defelctor plate for blobe eye bonnet scoop
Ken 275 replied to mctwistuk's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Gotcha now Chris. Try to speak to DR Motorsportsports about it as I haven't a clue about these new fangled things. K. -
Sorry Mate - which one was yours? It certainly can't be as dirty as mine - sister threw it around a red blaes car park the other day. I'd better go and do something about it. K.

I think I've seen it somewhere before..

Glad they worked but I apologise for the photographer's shadow in the last one. I wonder what happened to the guy in the DGM Classic racing the crotch rocket on the motorway? Madness. It wasn't you was it? K.

Better late than never - I hope this works, for my third attempt. Cheers D. and tight lines. K. http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i144/Ken...2006/Scoob3.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i144/Ken...2006/Scoob2.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i144/Ken...2006/Scoob1.jpg

Ha! Made me laugh. I would suggest it was SW's optician. I just can't take to the "Alfa" nose. It's probably a very good car behind it though. What's next for your paddock Dave? K.

Stickered up MY06 STi coming from MacDonalds in Dumbarton on Wednesday afternoon. Nice graphics, but I don't take to the car. Just personal taste I may add. Ken

Does anyone (and I'm sure someone does) have directions for where to find the premises? Finding Hillington is not hard but trying to locate the workshop could take a bit longer. TIA. Ken

I always wave at fellow Scoobsters, but sometimes I forget I'm in my Dad's Volvo. I've also had a few pre-emptive salutes from Evo's around here, mostly good natured ones too. Keep up the tradition guys, it's another key part of Subaru ownership - like mega fuel and insurance costs, modding and the Community. You can take the man out of the Subaru but... K.

Welcome aboard Pal to SS IDC. Where's my 10%? K.
-
Did this myself years ago. This is what happens when you clean the steering column! K.

My pal's just bought this from S&S. Does anyone have any gen on the previous owners? It's a silver Blobeye and seems minted. I hope it wasn't horsed. K.

I seem to remember some talking head, maybe Sir Liam Donaldson, saying that it was not a question of "if avian flu arrives in the UK, but when". Well who-ever it was that stated this was correct and here we go. It could be very serious should the virus mutate. F&M was containable (apart from a few stupid farmers) but I don't remember ever seeing any cattle that could fly. http://www.defra.gov.uk/news/latest/2006/animal-0405a.htm K.

I have a set of original gold Terzo 16" wheels here if that's any good to you and the tread is sound on the tyres. Let me know if you are interested in borrowing them. Ken Dumbarton

Thanks for the reply. He has a clean licence but recent quotes for insurance have been >£2K. It might be his postcode that's bumping it up. God, you could buy a decent Classic for a wee bit more than that at today's prices. I'm just trying to get another victim into the fold - I've managed one so far - and keep the community ticking over. K.
-
I'm just testing the water for a mate. He's only 24 so I'm looking for something unmodded, maybe even a wagon as the insurance would be a crippler on anything else. It would be better to have one to view and drive within 100 miles of Dumbarton. There is a test drive booked at S&S for later next week but if anyone is selling, or knows of a clean example for sale, please let me know. Ken

I've been a member there for about 15 years and was actually invited to join the committee but I suppose that's because I'm a masochist and nobody likes me. The other lochs in the area can be quite good at times too in the OK hills if you persevere. 6 pounders, 3 pounders etc. but not to my rod. I had 2 @ 2.5lbs from the Burncrooks in one night last season but they were probably stockies. All the more reason for a tap on the head. I must have met you at some point up there at Loch Humphrey. I usually walk up as I wouldn't risk the tyres on the Terzo on that bloody road! Which car do you take? Ken
-
I'm heavily committed to broonies in the high lochs (I can see your house from my club water Dougster) and tie my own flies for salmon fishing too. I've not been out this year so far due to the late arrival of Winter as there is little point. Mind you, at least there are no midgies to contend with. K.

It was an excellent game, but I'm afraid I didn't see all of it. The best fixture to play France is the first one of the season. Ecosse were lucky in the draw, and the fact that they got a home fixture too. Brilliant game though. Ex. player in many shirts, one of them blue with a thistle. K.
-
Yep, here all day and night. I wasn't along at Dunglass in my Terzo though. K.

Warning! Corny Joke Approaching. The Lone Drinker The Lone Ranger and his American-Indian friend Tonto come up to a small town after days of walking. The night is cold and they are both thirsty, so they decide to go have a drink at the local bar. A sign on the door of the bar reads “NO INDIANS.” The Lone Ranger says, to Tonto, “Sorry friend, but you will have to wait outside. Run around so you won't get cold.” So Tonto nods his head in approval, and begins to jog around the establishment. After about an hour and six whiskeys later, the Sheriff comes in to the saloon, strolls over to The Lone Ranger and says, “I've come to tell you that you've left your ‘Injun’ running outside!”

I think the point is that your own cars are tailored and customised to your own requirements and therefore feel "right". Jumping into a bog standard Vectra or Mondeo type job will never be as good as what you are used to. FWIW, my Old Boy's got a Volvo 940 which I use occasionally for moving stuff and it's not too bad. The RWD is a refreshing change and it is a nice, relaxing cruiser. I'll never understand why Swedish cars are so crap in the snow though. The exhaust's a hell of a lot quieter than a Scoobysport too! K.
