No they are not the same but I think I know why the price is so high. Chances are that they have quoted you for the sensor and the gousing, which you don't need. If they try to charge you for fitting bear in mind it's 2 screws to remove the old one and the same 2 screws to secure the new one. Even I could do it.

[] The absolute last thing I'd do is thrash it. With an unknown fault you realy are playing with fire.

Save your money for the fmic

Check the injectors caps are all secure too. They can be knocked loose when working on the motor.

Next year mate - sidc road trip!

Could be a lot of things then, best to start with the simple stuff like plugs and coil packs. Can you be more specific about "holding back", are we talking about a sudden loss of power, slightly down on power, misfires etc?
-
It could do. If the maf is away the car could be pulling ignition out to try and stop it detting. If you reset the ecu (disconnect the battery for a few hours) it should flash the CEL when restarted if its gubbed. You could also swap it with a mates and see if that helps. I wouldn't thrash the car, cold or hot, till you get to the bottom of it.

What is the fastest you have ever had your car ?
colin_ross replied to craig mac's topic in Scottish Scoobies
In a car? Over 170 indicated, probably a real 160. Bit faster on a bike. Mr Squirrel has it on tape somewhere. Thank goodness it was all within the afe confines of a test track, you'd have to be out your tiny mind to do it on the open road. No matter how cool you'd look. -
PCP deals for purchase of a new Scooby ?
colin_ross replied to ~ ~ Cal ~~'s topic in Scottish Scoobies
Bingo bongo. Having gone down this route myself I'd recommend it. I've no fear about modding the car to the hilt and it's not a problem if I have to take it off the road for a month or two. Plus you get more value from the mods, when I get in my Subaru after 2 weeks running to work'n back in the focus it still feels fast. Don't know if it would if I was driving it every day. -
If you really want to be carbon neutral follow AndyJDM's example and build your car out of carbon fibre.

The Playsatan Investment Solution Services get a good write up. Sign all your money over to P.I.S.S. and their Outstanding Finacial Facility will take care of the rest. Gets my vote!

Thanks To All invovled!!!! (Hypertech , Subaru, Bing)
colin_ross replied to TheTerminator's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Everyone has a a bad experience from a dealer at some point, I know I have. Thats what sticks in peoples minds, not all the good ones. I think that the real problem stems from the fact that we are all enthusiasts and want our pride and joys to be given the red carpet treatment but to the guys working at the garage it's just a job. If you can find a dealer that has fellow enthusiasts working in it then you're onto a winner IMHO. -
What are you buying for your scooby next?

Is it clever? -
Have to agree with this one. Alan is the man and has spent more than a minute or 2 drafting out explanations so that even a total dumba$$ like myself can get to grips with the finer points of Subaru tuning. What a star.[]

Yeah but that was when you bent over to pick up a burger. []

Better driver?

Damm my slow typing, it's already got me into trouble today [:$]
-
Don't see how that would make a difference. Would you have different classes for classics and newages, different turbos, ones running funny fuels, stripped out and full weight, green ones?
-
Sorry John, it was the most up to date copy when I clicked on it. Must be too slow a typist.

Still waiting on Crail updating their website with the times. I know I got a 12.1 but don't know if that was my fastest or what my terminals were?
-
Well I know mine couldn't. I had to make do with a 12.9. Aye, when you were standard!!!!!!!!!! Graeme (methinks I need more power) Yup, totally standard. Cats in standard ecu ,turbo, i/c everything. Witnesses to prove it too.
