About ormiboy

  1. Hi mate if you pm me your email i can send on a 2MB word doc which i stumbled upon. Cheers Willie
  2. Id reset the ecu to start with. if its the maf then the code will more than likely come back i would think. My car did something odd like this once, afterwards it would not idle well at all. Turned out the idle control valve had stuck for a bit. After pulling over and turning the car off and then on again it ran rough then cleared. The stored code was ICV. Is it worth giving the ICV a wee light carress with something?. i.e tap it with yer knuckle. Best of luck. Willie
  3. Great news Gordy!. see ya at a meet soon. Fuel pump still going well. Wulz
  4. Scott, You're good self and Rosie were very welcoming to me when i first joined and at every event since. I can only wish you all the best and like so many others have said, hope to see you guys round about again. I dont know if "Rosemarie" told you we met recently ( i was told off by her mum for calling her Rosie ) but i hope all works out well for you all. You folks are a great team and will be a hard act to follow. You should know that a better a job could not have been done. Thanks and the best of luck for the future. Willie
  5. Just had a text from them this morning offering me a test drive of the new sti. Dont think ill bother tho. not too keen on the looks and dont have the pennies for it anyway. ive had them source me parts and the bloke who did all that for me was a good chap. Willie
  6. When i did this a few months ago i had to strip out the boot and remove the rear seats. Made it a lot more simple. Hard part for me was getting the rubber pipes off the connections on the plate the pump is mounted on. Bad language helped. Willie
  7. Ive also noticed that the roads seem slippy. Thought it was just me. Even with the recent fog here in edinburgh i noticed that the roads were different. Still i one piece so cant be that bad Willie
  8. Raceland is very good, but the livi place is also fine. it was cheap and defo worth the money when i was there about six month ago. But if you can get the folk to drive a bit further then raceland is a whole new ball game. Willie
  9. Had spotted your motor G.mac but it sounds like a animal and id prefer black or blue ( which the car in question is ) If the weather stays this wet i might wait to test drive it. Or back up a wet test drive with a dry one next week. At the moment im 50:50 as to weither or not i bother changing motors but if it feels right and the trade in price for my steed is right then who knows. Cheers folks
  10. Thanks Cal & Dipsy ( sounds like a trippy kids CBeebies show ) It will be a daily driver but im not doing too many miles these days so im quite happy with a sporty ride quality. The current car is pretty harsh but not beyond reason so as long as the newage is not too soft ill be happy. Whats the out the box UK STi BHP/ Torque? And what will andy f be able to get with say a sports cat/ decat using ECUTEK? Oh and whats a reasonable price range for an O3 plate with 70K ish miles? Keep the comments coming, i know i may seem like ive done no research and im lazy but some of the best advice i had over the last few years has been from here so im just cutting out the middle man . Cheers again folks.
  11. Thanks for the comments so far Kind of thought what has been said so far. just dont want to find myself paying 10K + for a car and then a few more to make it as fun as the current one. But as said test drive is the way forward and if all goes well tomorrow ill try to organise one. Im sure ive read various bits about bad rear shocks on newages, so am i just looking for noisy shocks or can they be detected by the handling? Cheers Willie
  12. Hi folks. Ive been thinking about changing car for a bit now and spotted a 03 plate STI for sale near by. Not been to see it yet but will try to check it out in the next few days. My current steed is sitting on STI suspension, strut braces, with full decat panel filter and apexi ( andy f ) running upwards of 280 BHP 250Ft/lbs on th e dastek rollers. So question is, do you folks think the STI may feel a bit soft compared with my current setup ? Am i likely to feel any difference in power? I know its difficult for you folks to say but ive never driven a newage STI to compare against. However given the hike in power on my current car and the stiff ride quality and great handling ( Extreme motorsport prodrive geometry ) i currently enjoy id always had a feeling that my current car would be quite similar to the STI . If this is the case is there any point in me changing? so peeps any comments welcome. Cheers Willie
  13. Thistle garage, Easter road are comming in at £98 each. Auto image £85 so looks like they get the job. Cheers PMac
  14. Hello all. Hope you are all well. Can anyone recommend somewhere for toyos, supplied and fitted in edinburgh? Two rear tyres required for an MOT. I think they have only been on less than a year. Must be my driving style . Cheers. Wulz
  15. nice result. possibly time to start shopping for a new gearbox!! I hate threads like this cos i was quite happy with 280/250 ft and not too sure about spending the extra 1K -1.5K to get the next jump up, but reading this makes me want to dust off the credit card and join in on the fun. Take care now. Willie
