  1. Can't be bothered with this nonsense.
  2. Why do I have a bad feeling about where this topic is heading? Gents, please comply with my requests not to circumvent the swear filters. It is in the forum rules that profanity is not permitted. I have no desire to get heavy-handed, but will if you persist.
  3. This came from a guy at work and I'm assured it is not a hoax/spam: There is a tax rebate available for parents who have had children between April 1986 and April 2003. Its due to a fault with child tax credits from when it was inland revenue not HMRC due between this period. Which range from £549-£1048 Anybody can claim regardless of circumstances. All Claims need to be in at HMRC by 31st January 09 to get the rebate. millions of people are eligible for this but are not aware. As its not well advertised. It will not affect your current claims or benefits according to HMRC as its for a period around or before 6yrs ago. simply download a 11ctc from HMRC . go to HMRC.gov type in 11ctc into search box and download the free form from the link. fill in and send off to local tax office. Link to form MoneySavingExpert Topic
  4. "By clicking Check This Registration above you give permission for your details to be passed to third parties and used for marketing purposes." i.e. Please bombard me with spam and junk phone calls.
  5. This "t**t", as you so succinctly put it . There is a problem? Oh, and don't abbreviate words to try and circumvent our swear filters. They're in place for a reason...
  6. You don't have to pay. You just have to give me a GOOD and VALID reason to change it as it screws up the integration between the membership management system and the Forums and is a bit of work to sort out. Must admit I don't look kindly on people trying to circumvent our swear filters by typing things like "5hite" - especially when "shite" isn't even IN the swear filters
  7. Nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. My thoughts are with you and your family. Andy
  8. This topic appeared to have been locked by accident. Now unlocked.
  9. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Dougie is the ultimate enthusiast and the perfect gentleman.
  10. I'm in Kincardine, nae far from Paul and the girlfriend is in Musselburgh. You're not pumpin my bird are you?
  11. Very well done once again guys. Would have loved to make it up again this year, but had my usual last minute Xmas shopping to do Once again, congrats on a job well done
  12. Imy, I know we've had our differences, but I'm 100% with you on this one. When I first saw it posted on Ebay I thought "Is this what we did the recce for?". "Is this what we stuffed all those envelopes for?", "Is this what we went through all the stress for?", "Is this why I stood at a junction in the pissing rain for 3 hours directing traffic for?". I know Grant and yourself have done shitloads more post-event than I have, but I find profiteering on this scale beneath contempt. 40%? Peanuts. 100% of profit was the only ever acceptable donation.
  13. Should it be posted though? The SIDC promotes sensible events organised by enthusiasts of a like mind and 99.9% of members are exactly that - enthusiasts first and members second. What we have here is a case of people who are not SIDC Members organising events that are not Subaru orientated, where they don't care about their responsibilities, the sort of people they attract or the effects of their actions. Should we really be letting these people promote these events on this website? I really don't think so as it undermines everything this Club stands for and only drags us down to chav level. If they want to let the chavvy Nova brigade do donuts in some retail park then fine, let them go ahead, but I do not put my free time into this Club and website to see that and I doubt the majority of SIDC members would want any kind of association with that kind of event.
  14. Correct me if I'm wrong..... I recall being asked to delete a topic relating to these non-SIDC MK meets. I don't recall who asked me to do it now as it was some time ago, but the reasons were good. If I remember rightly, these were non-Subaru meets being arranged by non-SIDC members and they were attracting a "chav" boy-racer element who were neither SIDC members nor even Subaru drivers which the Club rightly did not want to be associated with nor be seen to be promoting.
  15. Looking for a bit of advice from the audiophiles (ED-209?) on ICE upgrade for the motor. Not really used the pishy Subaru stereo much other than radio, but my current total obsession with the Leona Lewis version of Run on auto-repeat, being pissed-off with the cable running to the Tom-Tom and lack of phone hands-free since my Nokia packed up has made me look at upgrading the head unit to something decent. Been looking at Pioneer and like this jobby. Want Double DIN, no Forester pockets for me Also thinking that if upgrading head unit then doing that and not upgrading the crap Subaru speakers is a bit like having a bawbie enlargement and still being an ugly twat i.e. useless! so thinking about speaker upgrades too. Not necessarily into massive subwoofers in the boot, but something that is going to sound good without being OTT. I'm too old to be pumping it out at the traffic lights Would prefer an independent specialist to supply and fit (will NOT buy from Halfrauds) - Glasgow, Edin, Stirling or anywhere in between. Any recommendations welcome.
  16. Oops - my bad for not keeping an eye on topics I reply to. If you go to your membership control panel providing you are an SIDC Member you will see the ability to upgrade to Scottish Scooby Supporter. The upgrade is only available to SIDC Members, but proceeds from Scottish Scooby Supporter status, as stated, get put back into the charity events in Scotland.
  17. Okay, I never thought I'd hear myself saying this, but... As some know, I work for Symantec - the makers of the Norton Suite. That wasn't through choice, but them buying the company I did work for (I don't work in the security side of the business). Even "post-merger" I was vehemently against anything that had Symantec/Norton on it as being bloatware that slowed PC's to a crawl, screwed up Registries and was impossible to uninstall. It was almost a mission on my part to drive people away from my own employers. We were recently given the opportunity to try the latest Norton Internet Security free of charge. I was "No f***ing way am I putting that s*** on my home PC" but a couple of colleagues who, like me, do not work on the security side of the business, but had tried it rated it and reckoned I should give it a go. Blimey - I know you might think I'm biased, but I'm absolutely not. If it was s*** then I'd be the first to say so, but the footprint is now virtually nothing, the processor/memory usage is next to nil (it even gives you a screen where you can monitor both they're so keen to let you see how light it is), it updates itself every 5 mins or so with the latest threats and it doesn't warn you about crap you don't need to know. I never, ever, thought I'd hear myself say this, but it's actually a bloody good product and is way lighter on resources than any other AV/Protection product out there. It FINALLY does what it should have done yonks ago.
  18. This is obvious. He has clearly seen your photoshop skills and wishes you to photoshop a pair of breasty dumplings onto a picture of himself so he can see what he'll look like post-op (It's a bit like those guys who want to see what their cars will look like with a certain make/model of wheels, but obviously a lot more personal) I'd expect a "you do ma minge" PM assuming he's happy with the work you do on his new boobies. And yeah, I'd guess the shhhhhhhhhh means he wants it kept quiet. I know I would if I was a pre-op transexual
  19. Only just noticed this poll. I want nothing at all. My part in all this was small. I just used my geek abilities to help a good cause where I could. If it should go to any individual involved in this event it should go to Grant and Grant alone as he's been the driving force from day one, has been the consumate gentleman throughout who held it together when everyone (myself included) was collapsing around him and has shown levels of professionalism way beyond what could ever be expected. He held it all together and deserves the recognition - though I daresay he'll disagree.
  20. There should be some funding available from those who signed up to be "Scottish Scoobies Supporters" - The whole point of making that membership status available was so any monies raised could be totally directed back into the various Scottish regions to support their charity efforts. Need to speak to Phil though as I have no control over that side of things.
  21. Are you still talking about the photo?
  22. 2 left now which by my reckoning means there's about 20 minutes before the first whinging post on Scabbynet from those who didn't get in on time :waving-santa:
