  1. As a long term member of both forums i've read through this topic and laughed at some posts and thought ffs at others. This place has been a ghost town for a few years now and your wondering how to revive it? Well your certainly going about it the wrong way! Any young owners would be put of by just by reading this thread, you have them labelled as chav's and boyracers ok there is some lol but your forgetting about the young enthusiasts who are going to be put of reading the likes of this topic and go join .net instead. You lot are so wrong saying .net is all youngsters far from it it has a wide age range. PMSL at monsterenergys post above moaning .net is to busy and to many posts/topics, which would you rather a thriving moving forum or a stagnant forum where there's hardly any new topics in a week and when there is nobody replies ? I'm not defending .net either, there's stuff i don't like/agree with on there as well like the recent goings on and the likes of George and others leaving the forum, its not perfect but hey nothing is. But forum time for me is usually when i get in from work and sit down with a coffee to relax and there's stuff to read on .net as sidc has bugger all going on. I'll still continue to check in here like i always have done and hopefully it might pick up again but i think its hey day may have passed as so many of the folk from that time have moved on and no longer on the scene. I'll always have fond memorise of Grant & Imy's mad runs and even of Gumball dressed in his race suit for one lol.Btw any of you still in touch with Grant pass on my best to him as last i heard he had some health problems, a true gent and made us welcome on the first run we went on when we didn't know anyone. Oh and just to bring up something again changing to the "internatioal" rather than "impreza" drivers club was stupid whoever came up with that idea hang your head and those who backed it shame on you lol it lost the club its identity
  2. There never seams much to post about on here anymore i'm pretty much down to a weekly visit now, it used to be my 1st port of call when i got home and was having a coffee. Even a weekly visit there doesn't seem to much going on between visits it really doesn't encourage me to pay to be a member any more. Sorry but just giving a honest answer, its a shame really as it used to be great back in the day.
  3. 12k for a GB270 which is more or less a wrx with ppp is WAY over priced imo. A absolutely mint Wr1 with 21k miles just went for 11k on the owners club, it was priced for quick sale but shows what you can get for that kinda money just now and you get the lovely 2.0l engine in a wr1.
  4. Duncan's really good he's done a few wr1's with happy results. If your cars standard at the moment then you'll notice a huge difference 220-230 mark to 275-280 around a 1/4 extra power than you have now.
  5. Only seen the name mentioned in either/both Jap Performace & Banzai mags think they advertise in them and they had a pretty awesome NSX featured in one of the mags.
  6. Stick with your blob it has the true scoob engine a nice revvy 2.0l Oh and we all know blobs are the best lookers too
  7. Aye Dave we'll be out and about as usual. We were talking about it tonight with J's brother who's doing it, stages are- 1. Daviot 2. Ord Hill (2 runs back to back through stage) 3. Rogie (extended to 18 miles) 4. Kiltarlity (new stage never been used) 5.Glen Urquart (If thats how you spell it lol) We'll be 4x4 it in J's orange freelander not the scoobs.
  8. Lewis i know Dave and he'll know i'm not having a go at him personally but he will also know he's guilty of putting .net down on a number of occasions.
  9. Dave stop putting .net down it's a hell of a lot better than whats left of sidc, i'm on both so are a lot of folk. This place is a ghost town now! I only bother checking in maybe once a week and nothing has moved in that week your lucky if there's been a couple of posts let alone any new topics! Not putting sidc down as i've been on here for years but i wish yourself and others would stop looking down on .net! its that kinda snobbish attitude that has put a lot of folk of sidc!
  10. I used to have one on my old bug wrx & i think its the best sounding system you can have on a scoob, the burble is so deep and growls on full throttle, the note gives you little earrgasms Looks great as well. . . .But it is really loud!!!! Almost to loud at times ( i never got the bung when i bought car) Its very boomy in the car at cruising speeds & can give you a headache. Anyone it the back gets it worse and can't hear people in the front, if you have kids or a dog they are gonna find it to much. Try hear it from inside a car and try to think can you live with that all the time which will be hard as you're gonna be sitting there thinking this sounds amazing i gotta have one lol
  11. Haven't used it for ages myself but what i mind is if you tick the pic you want to post then go to bottom of the page there's a button saying something like generate image tags, hit that & it'll go to another page giving 4 different tags & explains what each tag is for. Find the one that says forums and right click & copy the tag then paste it in your post. Thats the way i used to do it as i always forgot which tag was which.
  12. The Wr1 exhaust system is the same as the ppp system fitted to newage sti's. Sounds like you've been sold something else probably of a classic. There are so many things on the likes of ebay that say wr1 & then have pics of something of a classic.
  13. Yeah last Sunday was not stop & chat weather lol. Aye could be up for that Dave & Yep i would invite Connor & a few other boys along too, Connor is a really nice bloke & his site is really good thats why i'm never really on here anymore & not renewed my membership.
  14. Lol should be SIDC big gay power rangers group Haven't been out for a proper run in a long time in the car.
  15. Hi there, Looking for ideas of what shapes of bike racks will fit the rear hatch of a classic wagon, not roof racks thanks. Have seen plenty but not sure if some will fit with the 2 spoilers on the wagon. Any pics you have would be appreciated. Cheers.
  16. Thats a bit of Dipsy! Peters out there pushing the modding to the extreme & call it "dog rough"! What are you doing to your car that can come near what Peter is doing???? Ps you forgot to mention you had a JDM you usually have to drop it into all your posts
  17. There's vpower in Nairn. Have a look a Squiggles thread about camping/roads in the scottish of of topic section for road trip ideas in the north.
  18. Here's a nice trip route for you Grant, Dingwall up to Garve - Watch the contin to garve section its more like a rally stage with blind over crest of camber corners that could catch you out if you don't know it. From Garve follow the Ullapool road, turn left onto A832 at Corrieshalloch gorge. Follow the A832 road right round coast taking in some lovely scenery like Little Loch Broom, Gruinard Bay(anthrax island) with its lovely sandy beaches, Aultbea, Poolewe & Gairloch (more golden beaches). The A832 starts of gentle twisty roads before getting to more long open section till just past Little Loch Broom then it gets really twisty, once past Gruinard Bay you climb up round the coast round some lovely twisty tight road that continues all the way to Gairloch From Gairloch follow the road down to Achnasheen which is a nice flowing road. Then back down to Garve, this section has really long nice straights for miles just watch as police do go up there from time to time with the camera as its just begs you to open the car up. Then back to Dingwall. I can do it in a tank in the wr1 with some spare, not sure what the Banana's like for fuel but as a guide the wr1 only averages 200ish miles from a tank. Another is Garve to Achnasheen then onto Kyle of Lochalsh. From Kyle you can come back the way you went or back down the glen to Invermoriston then follow the Loch Ness road back to Inverness. Another vote for the Struie road that Dave mentioned, thats my local fav right on my doorstep to V power only available in Inverness & Beauly, but the are Gleaner Oils petrol stations about that have 98 super on tap like Skiach Services(for Struie & north trips) & West end filling station (as you leave Dingwall on Garve route) I'm sure you'll enjoy & have fun which ever routes you take in Ps watch there are a hell of a lot of dear on the roads in the highlands just now especially at dusk time, my mate hit one last week just after leaving mine.
  19. You canna compare a modded classic to a standard newage! To compare you would have to have a similarly modded newage & classic Mod the newage then compare it Newage is a better chasis for power its 200% stiffer than a classics. Look on the bright side at least you never bought the new hatch Then you'd have something to moan about Couldn't agree more
  20. Nope it still looks minging just now its quick minging
  21. Thats my teritory, some good routes suggested already. Watch out on the Loch Ness road as its just been added to the scamera van routes so they're bound to be out in force, pic in paper about in looks like one of said spots is just as you come towards Drumnadrochit. As Scooby222 said the south side of the loch road is better, not so many tourists at this time of year & total blast to drive. Try heading up the Ullapool road A835 & turn of at Corrieshalloch gorge onto the A832. This will take you the coastal route round past Gruinard bay (anthrax island) Altbea round to Gairloch then back down to Garve. Great drive with lovely scenery one of my favs, nice mix of open road with some amazing twisty tight bits. Will 2nd Scooby222's route this is also a must drive route if your in the area. Big D's route is also another of my favs, but make sure you turn of the A9 & take the B9176 Struie road so you get to take in the best route (& my test track the struie) Not many 999 on the roads but camera vans on the main roads. When your near Inverness coming up A9 DO NOT SPEED on the last section of duel carridgeway by Daviot, the police & camera vans always sit there its easy prey for them. Oh & if your on the Garve to Achnasheen road watch out for them there to, its lovely long straights for miles with good visability & prob the best surfaced road in the Highlands it just begs for a blast but 999 sit up there at times especially weekends when all the bikers are out. Main unmarked car used in the area is a darkish grey Saab estate & it gets about the area. I'm sure you'll have fun wherever you go as there are just SO many good roads up here we are spoilt for choice.
  22. Al i'm sure they're ok but just i wasn't impressed with them with our dealings. I was gonna give them a chance when they got the dealership back but.... It took me 3 days of ringing them to try & get a quote for how much it would be for the bigger 30k service, everytime i was told i'll get someone to call you back shortly & still never got a proper answer. 1 call to Dicksons & got price within 1 minute. When Jacqui bought the wagon as a run about she put it in for a oil change & general service usually around £100-120 & asked them to look at a couple of things. When she went to pick it up she got asked for £700! Ok she needed a new radiator but that was around £130 + fitting that was the only thing they called & asked for the ok to do, So expecting a final bill of just over £300. They did a load of other things that were not ok'd to do & never did the things that were asked to be looked at. She argued with them & they dropped bill to £600 still way over & above what was expected or what she was told. She paid it grudgingly & put it down to experience & we've never been back & won't be in the future! Where as my dealings with Dicksons has always been happy & efficient & i've never not been happy with the service recieved. I bought 2 cars from them & always had my servicing done there. I always get a courtesy car from them & phone calls to keep me informed while car is in & if anything needs done to it. Proper customer care Give them a shout
  23. Ah ok i didn't know there was a recall for remap on the new sti's therefore yeah better to stick to a dealership. Pistons will be going as the hatch sti's have cast pistons previous sti's had forged pistons. Call Dicksons to see will they do it, always had 1st class service from them & they're still official service agents.
  24. Take it your needing it mapped for lower occtane fuel? Somewhere that does Ecutek like AndyF, not sure if Wallace Perf in Aberdeen do it. Wouldn't think Aird motors would be able to do it anyway.
  25. NO WAY was not impressed with them when i asked about servicing let alone remap a car, thats why i still use Dicksons. Think it was Scooby222 that said they said to him "why did you put that silly exhaust on your car?" it was a ppp system & they didn't have a clue
