The Livi police have an unmarked BMW 3 series a 52 plate iirc....was at the livi cruise last year and pulled a few people who thought it was clever to drive really fast, dump their valves then brake really hard for no apparent reason

Recent Pics. FTO Pics This is the 2nd and by far the best FTO I have owned ( I knew what to look for 2nd time round) - I am the first UK owner. White Facelift Mitsubishi FTO GPX , 1997 on a P Plate, 2 Litre Mivec , 5 Speed Manual 70k Miles (Mileage conformity document available to confirm reading when bought and converted to miles) Facelift Model, Twin Airbags, Folding Electric Mirrors, Air Con, ABS, Central Locking, Cat 1 Toad Alarm and Immobiliser, Momo Steering Wheel, Foglights wired to rear brake lights (no dangly fog light or one cut into the bumper!) Now the good stuff! Aluminium Dial rings Delimited Aftermarket HID Lights Uprated High beam 17" White OZ Cronos Racing Alloys (Very Light) 5Zigen Fireball exhaust with an amazingly distinct note, much commented upon Apex lowering Springs HKS Induction kit Twin Panasonic MD/CD Players and CD Multi changer Very rare Pro Shop Iida sideskirts and rear valance (I know people say RARE a lot but these really are!!) Version R spoiler (NOT the big one in the pics - much more subtle spoiler is now on!) 4x Goodyear F1 Eagle Tyres (receipts available) Only one owner in Japan. Imported to the UK last September and bought by me in December (Xmas Eve of all days - I couldn't wait!) All receipts available. Rolling Roaded at Dastek in Scotland at 209bhp with chart to prove it All receipts for anything bought for it or done to it (most recently new tyres and 4 wheel laser alignment after removal of Cusco Coilovers) It also has FULL JAPANESE HISTORY!! It's not often you get this but it came with the original purchase receipt and receipts and manuals for the coilovers and HID lights. It also has all the service documents and MOT docs from Japan! Taxed till 08/05 and passed MOT with flying colours - next one due Sept 2005. It has just had a Top strut arm replaced on the rear drivers side but the rest of the suspension was deemed fine by the garage. I have pictures of this car which were found on various Japanese websites so you can see it's development from purchase to today! The previous owner was also a member of a large FTO owners Club in Japan called Tension and pics are on the site of him at meets with the car. I personally am also a long standing member of the FTO Owners Club in the UK. www.ftooc.org/ I strongly suggest the new owner join for the most helpful forum I have been in! There are many FTOs for less but very few so distinct and many facelifts go for a premium as they can no longer beimported as a result of new ESVA rules. I contacted the previous owner in Japan to find out if the Cambelt had been done as it was around the mileage that would be needed - he confirmed it hadn't so I had that done recently by the Garage in Wishaw - a well respected FTO expert for peace of mind, I also got the tensioner pulley done as they can cause problems if not replaced at the same time. As ever, no test pilots or tyre kickers - I need serious buyers! I am based in Scotland (just between Edinburgh and Glasgow) N.B. the car does not have the large wing or CF bonnet that is in some of the pics anymore - current bonnet is standard but still black. Reason for sale is I now have a 9 month old baby and we need 4 doors!

people were selling packs and individual cards on ebay last time round!! I think they should post a pic of the winner and the car on the next set of promo posters!
-
Yeah I saw your post about that guy - this one looked pretty standard - may not have even been a turbo....didn't look good tho!
-
Just saw it as I was heading back home via the Kirkliston back roads (of course!! lol) front was banged up and it was parked up with a guy in it in the passenger seat

THOSE LITTLE WHITE THINGS ON TOP OF TRAFFIC CARS
pmacFTO replied to billyboy's topic in Scottish Scoobies
<< Yes thats wat they do.Check your plate and if you've no tax etc your nicked. When mot computerisation comes on line they'll check that too. >> Sounds good to me....none of us want to be hit by an uninsured driver (usually no MOT or tax too as they have no regard for the anything or anyone else let alone the law) -
might try one of these - the FTO has a groove in the top of the seat to put your seatbelt in and it holds you in a lot tighter - th CG Lock would be good for holding the lower half of the body in and would complement it - harnesses are great but not practical if you use your back seats (i.e. for my 8mth old daughter!)
-
My daughter is 8 months old and sleeps 12 hrs a night - she's maybe woken 5 times in all that time - even when she was being fed thru the night she just went back to sleep g/f wants another one but I am wary in case the next one is a nightmare!! lol

Hang on - what colour is Chris's car? If it's the one in his avatar it wasn't him? EDIT: Just seen it on Swiggi's site Yep it was Chris then....
-
Aye it was last night tho...was on M8 at 6.30-7ish - I guess it's a quick car then if he chases bikes Not been pulled for that plate? I was off to Argyle St to do a network installation till the wee hours (was worried about parking round there too...loadsa boy racers screaming thru that arcade all evening...zorsts aplenty! Managed to find a space near the HP offices which seemed fine - apart from when I went back to the car a few ladies of the night offered their services Forogt what living in cities was like now I live in Livingston! lol
-
I was sitting behind you in the Black and White FTO most of the way thru to Glasgow....is it one of you guys? Had a Gumball sticker on the back and plate was SJ53 *** in a script type font... Pity you never got a race with the wee Mint green Z4. Nice car m8, lots of presence on the road D)

Thanks for the info Grant.

ta m8...sorry was a bit lazier earlier

I've just stuck my car up on Ebay as Autotrader was useless!! Your car looks a perfect example for me Need a wagon as we have 3 dogs (wee ones tho) and now have a 7 month old daughter so practicality mixed with AWD and a turbo is my ideal solution Is the car JDM or UK and what sort of BHP is it? Are the mods such that they noticeably increase the insurance? (I'm 34) TIA for any info http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=4546012865

nice stealth hijack there KartMan

Lovely car m8 Pity about the chav in the astra who came screaming up the inside lane and decided he was going to drive at me to get behind u - there was no room and yet he just pulled right in knowing I would brake... Did you see it happen? He must have been close to you! Nobody know the car? Was a business looking kinda guy with his bluetooth headset. Car looked pretty standard....exactly the model I want
-
Ah....interesting to know that... I'll store that fact for future reference...never thought of doing it that way....makes a lot of sense actually...
-
You don't need to ESVA cars older than 10 years now That should help u a bit....it also means an influx of below par cars is due as they don't need to do all the mods to get the cars UK/Europe legal thus making a bit more profit on the cars.... You would probably have to have the car trailered up unless you can get trade plates - altho only the person registered to use the plates can drive the car - as long as that person is in the car and u have trade plates on it means anyone can drive it....I'm guessing you are buying it from an individual rather than a company - as they would obviously do all the registering and delivery for you....
-
Keith, I contacted Norrie about his car (he was visiting a m8 2 streets along from me!!) and had a test drive - as u say it's very standard apart from some ProDrive upgrades from new - Thanks for the info m8 It's one on my list now as he has looked after it and it's a good point to start from b4 I learn a bit more about the various mods
-
ta Keith - pm duly returned

Well I would have used JVS but Andy is moving to Japan to be a buyer so thats a no-no - I don't want anything from Calder and Mackay is too expensive which is why I am looking private. I'm on my 2nd FTO so I know all about imports, ESVA and specs etc but I need to replace my car ASAP for work.
-
UK or Import are fine - needs to be fairly comfortable as I have a 7mth old wee girl and I've had enough of the low bumpy sportscar thing for a while! Now I am scared after your description of the possible chain of events in the life of that Scoob! The original owner traded in a 205GTi for the Scooby (seller has all the original receipts) and I guess he must have thrashed the car resulting in the rebuild - I don't drive that hard and as it will be my everyday car I will be taking it fairly easy with a bit of fun thrown in now and then Budget would be 6-6.5 max....unless it was a pretty new model in which case I would go to 7k. Mods are not too important as I want to keep insurance down plus I'd like to learn about the car's handling etc b4 I start modding....A wagon would also be considered as we have dogs! I think I'd prefer an import due to the usually higher spec and better condition (no salt on Jap roads...lovely!) and of course the extra BHP.... Thanks for the info m8
