  1. Of course he is going to say that, he makes them ffs. If you want one. buy the fecker and fit it. Happy borewashing. I have seen borewash three times on cars I have owned. Once on a 1380 Mini I owned when I fitted a wrongly jetted webber 45 Once on the Millenium falcon when I got it wrong whilst self mapping on a link ecu I had. And once on Andyjdmstis car before it was the fatboy when he fitted a turbosmart BOV. All symptoms were identical, sudden increase in oil volume due to dilution with fuel making it a poor lubricant. The mini was cured by rejetting The falcon was cured by ajusting the fuel at certain point on a certain row I had buggered up Andys car by re fitting the standard dump valve. Its not a good idea In my opinion. Mind you they said that about Iraq and did it stop anybody? No. Callum W
  2. If your hell bent on fitting a dumpvalve then do it just before a remap and in most cases it can be taken into account during mapping giving minimal ill effect. On a factory ecu map the car is mapped to take into account the fact that when the engine "dumps" boost the air which has been seen by the ecu will be returned into the system again, and the fuelling set up for this. When you dump that air into the atmosphere to get the desired sound and hard on, and its fuelling has not been adjusted to take this into account the ecu doesnt know the air isnt going back into the system, supplies fuel for it anyway and the car runs rich momentaily hence pops and bangs. In the worst case scenario under full load wide open throttle when you change gears and dump the boost, the excess fuel can cause borewash, ie the excess fuel doesnt ingnite runs down the cylinder wall into you sump and dilutes your oil. Its not much but many WOT gear changes and many wee bits of fuel soon add up. This was happening on a car I know and refitting the standard DV solved the issue.
  3. If your car was manufactured before Aug 1995, and is an import you do not require a cat for an MOT. You have to be able to prove when it was manufactured though. Callum W

  7. You can buy brackets that will allow you to put 2 pots onto the earllier discs. Im not sure what type you have but it can be done im sure. Do a search on SN and im sure you will come up with something. Callum W
  8. Is it a Holden?, in fact are you building an interceptor? "Last of the V8s mate!" lol.

  10. Went to the football with a mate and we left his dog in the backs seat, was a silver Sti 1. As we walked away from the car a wee boy said "Mr Ill watch yer motor for a pound" I said"Its okay wee man thats what the dogs for!" ( Was an Algetye) As I turned to walk to the football the wee boy said "Hey mister, can yer dog put out fires?" I gave him a pound.
  11. That would be great mate, as long as he was okay for me to shuffle about at the weekends etc and sort the car out, I have all my own gear so I wouldnt be in his face. I would obiously see him right for his trouble. Callum W
  12. I need to move my track car from its current location to a place closer to me in Stirling, If anyone has room in a lock up or a corner of a garage close by I would be happy to pay rent until April, possibly sooner. This would give me the kick up the Nat King Cole that I need to get the car finished. If anyone can help then please let me know. Cheers Callum W
  13. Ebay, anyone who breaks subarus, forums, anyone who builds rally cars, you just have to keep your eyes peeled and your powder dry. Good luck Callum W
  14. Just edited the settings, got them the wrong way round, just looked in my notebook.
  15. These are my settings, I have put them on every classic I have owned. they make the car razor sharp but you need at least firmer than standard springs to really get the most out of it. As far as tyre wear is concerned, I got 30000 miles out a set of kumho esta driving the car hard, and still got a trackday out of them at the end. Callum W
  16. Coilovers are very extreme for road use, and sometimes hamper putting power down onto the road as the car skips along from bump to bump. On a budget on a MY 2000 classic I would recommend the bilstien inverted struts that came as standard on some models around that time (Cant remember which its been a while since I could recite all that mumbo jumbo) You can usually pick them up second hand and there is a company in scotland who will recondition them when gubbed, I think its in glenrothes. You would need to search. These are ideal for a fast road setup. Onto them I would put eibach springs which are slightly cheaper than the prodrive ones, and there is also less chance of you getting "kid on" prodrive ones sold to you as well. Once that was on the car the geometry I would have dialed in is; front - 1 3/4 degrees camber ( or as near as damn it) 2mil toes in. rear - 1 1/2 degree camber ( or if you cant get it as near as damn it) and again 2mm toes in. This will have the desired effect and make you smile. Hope this helps. Callum W
  17. Not me my dear fellow. If I had been with my classic it would have been on a flatbed, lol. Callum W
  18. I had a CLK 55 AMG pace car spec and I still have the track car, Andy JDMSTI and I did a deal, he liked the merc, I liked his Scooby so we did a deal and Im back, just like you! I always missed Subaru anyway. I nearly sold the track car last year but couldnt do it, it get more extreme as time goes on, lol all I need to do now is get it running again. Latest addition is a proper set of Prodrive seats. I had a GPA cage put in last year and the interior all properly painted. Im just plucking up the enthusiasm to think about wiring in a Stack digi dash. Its always the same though, big list, new things come along and order of priority goes out the window. Im glad I dont run a rally team I would be useless. Callum W
  19. No Dave, no hat. Callum W
  20. Welcome back mate, Ive just returned as well, lol. Callum W
  21. Just at the BP station, you waved I was too busy messing about with my defis and didnt get the chance to wave back, sorry mate! Callum W
  22. Go and drive it and see for yourself. Everyones idea and opinion will differ.
  23. All this from a man who refers to the "torques", would happily hammer a bolt in, got taken to court for thrashing an Aston Martin DB5 within an inch of its life and frequently breaks the UK and european speed limits. He hangs around with a miget who nearly killed himself in a jetcar, a man in a white racing suit who doesnt talk and someone with the personality rating of a tadpole. Doent stop me watching the program though, I love to hate him, lol.
  24. "It was a darkened moon on the 6th of june with a kenworth haulin logs, Cap over Pete with a refro on and a Jimmy haulin hogs........."
  25. I think the bore of a turbo exhaust will be different from that of a sport. However it can be made to fit as can most things.
