  1. That's twice I've lost my reply now. Just to say thanks for doing the blue link thing. The car looks sound. K.
  2. Somebody please make a clicky. PM me with price please; looks like belter. K.
  3. Cheers Pedro, sounds like a good deal. I'll see what the "Budget Owner" says about this. That'll be the dealer in Cupar then? I assume Cupar Fife, not Angus, but I can check. Disnae matter either way. You can't beat a personal recommendation when it comes to viewing cars and it's good to get a contact to ask for instead of a bonce in a suit who knows feck all about cars, only HP interest rates. I'm still waiting to see the Legacy 2.5 from a certain Glasgow car-tesco I was promised was for sale, only the boss's son had it out for a "test drive". They even had the cheek to try and discuss terms for a motor I hadn't even seen, let alone driven. Sharks. Bought an RB5 instead; 'nuff said. I fully intend to help my mate get a good Impreza, so keep them coming please. TIA. K.
  4. Cheers, you're not wrong about the Wagon. I'm half interested myself, but I must remind myself I have an Impreza already and can't afford two. God knows it's hard enough having one. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to reply. That's a nice car... K.
  5. Back again. Thanks for your tips guys. The car in question wasn't 100% suitable (for reasons which I won't divulge) so the search has started anew. I won't type what I would like to as it would take too long and is possibly libellous but The Quest is now focussed on non-Subaru dealers and reputable (pref SIDC members [if that's not an oxymoron]) private sales. Remit : honest, reliable garages, within 1 hour's drive of Glasgow, offering 1 year's warranty. Or, private sale, subject to AA inspection. Spec : MY99 / 00 Impreza Turbo 4 door ,average mileage, £8.5K max. If anyone can offer some pointers I would be very grateful. There must be something suitable out there! K.

  7. Only when we go for runs Davie. I took him out in my (almost) bog standard job and he was so impressed he decided to buy one. The trouble is that there aren't many good Classics on the go right now at reasonable prices from dealers in this area. Jaysus, I see more Porkers every day now than I do Scoobs! K.
  8. A good friend of mine is keen to get a hold of a late Classic Turbo with warranty (pref MY99+) and has been offered one at a well known Ayrshire garage. I haven't seen it in the metal yet but am told it has the RB5 type splitter etc but interior-wise lacks, amongst other things, the map lights. It is dark metallic green in colour. Firstly, does anyone know who's car this was (any info/history greatly appreciated); also does the description sound true to a MY99, or more like a MY98 with cosmetic surgery? TIA, K.
  9. Saw a silver Evo getting the business from the Traffic in Dumbarton this morning. It looked like it was getting well looked over - headlights on at 08:10! Thank God I was going the other way; still got the eye though. Anybody know who it was? I've seen it around and it may have green tinted headlamps. Ken
  10. Nae luck mate. Could have been worse later in the year... A bunch of Sierra Alpha Sierra commandeering your motor?
  11. Thanks folks for the replies. Ken
  12. My Scooby Sport back box. It's developed some dirty plooks which I reckon would be taken off with an abrasive, but I don't want to scratch the finish. T-Cut? Ta, K.
  13. As per Stiks pls. I've heard nothing but good things about their stuff. Ken
  14. << 100% bargain here. For everyone who isn't aware this BB retails at £317. >> Got a similar one on my Classic with a centre decat. I think it's louder than the Prodrive job. It burbles at low revs - nice - and really lets rip under acceleration. For the record, the BB and centre cost me nearly £500 (inc. fitting) so this is an absolute steal. Or maybe that just says more about me. If Stefan's still about, he had one with a decatted downpipe on his RB5. I would be good if he could post. Ken
  15. << i have done it but cant remember the number >> Ooh-er Missus.
  16. That's not a bad total so far. Remind me not to buy a house which backs on to agricultural land. I just remembered, I already live in one. Oh dear. Maybe the monkeys who get their salaries renewed tomorrow will help. But, then again, maybe not. K.
  17. Sorry I was late. No 4470. BTW Sci-Steve, I believe the answer to The Question is 6 x 8. This should save you a load of hassle. K.
  18. I notice the highest bidder is some guy called "Phil". Ring any bells?

  20. I've been hearing about these recently and it seems that there as many folk for them as there are against so I decided to buy one for myself today and put it to the test. I wasn't too impressed at first but after I'd sprayed the bodywork using the fine mist setting the sheen was pretty good. There were some water spots left after allowing the car to air-dry but it was pretty breezy when I was working on the car. In short, I remain unconvinced that the £20 I spent today couldn't have been put to a better use (go-juice / pub?) but at the same time it did produce some decent results. At the moment I think the finish is marginally better than a quick wash with Zip Wax and the usual rinse, but not all it's cracked up to be. If anyone is thinking of getting one I hear they are a fiver cheaper in Asda. K.
  21. Nope, I think there were 444 RB5's built. Ken
  22. Looks like I'm not having to sell the car after all if I can keep my nose clean at work. Thank God, I wouldn't want to part with this one except in a trade in.
  23. Thanks M8, Lesson learned. I thought you had gone to The Lusset! Ken
  24. Here goes : If it doesn't work this time, I'll give it a rest. Thanks Dougs. Edited to say :Bugger it.
