  1. you're right Al, socks are only rated up to about 30mph, just got an email about them the other day from western saab. The day after i picked up a set of winter wheels and tyres from them
  2. Socks are purely a get you home item, from what i've found out they'll disintegrate on bare tarmac. winter tyres on a set of cheap rims is the way to go, they may look pish but not as pish as the car upside down in a field if it spins out.
  3. Where about in cornwall do you head for? We're just back from St Agnes, had a week down there. We did about 1500 miles in the week and got near enough 50mpg in the saab.
  4. Very nice car, went to look at the previous shape one a couple of months ago. Unfortunately still out of my price range at the moment, maybe next time. Keep us updated on the mpg, is your driving motorway or town?
  5. Mines been parked up for over a year now, it owes me nothing and i'd get next to nothing for it as it's a scabby uk turbo but it's never missed a beat in 7 years so i've figured it'll stay put until i can afford to run it again. So i'll go with the general view and say keep it.
  6. We've just bought a diesel Saab 93 estate, decent power and really comfy.
  7. Did this last year too and thought it was overpriced, plus i had 2 other cars out at the same time as me and they were considerably slower so i kept having to stop and wait as they wouldn't let us past. Got to the end and the instructor said "well done, now i'll take you round in a hot lap" To which i replied "is that it? do i not get any more laps" I felt somewhat cheated by it all and the instructor crashed off
  8. Do you really think that's enough??
  9. Good luck Mate, hope everything works out for you and the missus. Kev
  10. I declared mine, it added about £50 to my premium.
  11. Hope things get sorted out for you mate. Best wishes to yourself and Imy Kev
  12. My car in post 16 too, well a bit of it anyway. The one one the left with the morettes (the blue one )
  13. I'm sure i'd read somewhere they were no where near as refined as the other diesels on the market or have as good mpg. Never driven one but if they were half decent i'd seriously consider one for the wife when they get more affordable. She want a 4wd estate next and there aren't that many to chose from.
  14. Don't like it and that fog light is just gonna get smashed everytime you hook up the caravan.
  15. Happy Birthday mate
  16. Think a lot of people forget that when cutting up white van man, we usually have a lot less to lose. I gave a bloke a nice big groove in his front bumper with the side rack in my last van after he tried to pull into my lane on a roundabout.
  17. Or Checkpoint Garage in Arbroath, haven't used them myself but a few on here have without any problems
  18. Can you wait until they do one of their free listing days?
  19. Car looking good mate. Thought you'd have went for the faster blue version though Good luck for the weekend too.
  20. I'm assuming emmisions will not be an issue given your current qualifications? But if you need to borrow a double catted centre section, just shout mate.
  21. Never had my car mapped, it's alway been the agricultural way. Fuel cut defender and screw up the boost. Never had a bit of bother. It has standard and high boost of the controller though.
  22. Looking good Gordon
  23. Now you know i'm gonna hold you to that mate. I've got a fully loaded toolbox and not a clue how to use it Cheers for the help folks
  24. Sshh Looks like i'll just strip some bits off stick the harness in and get it on a trailer down to knockhill sometime
  25. Big thanks to Euan for letting me ride alongside for a few laps today. You seemed to be doing bl**dy well for a first timer mate.
