  1. << 1000+ posts, rumour has it his post count matches the number of scooby exhausts he's been through! >> FPMSL Russell
  2. I agree with Kenny to a certain extent. In the Dry they are AWESOME, in the wet they are not too predictable, very progressive breakaway but give no warning when they do go and putting over 400bhp through the Spec 2's over the weekend meant lots of opposite lock - not necessarily a bads thing if you know how to control the car! Overall I rate them highly, but you need to be careful in the wet! Russell ps - anyone needs a set, £300 delivered from my contact?
  3. To be honest, I think it will flow enough for your mods Lindsay but will not sound to "throaty" NAE luck on the H&S backbox front either, he sold it on about 2 months ago for..............£100:eek: Russell
  4. OK! Russell (sneaks in another post)
  5. it gets too boring to pound out these posts Russell ( had enough for now!)
  6. PMSL - congrats to all of you. I'll need to go into full "Gumball Mode" in order to make that figure Russell
  7. Lindsay, should have an answer on that H&S backbox this afternoon, the C/S is a done deal! Russell
  8. Cupraderv, if your running your car everyday (ie, not leaving it for a week at a time), then the 5W/50 will be fine for running through until the hot summer we will no doubt have round here (yeah!, right!) Russell
  9. Ally has hit the nail on the head - It's not about how many go in (would be nice if more could), etc. It is about the children and the fact we are there to brighten up their Christmas! I am sure Gumball had only the best intentions with ref to his questions and his would no doubt hold the childrens happiness above all other things. He is really a decent guy once you get to know him Let's just settle down here, chill out a little and remember the reason this is being done........... THE CHILDREN Russell
  10. Squirrel, FPMSL Why the flock are you sticking your flocing nose into someone elses flocking business Sorry, couldn't resist! Russell
  11. I wondered when this was going to be mentioned! HA!HA! Russell
  12. Don't go Gumball - stay and fight these reprobates! Russell ps - who'll organise our runs now if you go!
  13. Gutted! He will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family in this dark time Russell
  14. It's finally stopped snowing here! Russell
  15. Free bttt for Jools Russell
  16. << << 0141 952 8222 is the office number >> >> I feel few hoax calls from Gumball coming on! Russell
  17. 5W cold viscosity is a little too thin for my liking but I am sure others on here have used it. Try it out, it'll be fine during the winter anyway where thinner cold viscosities are better. Due to the weather, I am switching from a 15/50 to a 10/50 to help with very cold starts, running in Winter, etc. Russell
  18. AAH! Bradz is his nickname! Family relations within Kinghorn Bodyshop AFAIK (quality workmanship, only place Town & County Porsche trust to repair their cars!) Russell
  19. Andy - now thats twice I have to thank you. Once for todays' mapping ( and what a pleasure that was, believe me!) and once for giving Lindsay my number. Forgot to PM it to him yesterday! Cheers M8! ps - those toilets really were first class, but not as good as the steak pie from that butcher round the corner from your unit!
  20. Bit too far for me so I would easily recommend any of the guys that have already been mentioned! Russell
  21. << I still think 10w/60 is fine, The diference in viscosity at 100 Degrees centigrade between a 50 and a 60 is 4 or 5 centistokes, I dont think this would induce an oil pump to fail. I know of many a car that performs well on it and are relliable. >> All well and good but what is the Oil Pressure when the engine is running (NOT AT IDLE EITHER) as you'll find that a 60W runs about 1/2 a BAR more pressure than a 50W. I NEVER SAID IT WOULD INDUCE A PUMP TO FAIL - I SAID ITS WOULD MAKE IT WORK HARDER THEREFORE REDUCING ITS WORKING LIFESPAN! 10/60 is no problem on a TRACK CAR or a DAILY THRASHED car, but not really effective on a day-to-day runner with the wekend thrash being all the abuse it gets. I'm sure it'll be fine but it's just my 2 pennies worth! Russell
