Nice one, suits the car to a T
not looked at it yet but how easy is changing the rear fog light Brian?
Fog light easy -
Buy fog light from Revolution247
Get LED from Litchfield
Take the four trim panels off inside the boot (pull hard - top, sides then bottom one in that order)
Unplug the light and take the bulb holder from the light to be removed
One nut is inside the tailgate (need a socket set with bar) and two black nuts on the (out)side of the light - don't lose the plastic washer.
Pull light out (has a clip holding it in place at the inside edge)
Putting in the new one is the reverse (use the rubber gromit from the back of the old foglight, clean the boot behind the light, insert the bulb holder with new clear (lights up red) LED into the Revolution foglight).
Even with the clear rear fog done it will be much better.

Hi Guys,
I've now signed up to become a full member of the SIDC. Had my first meeting on Thursday at Brewers Fayre in Stirling.
Thanks for the welcome!
What can I expect next?
steven
Glad you found the place
Help, tips and expect to lose every penny you have buying bits for the car!!!

Hi all,
After a couple of hours with the hairdryer, soapy water spray, plastic tool, Litchfield overlays and the lights - I am half way there.
Look pretty good up close (couple of minor imperfections but hopefully will settle over time). Fiddly job but big improvement when done.
Here are the before shots:
Lights being done (one finished, one untouched):
On the car:
Couple of other shots with the lights on:
The rain is not helping - it's been on all day and I now need to swap the red fog light for the clear one I've got from Revolution247 with a clear LED bulb for it. Then film that and the reversing light too!
Finally done at 19:30 - took a while! Photo's not the best in the rain and in the dark...
Should say - done with lights out of the car in the kitchen!
VAST improvement...chav lights gone...
Genuine Subaru Clear rear fog from Revolution 247 (£70 + delivery)
Fog Bulb - clear lights up red - Litchfield - (£13 including delivery)
Litchfield Film Overlay Kit - (£25 + VAT + Delivery = £38 approx)

Looking good.

nice car man. If I hadn't modded my WRX and if I still didnt owe dosh on it, I'd have one of these... well well, not to be
Well worth considering for the future. Easy car day to day, feels great on the road (and better with the same tweaks you'd do to a saloon) and I personally think it looks great in a different way - less in your face, less "I'm going to get pulled over here", less can I park it anywhere safely...

Acidic wheel cleaners are usually the problem. Using a wheel wax every couple of months and keeping them clean (easy to wash when waxed) will protect them really well.

I'm not suprised.....................the word tasteless springs to my mind. Each to their own I suppose.
Reading the spec I can't figure out where the £65,000 has gone - even when I include the original price of the car...
Brian
-
Ad says £65,000 spent - that must have blown the "I'll be keeping it standard" budget...

As some of you may know, I'm on the look out for a Type R - standard or modified but in good condition. I've not viewed any yet as i'm not planning to buy until late Feb/March.
I've seen a good few I like but I would like to ask your opinions. If the red paint is chipped or flaking on the manifold then is this a sign the car has been ragged and not looked after?
Any help is welcomed...
Steve
Might have been pressure washed too hard or cleaned using a strong cleaner (wonder wheels etc) which has ripped the paint finish. Also age...

What's the ££££ for the spots and splitter & fitting (if you don't mind me asking...pm maybe)?
Brian.
-
On my hatch shopping list already. Take fitting pictures for me :-)
is the dealer fitting spots and front splitter?
Brian.

True but they do a club discount (separate login section) and also have multi-buy offers quite often on the forums. Superb service I've found over the years too.

Absolute best thing to do is contact someone like Oilman (aka OpieOils) - they discount for SIDC members and have an excellent "recommend me an oil" based on the exact car and modifications etc.

Its the future
Don't forget me (although a bit longer in the tooth!)

Indeed it does :-)

Lol - My name is usually "jdfkjhdfjkhadlk lkjdhfljkhdflkjd" etc as I just go as fast as possible with a rough postcode up the road somewhere! Works fine.
I have used Elephant & Admiral on all sorts of cars over the years (same as Privilege - usually more expensive) and also Keith Michaels on the STI 1 (with all mods covered).
All excellent.

we often spend 2k or over preping our cars to SUBARU standards.
Lol - then we spend 2k a year modding them (if we are being thrifty
)

Scottish winters on the other hand are wet and cold
I take your point though - I run Goodyear eagle F1 tyres which are fantastic on (warm) wet roads. Apparently they are not as good as others in the dry, but since I leave on the west coast of Scotland I've never been able to verify that.....
What kind of prices are people paying for 17" winter tyres?

Hatch Tail Light Overlays, Clear Rear Fog And Led - Done!

Cheers all!
Ordered a few weeks ago the small Prodrive Japanese Only Mudflaps for the front from Revolution (due in stock this week I think). Although do like the Rally Armors![:rotfl:](https://sidc.co.uk/uploads/emoticons/default_rotfl.gif)
If the weather is decent tomorrow I'll get it cleaned, clayed, sealed and waxed to help protect it a bit.
Wanting to get some cash to do front fogs, 18's, Prodrive springs and some other bits and bobs. Needs an exhaust but will get that via PPP. Resisting the urge to head down to C&C!
Also silver indicator bulbs really needed now too! Get my plate on it too (just waiting for DVLA to do the transfer as have sent off the retention form and the V5).
Other essential mod I done today was to put on the SIDC sticker on the back window![:)](https://sidc.co.uk/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png)
