  1. The downpipe is a pain to swap over just to swap back again after mot. I have heard of cars passing with just a standard catted centre section fitted if they're lucky. Best bet would be if anybody in your area has a double catted centre section made up you could borrow, doddle to swap over and back again after mot.
  2. Oh aye and the exige has now been moved up to sub zero on his bedroom cool wall
  3. Are you the guy with the exige? If you are, thanks for letting my son have a seat in it He was well impressed with it.
  4. Cheers mate, aye he's talking about giving up his football so we can go all the time Surely the point of going there is to get the best time possible and you're only gonna get that giving it some Plus that was the bairns favourite bit, the launch.
  5. Haha mate, that was a laugh. My son had a great time too. Might be back soon enough My quickest time of the day was a 13.298, which i think was decent enough for my mods (some stickers, some rust and a big exhaust) Kev Agreed that the sight of Colin's and Chris's cars taking off was pretty impressive
  6. What time will this be starting at?, i'm going to head down.
  7. That's what i was gonna say, or maybe a plumber. They're quite sensitive people too
  8. Think this would be a better bet for £6k ish http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1426810.htm
  9. I like the red, as long as the shade is the same as the stripe
  10. T'was probably Bob, he's not on here though. It's a lovely looking car. He came on the infamous Tayside run, think that probably scared him off.
  11. Works for me too A much more civilised mode of tranport. Used to have a PK100 sport, an american import apparently. Only available in green
  12. Tayside meets used to always be a Sunday evening, then moved to Tuesdays and now thursdays. It was moved about to suit people turning up and to try and get more folk there.
  13. Sorry Alan, might not have been too clear in my post. The new '99 hub has no place for a tone wheel, it must use a different way of sensing. My problems started with a knackered wheel bearing. I wrecked the end of the driveshaft seperating it all and the tone wheel fell to bits. Big'D', that sounds about right
  14. I have a my'98 UK turbo and have been trying to source front hub parts, more specifically a tone wheel and a driveshaft. I've been told there are only 2 types. With abs and without. The hub i have, has a toothed wheel that sits behind the disc and is fixed to the hub with allen bolts (the tone wheel). I assume the non abs version won't have this or any wiring to it? I've just taken delivery of a front hub off a uk99 car. i was told it had the abs sensor. It has wiring but it doesnt have a tone wheel. I'm sure it'll fit on the car but will the abs system work? I don't want to put it all on the find out it it'll not work properly. Any ideas folks? thanks Kev
  15. I'm liking that. 'tis the new song stuck in my head for this week, replacing the theme from the Cleveland show.
  16. Yup. Biggest difference being where the power comes in and lasts due to the different turbos. The suspension is a bit stiffer and short shift gearing. The thing is i've now got that P1 turbo fitted to mine along with some sti6 typeR v limited suspension, so in summary UK all the way Hindsight being the great thing that it is, i'd probably have bought an import, would've saved me puting a load of jap bits on mine, but when i bought it, it cost me £12.5k and i wanted a dealer warranty at that time thought all imports were dodgy (why would anybody buy an import when you can get exactly the same car in the uk, hindsight again ) In fairness though, surely with regards to classics, you could only compare a uk turbo with a jdm wrx and not an sti. Or a P1 to a typeR.
  17. I'm kinda the same as yourself, about 6 miles from the exchange, i'm the last one on the line. Bt wouldn't provide broadband but i forced the issue and they eventually set it up for me albeit at the slowest possible speed available. I did have it very briefly a couple of years earlier with aol but it went off and trying to deal with Bt and aol at the same time was horrendous. Bt seem pretty expensive for what i'm getting but i'm not sure about leaving them as the hassle of dealing with two companies was a nightmare.
  18. Sorry mate, just assumed it was you after having seen your driving in the past
  19. In what way? is it just they are faster? Just curious, only ever driven my uk turbo and a P1.
  20. As long as it was more reliable than the Sapphire Cosworth i had.
  21. Glyn stepped up at our last meet, just after new year i think. Well done that man
