  1. Err - what Moroso sump??? Never had one, never will.
  2. Got to remember that the good old days seem to be gone now, not happy about it but us hardcore track day-ers still continue to go ( that was actually my 29th track day at Knockhill and my 74th track day in total) but I feel that a lot of the casual goers were not interested in this one due to the time of the year.... And the fact that there was still snow on and around the track on Thursday night. I know I had fun as did Ali, can't wait for the next one! Russell
  3. I am quite pleased with how she ran tbh, standard apart from suspension and an exhaust.
  4. I touch goats Russell
  5. Course it was........... you know who cut it and not a set of tin snips in sight
  6. Only other time I am down your way is for the TrackScotland Knockhill track evening on the 4th of July (Wednesday)? Any use? Russell
  7. "ain't no replacement for displacement" Russell
  8. I've fitted over 15 sets of defi's to Scoobs and NEVER stripped the threads on the Block when removing the blanking plug or refiting the Brass adaptor plug. WORST CASE - you'll use a cheap Allen Key and round the hex hole on the blanking plug.................. then fit the sandwich plate. TRUST ME - YOU'LL NOT HAVE AN ISSUE. In fact - if you want to wait until I get home, bring the car to Ingleston on the 1st of July (we're having a sprint event there, your welcome to watch) and I'll loosen the blanking plug and fit the adaptor with the Oil sensor in there...... FOR NOTHING!!!! Would that help/inspire you? Russell
  9. As Ciaran says - it will be fine if you use the right tools. Best to read temp above Cyl#3 as it is the hottest point for the Oil so you can see what's happening temp wise and monitor your oils condition better.
  10. All Scoobs run a 10mm Brake Flare nut
  11. I think your one came of a certain P1
  12. So, is the SDM Gearbox cradle ready to ship out or did you receive a test item to check?
  13. Good to see you guys going from strength to strength Grant, Merry Xmas to you and the guys too! Russell
  14. Ciaran............... I'm near Inverurie mate, how many times do I have to tell you......... LOL Walls, that is achievable. I have a spare WRX ECU with an EcuTek licence on it that can be fitted and mapped to your car and immobiliser for 450. Service would be about 260. MOT and tyres however, would be a local thing (depends upon whereabout you are in Aberdeenshire, where are you?) If you are near Inverurie (I'm a little nearer Pittodrie House hotel than Inverurie myself) then Jim King for MOT and Graeme @ Tawse Tyres can help. Get yourself over onto Aberdeen Scoobies Forum for the more local gen.
  15. COME ON GUYS - SPREAD THE WORD! I have heard a rumour that a certain White Hawkeye from Aberdeen - that has never seen rain or snow in its life - might make an appearance
  16. That patch in the middle of your hose is where a stainless steel metal retaining "t-piece" is placed. It keeps the Jubilee clips in a certain rotation so you can reach it with the screwdriver to fasten/loosen it. It is meant to be there and be like that.
  17. Aye but the real "hardcore" track-goers have already been to Germany - when the weather was good That's why were going to K/H on the 17th Russell
  18. Last I heard, JohnS sent out a bulk email to all of us currently signed up for the above event, informing us that if we didn't get any more entrants, they might have to cancel due to lack of numbers? Anybody heard anything else? It would be a shame to have this happen, where are all the track monkeys these days???? Has the SIDC considered opening up the trackday to other forums (those "nasty" Evo boys, for example)? Russell
  19. Lewis - you should have said the wing was in Newcastle as Ali and I left there yesterday afternoon on the ferry to Holland for our Ring Trip. Russell
  20. I'm more worried about what Cathy was looking at in the first picture Russell
  21. Fair play. Agree on the testing yourself and your car, that's the reason we (as in track addicts) do what we do with our cars, etc. I don't remember mentioning anything about "Not entering because it may be a challange or hard" because I agree with you on that one. If you don't break your car trying, your not trying hard enough!!!!!! and your need that excuse to buy more "gucci" replacements Some might say you have pushed 100% in your car........... or did you plan to go off road at Knockhill in Febraury As I said b4, good luck at the event and I hope you get what you want out of the day.
  22. Adam - what I mean is that, assuming you have all the safety gear in the first place (which I do), your still paying a fortune to do an event you might get through the first round of. Potentially spending a lot of money for what could be in essence a 1 - maybe 2 - hour trackday I'd understand doing it somewhere you haven't been before (you admit you know your down on power, etc so won't be as competitive as you'd like to be....... why do it as opposed to one of your ususal TrackScotland days?) but as Knockhill is your usual "hunting ground", why not save your money for somewhere else? Or is it just the fact that you can't handle the fact your missus is a MUCH BETTER DRIVER Best of luck anyways, hope you enjoy it and it gives you a thrilling day.
  23. Sadly, I won't be home to enter this year (plus I am still reeling at the costs involved in a OHW entry) so I've decided to take a little longer to prep the car and do Snetterton later on.
