  1. Statistacally speaking the most popular year is MY05, and the most popular model is the STI Type UK.

  3. Fixed your pictures for you. Welcome to the club. Good looking car. Was worried when I read "clear lenses" and thought you'd gone down the lexus lights road. The meets - you're not restricted to just one, you can go to all of them! Glasgow ones are first thursday of the month usually at Hillington, Central ones - check the events section.
  4. You're assuming he stopped last night Ally.
  5. The diners club is just a term for the people that meet at Peter's on a Saturday night. Half 7 for an 8pm kick off. Best chinese food this side of China, and great company too. Well worth a visit. I don't think I'll be there this week though as I've got some mates coming over from foreign parts to visit.
  6. Group buy on them over on the otherside recently.
  7. We're all usually wearing our names on our clothes too. Makes it easy to work out who is who. []
  8. Surely a 3" exhuast might be counter productive on a standard (03/04?) WRX with a TDO4?
  9. Welcome to the club Andy. There's a good few Crail regulars who I'm sure would be happy to give you some launching tips specific to the Impreza. Keep an eye out on the events section as there's always a lot of meets on the go. Each of the sub-regions of Scotland tend to have one every month. Your nearest would be the tayside region I imagine. JC Scoob is the RO there. He's a bit of a demon at Crail as he was the outright winner at the ultimate car club challenge last month. As far as mods go - The Blitz system is supposed to be VERY loud, but very good. The most obvious and first choice most people would suggest is a full decat, and then a remap to get the best gains out of it. I think the '99 Classic's ECU can be mapped with the ECUTEK reflash, so you can keep the existing ECU rather than fitting something like the Apexi Power FC. It depends on what you want out of the car as to where you stop with the mods.
  10. Yes, but it can't be obvious there's timing going on as that will cause knockhill all sorts of problems.
  11. HAve a look here for some ideas professor - http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/16307.html and also here - http://www.owendevelopments.co.uk/
  12. www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk Craig, he has the worlds fastest manual shift impreza over a 1/4 mile, which is also the fastest 4wd in Europe (unless that's changed), and it hit 210+ top speed. Well over half of the top 15 cars in our own scottish scoobies drag times have been mapped by him. So yes, he seems to know what he's doing. []
  13. What do you want to get out of the car professor? Drag monster, track assault weapon, b road beast? If you've not done anything handling wise then I'd do that next as it appears you have a lot of power as it is. Although the standard turbo will definitely be one of your limiting factors. Over 400bhp can be achieved on an STI block before you have to look at uprating pistons and such like, then the sky and your cheque book is the limit.
  14. It would look like this - http://www.monstermonster.co.uk/Feature.aspx?id=10726
  15. Duncan at Hypertech told me that Brembo do a nice set of discs for the WRX. I'm weighing up my options though.
  16. The new age has a dimmer wire. It's orange as my defis had to be wired into it for controlling the illumination. Don't see why the classics wouldn't have it too. If your stereo is wired in via an iso to subaru adaptor it should already be wired in.
  17. Gareth. I would have HAILed that as a great result personally. G, I said to the watching SIDCers that you looked very fast off the line. I imagine with a bit more practice in the morning and maybe some shiny whiteline gear you could have taken some time off your overall time.
  18. My name is Stephen, and I'm an idiot.
  19. What one is Graeme?
  20. APS is regarded as the daddy I think. Also check out Perrin, AEM, Powerflow, K+N.
  21. George, get yourself along to the next SIDC trackday on the 11th of November if you can. It's a lot less frantic than the HH days as you probably noticed, and it would be nice to see this car of yours out there as it sounds like a well setup machine. You can book a place in the shop.
  22. Welcome back Fee. Work sucks. But it pays for the Holidays and the Toys.
  23. I have three words. The first starts with F, and the other two are "the warranty" I've done it on mine, and it's a 20 minute job to put the originals back on Neil, and no one will be any the wiser.
  24. My car is an 05WRX with the third cat deleted with a cat removal pipe, the centre resonator section removed and replaced with an unresonated centre section and finished off with a jap slash 5" backbox from hayward and scott with the only other engine mod being an HKS SSQV dump valve and it has not been re-mapped. It made 248.5bhp and 232lb/ft at Dastek. With me at the wheel and running full weight with a spare wheel it ran 14.4 at Crail with a reasonable launch. So Craig is about right. Admittedly I have non-standard suspension, but I don't imagine that would have been too much of an issue. When you say ninja backbox and a centre decat do you mean you still have the resonated centre section in place too? The 05WRX from the turbo back is - catted downpipe, cat pipe, resonated centre, backbox.
