  1. Woke up this morning to a call from Lothian and Borders police telling me some dirty low life tried to steal my car while i was staying at the girlfriends parents last night. Anyway got up and back to the flat to find the wiring and alarm box all ripped out from under the dash. on quick glance wiring looks in one peace and car starts so no faults with immobiliser but they managed to make off with the Apexi S-AFC II which was mounted on the dash and have left a few dents in the drivers door which i think is from them kneeling against it while prising the window back so they could use something to open the car.

later found out my beloved scoob was not the only one last night to get targeted as another not far from me had its window smashed and contents removed

Im so mad, just wished i had been at the flat to catch the dirty c***s cant believe the inconsiderate b*****s probably sittin smug after selling everything of for his next hit of crack!!!

Terrible mate. At least it's still running and with you.

    Brian.

Looks like a new grill, headlamps and bumper for the hatchback.

Not sure if it improves it any though

Still looks to have Lexus rear lights too.

The 2011 car also gets stiffer bushes to improve the soft suspension and overlight steering.

The US which has always had a Saloon WRX, has now got the wide arch STi body, and it looks like red lens tail lights.

Now if they brought that to the UK as an STi, maybe just maybe I'd be interested............................along with a few others.

So, c'mon Subaru UK, get your act together before you go the same way as Lancia, and disappear from the UK.

The pics there are for the newly introduced US WRX which mentions a unique front end and "fender flares" etc and been on US forums for a wee bit.

Looks good but I think the new hatch in STI form looks very good with a few subtle changes anyway - lights & bushes are a VERY easy fix.

As for the saloon - I'd absolutely buy the hatch over the saloon every time now after owning it - so much more modern to look at, live with and drive IMHO

  3. Looks like a national shortage, if you google shell v power shortage theres quite a lot of forums talking about the v power pumps being dry. A few garages have told people it was a quality control issue that has lead to the problem

I fuelled up at whitburn shell this morning and all their v power pumps were working if this helps anyone close by

    steve

All empty now by the looks of it... :)

  4. I tryed that too but wasnt keen by the time you get half way round most of the foam has run off

However if the car is very dirty i have foamed, rinsed re foamed then washed with 2BM and its very slick

The thing is there is no right or wrong its all down to personal preference

Very true - I think I may try the foam, rinse, then 2BM after foaming but not rinsing to keep the car as slick as possible ;)

    Brian.

  5. Just to say thanks to Alistair for remapping my blobeye today. Not only sorted the annoying slight hesitation I have always had but also gained 51 horses and the car drives far better than before. Can't believe the difference! It's the best £200 mod I have done yet! ;)

    Mike

    £200 - that's cheap!

Driving well? What other mods have you got with it?

    Brian :crying:

  6. looking good, enjoying looking at the details that you've both changed

Derek, how come you've not got the STi badge on the front grill?

ps You've missed the plates on the first 3 photos.

    Done that and removed again!

Photobucket - I am going to seriously fall out with it - they take ages to refresh their files and keep uploading old original unedited photos for about 15 minutes!

    Brian ;)

  7. Looks good mate

Do you always pre rinse befroe foam?

I just foam from dry and find the foam sticks better and i get more cleaning power from it

Tried both - also experimenting with a second foam with Autowash and using the mitt on that with a rinse bucket. Also seems very good as the car is "pre-soaped" so no scratching etc.

    Brian ;)

  8. Hi all,

As the car had been in the garage for a week getting a "few things" - Prodrive spring kit, STI quickshift, Prodrive Performance Pack etc I finally got a chance to top up the wax today after it was detailed by JKP detail about a month or so ago. Has been filthy, clean, filthy, washed, etc for weeks as it's used every day in all conditions...

    Anyway after the following process:

    PW to rinse of dirt

Autosmart HD Snowfoam and then dwell

    PW to remove foam/dirt

2BM wash with Autosmart Autowash (excellent stuff)

    PW to rinse

Wheels cleaned with Very Cherry & Supagard brush

Car dried with Uber & Monza drying towels

    Glass polished

Wheels sealed with Poorboys Wheel Sealant

Car waxed with Poorboys Natty Blue and removed immediately

(Car already wearing two coats of DodoJuice Supernatural and bonnet one coat of EXP sealant).

Plastics and tyres had been done about 300 miles ago...

Lots of afters & reflection shots:

  9. Your back.

I'm bitterly disappointed however, that your avatar is not the strumming man with the curly hair. You know the trouble it caused the last time you tried to remove it.

    Callum

Lol - I'll try to find it ;)

  10. C&C are the business - yes a waiting list but that's what you want...

They could probably do just a back section for you in a day...and drop you off at Braehead for some shopping while you wait in the Hilux I was telling you about :D

    Brian.
