Did you bleed the coolant system after he said it needed done? And I'd get the brakes done sharpish too.
Take it to a decent mechanic - it's a Japanese car so will be excellent underneath all the niggles if it was looked after prior to lying for 6 months - it will certainly need serviced though. And make sure you put in decent fuel - Shell V Power and octane booster would be good for it.
At least the guy was honest about the work needing done and you got it cheap. But it will cost to pit some things right.
Good luck and keep us posted. Don't be afraid to ask any questions (after using the search facility first).
Welcome to SIDC.

No.67 - how true!
-
You can hear it very good at 8 seconds, just small bumps in the road makes this sound, comes from the left in dash
And it's not the noise from the rear parcel shelf/cover?

OK - I admit it...it's not mine.

Is it just me or are folks getting in to the cleaning the car stage just a little early this year...it's still barely getting above freezing and the roads are filthy !!
Mine is going in for a "winter" detail tomorrow - light machine polish and as much protection as it will take before any major correction work in the summer.

Lucky you
Anyway back on topic, beautiful, the bigger wheels look so so much better than the standard 17 inchers and as for the spotlights that just smarts up the front no end
So, splitter next?
Don't...Charlie was bending my ear about that one tonight on the phone.........
Anyone want to donate the necessary many hundred quid and I'd be delighted to look after it (until I hit a kerb) free of charge!
Would love to BUT...my bank account will physically go on fire as will every other means of credit I own...until I win the lottery.
I think springs will be next on my purchase list if I can scrape the cash together this side of 2015!

Here we go!
iPhone pics of the car (in the rain and dark mainly) with the new STI Lusteric 18's with Dunlop SP Sport 9000's, fog lights installed (and 1000 miles oil service). Much better stance and, in terms of feel (in the wet), heavier steering a low speeds and very little change in the ride quality. Well worth while. 17's to be fitted with winter tyres for later in the year.
Many thanks to Charlie at Ian Grieve Subaru, Falkirk for getting it all sorted with zero hassle.

Hi all,
Had the car out for a bit today...before it gets it's 18" STI wheels and fog lights (and 1000 miles oil change) tomorrow...only visual change outside is the Litchfield rear light film, Revolution clear rear fog and Philips Silvervision indicator bulbs at the rear (plus LED number plate lights).
The car is not exactly "sparkling clean" but it's being detailed on Thursday to get rid of the poor valeting, swirls and general "not 100%-nes" of the paint.

It's not a 330s, doesn't have the tinted rear windows. the fog, spitters ect are extra even on a 330 so at 24K it over priced for a standard year old sti with just cosmetic changes. Does it have recaro seats and push button start. if it does it may be a euro import.
Yeah - see that now after a closer look. It looks like standard STI seats inside it.

What are you getting and where from?

£100! That's cheap - how can he make any money at. Sometimes the products can be a fair chunk of that.
Try John, many times Impreza and Evo owner of JKPDetailing in West Lothian - will travel and is mobile and will do you an excellent job.
Brian :-)

Now done the silver lights (Philips Silver Vision) and the LED's for the number plate lights
Also got my plate transferred and onto the car today!
Subtle but better
Apologies for the picture quality - took them on the iPhone and the car looks as if it's been tango'd (not de-tango'd) under the garage lights!

scorpion 5" its the same box they make for TSL (firestorm) they also make exhausts for Rodger Clark and Prodrive so i thought why pay and extra £50 just for getting it from tsl go straight to the manufacturing company
It's VERY difficult not to mod

205/50/17
Ahh - quite different as the STI is 235/45/17 on a 17 x 8j wheel.
-
Yep - don't fancy machining it myself!
lol

While it's still quite new, yes

iv heard all bout your Blaeberry escapades from the big man JKP
ill point him in direction of this.
I'll see him on Saturday - I'll mention it then

£24k
Good price for it, especially as an 09 standard STI is going to come in at around £20k - £21k currently.
All about price to change if trading in though.

Do they come in an 18 x 8.5 fitting? I know some of the Innovit I looked at only do 7.5...

Nice
What tyre size? I'm about to sell my 600 miles, very lightly driven, tyres from my STI wheels...
