlights with an hid kit. I ran the crystal lights with standard bulbs for a few weeks before putting the hid kit on and it makes a huge difference, as said before it's a much clearer light and nobody's flashed me yet for dazzling them. I've no idea what make it is, i bought it second hand,(cheers jonboy), took about half hour to fit.
  11. This one does it for me, couldn't find the thread with the pics though http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtop...;hl=tayside+run I've met loads of fine folk on here and been able to participate in whole heap of events that i certainly wouldn't have known anything about if it wasn't for scottishscoobies, keep it up folks
  12. Not likely. The construction is totally f*cked just now. Not just because of the recession, too many eastern europeans over here trying to be multi skilled and screwing up everything they do or the muppets who have done a 6 month course and all of a sudden are fully qualified tradesmen. Good luck Jon with whatever you go for.
  13. Aye whatever mate, one of these is looking more likely when i do eventually change, since the E55amg i'd really like is looking more and more unlikely after looking into the servicing costs (16 spark plugs) What are you driving now buddy?
  14. That's a bit p*sh, i'd really consider one of these next, but how is anybody supposed to know if it's been fixed or is ready to blow.
  15. My mate has a 9-3 aero convertible, it's an 05, he's had it from new. Nice enough car and reasonably quick, just a bit bland. It's a vectra underneath as well. I do like the saloons though.
  16. Has this been done on a recall basis? so you can be sure what you're buying is safe.
  17. Me either, what sort of time do you reckon you'll all be passing Dundee and i'll tag along?
  18. I thought the hatches have a problem with melting engines, or has this been cured now?
  19. Ach well. I just got it emailed to me today, made me laugh
  20. At COMDEX recently, Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, "If GM had kept up with the technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon." In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating: If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics: > 1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day. > 2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car. > 3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull over to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this. > 4. Occasionally, executing a manoeuvre such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine. > 5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive, but would run on only five percent of the roads. > 6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation" warning light. > 7. The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying. > 8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna. > 9. Every time a new car was introduced, car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again, because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car. > 10. Oh yeah, and last but not least . . . you'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off!
  21. Spotted it aswell, that road must be jinxed, i wrecked the work van there and had to park up on that bit of pavement too. Made sure i took all my tools out though
  22. I've no idea how much power my slightly modded uk classic has, below 300 anyway, but having been on plenty spirited runs following scoobs of all ages with loads more power than me, claimed more anyway . i've never had any problems keeping up, granted, as stated above they'll pull away a bit on the straights, but not enough to really make any difference. Also, i can be fairly confident in the fact that i'm not going to blow out a piston or shred my gearbox. I'm not saying people shouldn't have huge horsepower cars, there's some really impressive motors in here but on the real roads it doesn't make much odds.
  23. Are you sure? http://www.thefreedictionary.com/bestiality And i'm not from gayland
