  1. Production Engineer/Technical at a major Juice producer in the SW!
  2. Same here, been dragged around the shops in Weston-Super -Mare by the Wife, could not have a drink yesterday because I had to look after Her after a trip to the Doctors, got Home and the first thing I did was crack open a Grolsch, it never touched the sides as it went down! AHhhhhhhh.............
  3. I drive an older Turbo 2000 AWD, makes all sorts of strange sound, and to be Honest when I first drove the car it felt a bit agricultural compared to previous car that I have had, the heat shields make a creaking sound as they cool, the clutch has the classic judder when cold (some times), and the gears whine as I reverse! They are not the smoothest of cars to drive, but I am a total convert to them now! If you are going to shell out on a car then get it checked over by an expert, the RAC or AA do this for a modest fee, and get it HPI checked as well, a lot of Scoobys get nicked or crashed! I nearly got a Grey STI but found out it was still owned by a finance company before I got my car.............
  4. Why flog the car after you have spent all this money on it? All you will do is give someone else a bargin and start again on an other car, you will probibly never recover the lost money by selling it!
  5. Dont do it, I have owned Italian cars and they bust for a past time, look great, go great but will let you down when you most need them and part cost an arm and a leg.... stick with the Jap stuff.
  6. Are digital films and Pictures admissible in courts these days? I might be wrong but I had a conversation with an Electrician mate at work a while ago (He use to fit alarm systems) and He said that Digital photos were not admissible in Court, possibly due to the ease of tampering with them, Video tapes are OK but not sure about hard drives. I wanted to leave a small cheap Digital camera in the car incase of an accident, so I could take evidence of the incident (I had hit a Tractor a few Years back that pulled out in to the road and had to threaten the Farmer with the Law before he would give me any info about His insurance).
  7. I was an indentured apprentice and had a contract with the ROF. How long will you be tied to the firm after completion of the HNC or is it just whilst you are in training? I worked from the ROF for 10 Years after completion of my apprenticeship and left with a good redundancy pay out, went straight to Gerber foods in Bridgwater and been there ever since, 15 Years. If a company invests a lot of cash in training they want to have the use of your services when you qualify, so not surprising they have put a clause in to keep hold of you!
  8. Multi skilling is all that employers want today, I did and Mechanical craft apprenticeship with the MOD at ROF Bridgwater. I am lucky in that my present employer multi skilled me, I have had to training in Electrical installation and basic Electronics to C@G standards, PLC`S, Ladder programming (Tetra pac TPMC and GE FANUC) and got a C@G in Digital electronics. They are moving away from Tetra Pac toward Combi Block machines in my part of the works so I have also have had a lot of new training in their systems as well, as they are the next Gen. of machines (Data Bus systems and so on,still struggling with this stuff!). As with most things you will find that if you start something then it never ends where you think it will, Technology push's forward and so you never finnish training, you are always having to keep up with the next thing around the corner! Can make for an interesting job at times.........
  9. Best of luck, I did my BTEC HNC at Bridgwater Technical collage as part of my apprenticeship back in 1978, the old collage is no longer there as it was moved to a new location. Don't know if they are the same these days but be prepared to put a LOT of work in! Did a mechanical course..........

  11. Tried to post Picts from Street from my AOL album, tried E-mail to Scooby Princess (and Louiserat?) but mails returned, and site will not allow large attachment.HHHEELLPPPPP.................... I will try again on Monday as my son needs the PC now, see ya all...
  12. Yes, an enjoyable Night had by all! Took a few Picts (some of which I have managed to repair on my PC, must remember to use a quicker shutter speed to stop blurring of Picts next time), but how do I share them from my AOL album? Any ideas please.......
  13. Dave (spanners) @ Tracey will be there if the meet is still on!
  14. Heres one.......It is a bit rude so don't read on if you are easily offended............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................Two Women go out one Night for a Drink and on the way home they need a pee, so they stop off in a cemetery to do their duty. The First one wipes her self with Her Knickers so She dumps them in a bin, the Second one wipes Hers self with a reef. The next day the Husbands of the Two Women meet up in the Pub, and the Bloke of the first Woman said to His mate "I think my Wife is having an affair, She came home last Night with no knickers on!". "You think you got problems, Mine came home with a card in the crack of her arse that read FROM THE LADS AT THE FIRE STATION WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU!"
  15. Anyone else had trouble logging into the New Southwest forum? Got the E-mail about the new one but after registering keep being sent back to the log in screen even after entering my screen name and passward...................
  16. Hi from Spanners (Dave) in Bridgwater, see some of you in street at the Oct meet!
  17. Yep, dropped thought the front door this Morning.
  18. Would it be possible for you to e-mail people who have ordered on line an issues or so before their subs is due to run out, so they do not miss an issue?
  19. Nice, is there any way of finding out how many issues I have left on my account (Preordered via net), as I am not sure as to how many I ordered!
  20. Impressive motor, but I will stick to my Guns. The front end is just not Subaru, it is just wrong....
  21. Why did you get an Impreza? I get mine last Year after looking at various other cars and settled on the Scooby. A few Years ago before Scooby ownership I ran an MKIII SRi Cavalier, not a bad car just a bit to ordinary. One day I was returning Home from W-S-M and apon hitting the dual carriageway before Bridgwater I passed a slower car. As I pulled in a dark coloured Scooby shot past like I was standing still, the Wife said "Look at that Flash *astard" as the car shot away into the Horizon. I thought yes and I have to get one of those! That is one of the reasons that I ended up with the car, also did some research on the net after drawing up a short list of possible cars, weighed up the pros and cons and ended up with the Scooby.
  22. Cheers for the Number, I will pass it on,but may not need it now as I found a members club with some info in the Technical pages! I will print them out and pass them on to Nige at work. Cheers again...
