Saw that a few weeks back - much fun (dude!) Check youtube for vids that say Touge - - looks mad
-
Cool - I can buy the wife's Valentine pressies there and save on petrol at the same time! Result
-
mine is sometimes hard to get into 1st or reverse - especially annoying when at lights and then have problems getting 1st with a q of traffic behind you lol I find releasing clutch and then depressing it again (sometimes a few times) eventually helps and it goes in fine. Might get an oil change at next MOT

I'd give her a wee bit more time to move than that m8 lol - I sometimes move into the inside lane then indicate back out and if they still have not seen me I move back in and gradually go past. Technically it is undertaking but if done without changing down a gear and flooring it, can not be considered dangerous driving. Plenty guys don't move over too when they see a scooby coming but that's a different reason I always let people out at junctions etc too and I noticed people tend not not be ready to go and also they don't expect the bloke in the big noisy car to be courteous so it takes me a few flashes before the person believes I am going to let them go!! lol It really bugs me when I flash from a distance so they can come out they just sit and sit untill I have actually come to a standstill - the idea is for them to pull out before I reach them and the traffic can keep flowing. One thing I have noticed and highlight everytime I am out with the wife - women don't say thanks or wave/flash hazards - guys always do when you let them out. I also try to anticipate cars wanting to come out of the inside lane on the motorway to go past a lorry etc and I flash them before they even indicate - that is always appreciated by the people I find Oh hang on - am I too considerate to have a powerful motor???
-
I am forever saying to the wife "If I was in my car they wouldn't have done that" It also makes me a bit more considerate to less powerful cars too as they sometime just have not got enough go to move out your way very quickly so I never hassle people. I notice it on roundabouts - people may think they'll have a go and pull out in front of the Scenic but they definitely have a 2nd thought about it when they see the Scooby coming.
-
big thanks from me too for fitting both front and back and answering lots of scooby based questions! Pity we could not get the front brace secured right due to one of the threads from the strut being too short due to it being damaged in the past at one point! Need someone who can drill it out and fit a new one! Anyway - Gus, you are a credit to the Scooby community

ok, just back from Raceland and it's awesome - very professional setup, everything is well maintained and the helmets and overalls look good and don't stink like other places!! Outdoor karting was great fun = we paid £25 for 10 mins on, 10mins break then another 10 mins - 1st time karting for me and I just got a feel for the handling but was aching already after the first session!! lol 2nd session was much better and we were all keen to go back on but decided against it and went in to get food and watch the stag do guys on the indoor track. Well up for a day (or night) there if anyone fancies it - a bigger group with a competitive aspect to it all would make it even more fun! There was also a WR1 there which I think is the owner's.
-
thx guys - Extreme are getting a tyre in for me this afternoon - nobody else could get one today! Uniroyal Rainsports is what I am putting on but I always have F1s or Dunlop... Wish this had not happened just as I was gonna sell the wheels for 17s lol...makes it less financially viable!
-
Anyone know any local companies they trust? Mobile ideally but I have the space saver on so can drive if it is nearby. I always used Clifford's but can't find their details anywhere online...old phone no. does not work Just called Fairdeal in Broxburn too but they have none in stock and phoned round the suppliers who also have none Really need to get 17s on anyway lol Wish I had bought Gus the Bus's ones! cheers

I have a TomTom app on my Pocket PC for years (think I got TTN2 way back when!) and the most fun is putting in a familiar journey then telling it to avoid Motorways and /or A Roads - THAT's how you find some amazing roads Not sure about all the TomTom One etc but I like the Ipaq version as it can be modified and you can add in all the custom POIs etc...(shell stations one is handy!). I assume you can do that now with the all in one units? My standard set of POIs is Shell stations, Pizza Huts, KFC and Cashlines lol Can always find food, money and petrol wherever I go

yep snow here in West Lothian too - took the dog up for her walk tonight in the wife's Scenic and was having a wee drift on the roundabout hehe - she doesn't get in the Scooby as she gets soaked when she goes for her walks!
-
Thanks for the info guys - Raceland would be preferred but is quite a trek for the people coming from Aberdeen and Dundee etc. The Livingston one did look quite small when I was in one day.
-
Anyone know the place in Livingston? It's in Deans - just remember vaguely speaking to the guys who run it and afaik they were both Scooby owners. Has anyone been to it and is it any good for a small group? Some of the FTO guys are having a Scottish meet and were going to go to Cambuslang's Karting place but I mentioned the one in Livingston after someone said we'd need guards for the cars in Cambuslang lol. Any info would be great!
-
I'd prob fill it up lol - I have done a fair few since I joined and had no luck with anyone I actually spotted being on here - maybe there's not much success with them so most people have given up?
-
that was around months ago - I think it was the promo truck....afaik the cars on it are not real.
-
I had some wee lads come up (bout 10 yrs old maybe) and say "Cool car mister, looks like Fast and Furious" (this was when my FTO had CF Bonnet and Huge rear wing etc) and I said "Thanks" - then they said "Are you no too old tae drive that" Cheeky feckers! I retorted "Naw, I am old enough to be able to insure one!" lol btw this was back when FTO's were rare in the UK Altho I am still paying less for a 300bhp Turbo Scooby than I was for my 2.0 NA FTO( a few months ago)! Go figure....
-
I decided I'll keep trying with these spots - may just start my own wee thread lol! The FTO is still sitting here on the drive - I am warming it up now and then for the new owner but every time I hear the 5Zigen rasp as it kicks in I think I should keep it!! lol It's been sold to a dealer who is going to sell it on - I didn't even advertise the car - word of mouth was enough Still love how it looks And this is how it looks now - new Bozz Speed front: Had just bought another CF bonnet a few weeks before I decided to get the scooby too so I sold it again lol
-
Saw you when I was coming out of the street Da Vinci's is on in Eliburn - anyone on here? It may have been a WRX but was definitely a UK300 spoiler. I was in the blue newage that followed you until you went down to Houston Road.
-
Was a big bloke who got out of it
-
A very low white Legacy (I think!). Anyone on here? Certainly was not standard by the looks of it
-
Hi Ally, I had my bumper sprayed about 3-4 years back on my first FTO and the company were specialists at this sort of repair you are asking about - The company are called Dr Vinyl - the one I know is in Edinburgh (Leith) and the owner is called George. Not sure where in Scotland you are tho! Tell him Paul with the Black and White FTO gave you details
-
Bob Carolgees!!! Wow....
-
I went for a random drive yesterday and ended up at Hypertech and had a good chat with Duncan - knows his stuff and seems to care what he does to ppls cars so I will be looking to go back for an alignment once I get some 17" on my car and sell the 19" as they really affect handling. He did say the whiteline anti-lift kit really makes a big difference tho - any of you got that? A good mod?

I wrote off my FTO GR in Nov 2003 by hitting an unlit traffic island in the pouring rain at night on the Maybury Road in Edinburgh. I was unaware it was there as it was new for the new flats they were building there. It is just after you come from Queensferry road and join the Maybury road at the Barnton roundabout - it's 2 lanes (and always had been - I grew up in Cramond and knew the road well) but this island brings it down to 1 lane then back up to 2 again....madness! I complained to the council and pretty much got short shrift and was told it was my own fault...I lost my FTO to that event I just got a letter today from a solicitor who is acting on behalf of the daughter of a man who died in 2005 by hitting the SAME island and it was also still unlit. Since then there has been another fatality so they are collecting evidence against the council. That's 2 deaths 2 years after my crash and still the island was unlit!! I just wondered if any of you have noticed that island at all as I am sure I have passed it recently and it was still not lit. The investigators said they had got my address from the police who had a record of my crash and also others who had hit it or complained about it. Also - while I was waiting on the police to arrive at the scene of my accident, 2 more cars hit the island!! It's going to court in March and I'm hoping they give them hell as it's a travesty that some budget concern has ended up with 2 people dead. FYI the islands are lit from a light UNDER the island - i.e below ground level - so hitting it would take the bollards down but the light below would still be lit - ideally if any of you know the facts about these bollards I'd be interested to know.
