  1. On the bottle of cataclean there are instructions for the use of it, do it tomorrow and have some fun whilst out to get the cat upto temperature and allow the cataclean to do it's work. Had my MOT a couple of weeks ago, I normally run a GEMS ECU so fitted the OE ECU and took the car for a good run. I had chosen a MOT station 20+ miles away so the car was nice and warmed up. He did the fast idle test then the idle test car passed so I was happy. Hope you get it sorted. Steve
  2. Unfortunate to hear about this, but on the good side think about the engine you will get. R.I.P wallet.
  3. As previously said great pictures of great cars [H], my only comment about them is would it not have been better to disguise or mask the number plates prior to posting the photo's. As it would not suprise me if some low lifes looked through this forum looking for there next target. I don't see any point in making life easy for them. Steve
  4. A merry christmas and a plastered new year to you all. Any news on when the open days might be so I can pre-warn the bank manager.
  5. Have just re-booted and new disc's onthe way. Will have to see what happens next year if things go well new turbo and re-map.
  6. Would have one heck of a oil leak. Dont think it would drive due to the differential within the gearbox. Having seen the bonus CD for Tokyo Drift thay converted the EVo to rearwheel drive only and had todo work on the internals.
  7. Worth thinking about so please keep me imformed. Cheers steve
  8. You could go for a twin port DV. On light throttle it acts as a recirculating but when being heavy footed it acts as a VTA DV giving the noise aswell. So you can choose to be quiet or loud.
  9. NO. The dump valve is just as it says a valve. It is opened by the vaccuum developed in the inlet manifold when the throttle is snapped shut. If you just connect the pipes together all you will do is circulate the boost from the turbo back through itself. If you are after getting rid of the noise of the DVA then you will have to get a recirculating DV to replace it with. Any other questions feel free to ask Steve
  10. Check all the earths in the engine compartment. Especially the main one to the engine. Also having disconnected the battery remove the main positive from the starter motor and clean it. If you have any copper based grease give the connections a light coating as this will reduce the amount of corrosion developing. Once everything is back together take your car for a good run at least 40 minutes. Hope this helps Steve
  11. It could be worth taking the pads out and cleaning them. Clean out the groove in the middle of the pads and de-glaze them using rough sandpaper. Also check the edges of the discs for ridges and gently tap the edge of the disc whilst rotating it to remove loose bits.
  12. Hope you have got eye protection from the bull you will be reading. What a t00l!!!!
  13. Towards the end of the post it says that it was the police driving on that occasion.
  14. Very useful piece of information, thanks terminator.
  15. I don't think it would normally but as you are going to a different aspect ratio it might do due to the greater difference in overall circumferance. I am sure someone more informed than me will be here in a bit. Steve
