  1. I had the front drops on my WRX removed when I got them. They had been fitted by Pentagon Glasgow (by the dealer from new - even though illegal) and I had them removed (and replaced with clear anti-smash film) by Pentagon Stirling.

Was a few years ago so can't remember how much - but maybe around £150, including the new film but that was 7 years ago!

    Brian ;)

  2. Project ICE for my WRX began today i went on line and checked the local Halfords had the speakers in i wanted a set of Vibe SEK60 components. They were in stock so i reserved them and ticked the box for in store fitting which is anoth £20. I'd do it myself but i have limited tools and no space to do it. This afternoon i got a call from the store saying 'we don't do in store fitting for speakers, we give you a voucher and you book it through a company we use'. When i went to collect the speakers tonight i was told it could take 2-4 weeks to get them fitted - the place is closed till 8:30 tomorrow and i won't find out till then when it can be done.

two things are winding up on this one.....

Why advertise In Store fitting if it isn't available......

and a possible 2-4 weeks wait to get the speakers fitted....

Has anyone had any experience of this with Halfords before, just seems to be taking the p*** a bit! ;)

I'm thinking again about getting the new head unit from them now, i was going to sort that at the weekend.... Could be time to search the net again. Then all i'll need to do is wire in the sub and it'll be job done.

I'd just fit them yourself - you should need no more than a philips screwdriver once the door card is off.

    Brian ;)

  3. You mean his fine taste is that he has resisted the urge to buy a Prius, I mean Hatch? Only joking, I know how upset you hatch guys get about the subject???

P.S. Cheers for the details Bobby

Lol - don't diss the hatch - so obviously the best Impreza model yet.

    Brian :-)

  4. Is it the same guy that used to frequent the forums and subsequently moved to the dark side?

Yes - 'tis - and he's trying hard to resist the Scooby-Hatch urge...a man of fine taste

    Brian.

  7. Hi, just a wee update.

Things are now JUST ABOUT in hand and Jon's going to hand the clothing order stuff to me shortly so we can get this up and running again.

As above, please, NO new orders YET, but watch this space and we'll be back in action SOON.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

    Glyn

Well done Glyn for keeping going with this.

  8. Yes.

    Oh yes...

My Autosol Metal Polish, Verry Berry Wheel Cleaner (with bottle and pump) arrived today. Just waiting for the bits and bobs I've ordered to start on my transit waxed engine bay ;)

I think folk thought I was crazy when rinsing my car down last night in the snow but can't have it too dirty...

    Brian.

  9. Thank you very much for all your helpful replies folks ;)

I'm going to have the Prodrive springs fitted (provided I can produce the cash - or credit ;)).

... and seeing as there apparently aren't any third-party replacements for the OEM shocks, I plan to have the springs supplied & fitted by a main dealer, which will keep my warranty intact. Then when the warranty runs out in a few months' time, I can extend it for the sum of £400, which will keep me in as many Subaru shocks as I need for another year after that - the added bonus being my engine/turbo/etc will continue to be covered (didn't plan on visiting Mr Forrest or any of his competitors anyway). I don't usually go for warranties, but in this instance it would seem to make sense, esp. given what I know about newage Impreza shocks!

Main dealer has quoted £565 inc. supply, fitting, 'state of the art' geo. setup and VAT.

Where is that? Seems a bit pricey.

    Brian.

  11. Hi Paul,

Not 100% sure what pads John used but eventually gave up on the Rotary and done the work with the DA, slower but less of a problem after trying lots of combinations of pads etc.

There is a thread on www.detailingworld.co.uk with similar issues - black 330S although another with a white car had fewer issues.

    Brian

  12. Looking for a whoosh valve for my hatch prior to remap, looking for opinions on what is best & type.

So asking the resident experts

    Forge

    Blitz

    HKS

    Turbo smart

    What you reckon.

Not sure it's a good idea from past reading and forum experience as it can cause a range of problems such as bore wash etc and other things I don't understand. I think also people get fed up with the sound of a bus stopping pretty quickly...I got a decent amount of extra noise from upgrading my recirc to a Forge recirc on my classic.

I am sure someone will come along shortly and explain...

    B.

  13. lol, couldn't help but notice this one on the same page

How inconvenient, the public using your dedicated drag strip !!!

Nice to see he merged effectively into the flow of traffic as per the highway code
