Well so many of us suffer from the problem of the rear struts knocking on the newage sti's i thought this might be of interest. I'm on my 2nd set & guess what???......Yep they've started knocking grrrr. As i'm out of warrenty replacements are gonna have to be paid for out of my own pocket but i've found this on another forum that could save us all a few quid. Shows the reason why the shocks go & how to solve prob without buying new shocks. http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/04_sti_re...trut-t9972.html

Good shout, my mate has one of these tow ball mounted carriers & they're fantastic. No risk of paint being rubbed by any straps or pads & so simple to use.

Lovely looking car But then again i would say that Really not sure about the white wheels though, did you get the pff7's with the car? Still think they're the best look fore the 1's. Darker wheels give a nicer contrast to the body colour. Don't mess about with it to much they're fine as they are

Can't recommend the Performance Friction disc/pad combo highly enough, fantastic stopping power. There's a lot of us WR1 owners using this set up with the Brembo calipers & we all rave about them. Great on the road & are supposed to be great on track but i can't comment on that as not used them on track. For example of track performance Dynamix (Duncan Graham) used them for time attack on his hawkeye scoob up until the start of this seasons TA & always rated them & said there was no fade, if they're good enough for time attack they're good enough for me on the road lol

As inspiration for future body mods to your RA?

Was out for a run up the ullapool road on sunday to blow the winter cobwebs out of the car. Davie if your still up there you HAVE to take a drive round the Gruinard bay costal road its fantastic. Come back down the ullapool road & turn of at Corishallach (SP?) gorge & follow the road all the way round the coast, goes round to Gairloch then back down to Garve. Thats the route i took on sunday & its a cracking drive I'm lucky as these roads are all local to me so i'm kinda spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding where to go for a run

Gee Wr1 replied to t1000arab's topic in Scottish Scoobies

Mine's been a wedding car to, it was the bridal car -
Iain might have hit the nail on the head there, i mind a wr1 on the owners forum had similar problem ages ago & after much scratching of heads it was found to be the fault. Yes it is made of plastic & can wear down, its starts intermittently then gets progressively worse. Thats why it took a while to diagnose as every time he took it to the garage it was fine.

As standard the pipes return oil vapour into the throttle body to be mixed & burnt in the cylinders during the combustion process. The idea of a catch tank is to draw the oil vapour away from being returned & burnt of by collecting the vapour in the tank. The 2 different versions are a closed tank that requires emptying or one that has a return going to the sump.

It's not a factory model. Saw this before its a grafted on front end from something else, i think it was in Banzai i saw it & it was from Singapore or somewhere like that.

The carbon door cards look great Got a bit of a carbon fetish myself so the more the merrier imo

It's probably due to the state of the roads we have up here Go find the biggest pothole you can see, take photos of it, contact the council & blame the pothole for the damage to your spring & make a claim It's worth a try lol. I'm only on 2nd set of rear shocks on the wr1 in 4 1/2 years so i seem to have been quite lucky.

Nope not yet, it hibernates in the winter so no rush. Let us know how you get on with your new kit might add them to the options list.

They rival big brake kits for performance & now where near the price of AP's etc. Your looking at around £240 a disc & bell & £130-150 for pads. Igot mine for a good deal as i got discs, front pads, rear pads(not fitted yet) braided hoses & 5.1 fluid. There's a few of us on the Wr1 site using them now with no complaints only praise . Duncan Graham (Dynamix) runs them on his hawkeye time attack car gave us the heads up on them he said there's no need for big brake kits if you use them, if they're good enough for time attack constant laps they're good enough for me.

Very nice Dave Hope they don't rattle all your teeth out on our lovely glass smooth highland roads
