Pedro, Just read the Mondeo "Replicant" article. For others, it's a Ghia X done up to exactly match the livery of a touring car. The engine? Bog standard 2.5L 186 BHP Duratec. To borrow a phrase "A sheep in wolf's clothing". Ken

Anybody wanna buy it? Registered 31/12/98, 55K on the clock, over £2K mods. Engine unmolested so should be sound and had the timing belt done at 42K miles when I bought it, so as not to repeat the RB5 experience. I may not have it much longer for reasons I'd rather not go into. Offers anyone? Just testing the water, will try to stick up some pics soon. Not too sure but is that one of the streets that overlooks the South pier? If so, I could tell you a story, but it'll be a PM. I got to Tyndrum and back in just under two hours from Dumbarton. This includes a bit of mountain watching and a wee walk about The Green Welly Shop. Not bad. But I burned just over a quarter tank for 80 miles; L. Lomond is mostly third gear I find. I've done most of the twisty bits of it before without pressing the middle pedal for a dare. Knocks feck out the g/box though I'd imagine. The weather looks set for the same tomorrow so I may carry on to Glencoe to do some runs at the straight bits at Bridge of Orchy and get some photies in Glencoe. A word of warning though to anyone else in the area : I was very careful today watching for black ice, keep an eye on the road-side puddles, they'll give you an idea before it's too late if you're travelling in the mid-morning. Tonight, 28/01/05, I clocked a blue Suzuki hatchback on the A82. The number plate? SUZUKI Shurely shome mishtake? The car was shiny, maybe newish, but I couldn't see any trade plates on it. It's prolly a mistake, but if it's SUZUK1, it must be worth a fortune! K.

What a footer! Pardon the pun. Just finished fitting a set to the Terzo and I found them difficult, but okay if you have very small hands and a third arm (with spotlight attached). Anyway, they look well smart, although I think I should have gone for the blue jobs (call in Justin and the other shirt-lifter to co-ordinate things and get my Feng-Shui right). The thing is though, I had a problem getting the brute force to get the the foot rest screws off. The angle of the Phillips screw was a bit offset, having to de-press the clutch at the same time, so cue Father (6'4", 18 stones, ex. Traffic). He helped me by undoing the fittings but commented by saying : "In a crash, you'll lose your feet with those." Looking at them now, I have to agree, they are a bit sharp looking. Any thoughts guys? No luck Mate, Try More Than. For my last renewal in August I had a quote of £1,300 from Kwik-Fit, at which I'm afraid I laughed at the guy on the blower. Through a a broker I got fully comp (with a big excess) for £470 with my NCD life-protected. Bit of a difference. K.
