  1. Impreza 2000 Turbo beats BMW Z1,Fiat Coupe,Escort Cosworth,Porsche 968,Honda NSX,Farrari 456GT,Maza MX-5,TVR Griffith, and the Lotus Elise in the sub 25k future classics 25th special editon of the mag!! []
  2. Spotted a stickered up classic in ASDA in Bridgwater Somerset at 4 PM, gave the other driver a quick wave!
  3. I would find out if She is cheating on you with one of Her Girlfriends first!! You never know, it could be a VERY interesting Xmas present She has arranged for you............[]
  4. Toyos should last a lot longer than that, I have heared some Yokohama wear quick though.........
  5. Anyone know of a handbook PDF file or sim for a UK 96 car? I have seen files avalible on the net for works manuels but not handbooks............[:^)]
  6. Had a look on the web site, someone posted here that they were to do a test drive, it says Mr Plato will be driving the car. Not sure if it is this weeks show or next as I have not been watching it on a regular basis, but will try to catch this one!Glad he got to drive it and not the other muppets............
  7. I have had a set put on My MY95 Impreza Turbo AWD, T1-R 205/45 17" . First week was a bit disappointing until I asked about and found out they work better if run at higher pressures than I used to run my Pirelli's at. I mailed Toyo uk support and they informed mr to run them at 33 PSI front and 32 PSI rear, made a lot of difference in the grip! Lovely now............
  8. Audi RS6 Price £57,705 (!!!) 0-60 4.5 Sec. Max Speed 155MPH Subaru Impreza 2.5 WRX STI Price £26,995 0-60 5 Sec. Max Speed 158 MPH I would get a Scooby and keep the 30 Grand differance on price for mods on the car to make it quicker than the Audi,a Holiday, and maybe another 2nd hand Scooby as well !!
  9. You will find quite a lot of cars in this price bracket, but do not forget running costs will be higher than the RS. Also remember that some Major services cost a lot and if the car you are looking at is due one try to Knock the price down with the seller, parts are expensive too. The Turbo `ed cars drink fuel like an alcoholic at a Cider farm if driven hard (you may well only do 2 Miles to work but you may well find your self going for unnecessary blasts quite often!! I Did ( AND still DO!!!! )). Get the car inspected and HPI checked, and get an insurance quote for the car you are looking at,can you afford it? Find out what mods have been done as this will affect the insurance. A lot of main stream companies will not cover these cars unless they have a Tracker fitted, and transfer of a tracker cost me £400 for life cover on the car I have if I remember correctly. Uk cars are easier to insure and have serviced at main dealers, they used to refuse to do imports at one point but not to sure now. And if you do go ahead take your time choosing a car, take someone with you that is subjective as it is easy to jump into the first car you see and fall in love with a bad one.I had a look at about 15 cars before I got the Turbo I have now, there are a LOT of badly moded and thrashed cars out there........one car I looked at had 4 different brands of tyre on it,that said something to me about the suspect service History of the the car................ Good luck..........
  10. If the set up is the same as my car (N plate Impreza Turbo 2000 AWD UK car) then you will find that you do not have any leads as such, just some wiring loom going to coil packs on each plug. Cannot remember which plugs I used (Champion platinum I think). I replace all the coil packs and plugs ( 0.7 MM gap ) on my car as I had an imtermitant miss-fire in damp condititons and at 90,000 the coils pack start to fail apparently. Did the plugs and coil and (touch wood) the car has been perfect since........... Hope this helps............
  11. Anyone know a link to see if they sell it in my area or presonnaly know of a station in the bridgwater somerset surrounding area that dose sele it? No tescos in Brigwater ..........
  12. Errrrrrrrr are Subaru trying to go into recevership, if they make that the next Impreza then they are mad, not much use as a hatch-back either, look at the narrowing of the rear door and high waste line that you will need to lift things over to get into boot area.........concept car surly?
  13. I am always inclined to wait and see when it comes to new fuels or additives, my cars Cylinder Head Valves burnt out when I ran Formula Shell back in the 1980`s (around 86-87 I think). The fuel was withdrawn if I recall correctly due to it attacking the valve stems............. I always wait and see how others get on with an aditive/new fuel before taking what could be an expensive plunge now! My old escort ran fine until I started using it and within a few Months it started to poor out smoke and fumes and oil, and then the fuel was on the news.........so I tend to be on the cautious side then it cames to manufactures claims these days.
  14. Michelin about the same as Pirrelli`s on price, and they wear less too dont they [] ? ......... I have 205/45/17 ZR on the car at the moment, I think the car should have 16" wheels as standard on it but it came with the 17" wheels........ If I went down on profile from 45 to 40 would that return the rolling dia back to nearer the correct one of the original car? This would also give me bigger choice on tyre packages as there appears to be more 205/40/17 ZR tyre in that range............ the 45 profiles limit me to a few brands........... [:^)]
