  2. Have you tried putting more water in??? Take it my commission cheque is in the post Si?
  3. Awesome. Where'd you get them done?
  4. Think there is normally a thread on Scoobynet on the run up to it and you can just stick your name down. First come first served and about 80 places IIRC.
  5. I'll have £15 worth too Pete. Dunno how to get he cash to you though, might have to come through special.
  6. Just noticed the RT's on the right lane are massive, almost like it never started until the whole car had passed the line or something?
  7. FFS, how long's he had your money for now?
  8. Not exactly, had some issues with the disc and calipers running at an angle and then with the wheel clearing the caliper[:@] Will all be sorted though. Andy, they may be big but I've heard it's what you do with them that counts.[]
  9. I know but look at those brakes. Piiiiiiiiiish []
  10. My old (standard) ecu was able to automatically fire the i/c water spray when the boost reached a certain level but this didn't take account of the act's. AFAIK there is a gizmo that will trigger when the act's get too hot an I think that would be more worthwhile.
  11. An ej22 is a non closed deck 2.2 and it does not have piston squirters. I think it was used in a non turbo'd version of the leggy but not 100% sure. You can use it as the base of a turbo engine but it can't be pushed as far. The ej22t is the one you want, if you can find one. Closed deck, piston squirters and the basis for my 2.33.
  12. £4k for 400 is do-able. Cheapest way would be to buy a new ej257, slap some sti5/6 or P1 heads on it, get a decent blower (20g should get you there), a set of 550's or bigger, uprated fuel pump, fmic would be a good idea, headers and exhaust and then a remap. Not sure about the 2.2 engine option, depends what you mean. Is it a ej22 or ej22t or a stroked ej20? It can be done on a 2.0 of course but a bigger turbo would be needed to make sure you hit the big 4.
  13. So how do you map it then? Surely dyno mapped cars are the fastest? []
  14. But where would we find cars loud enough?
  15. I think Grant may be right, type r's have two pot brakes at the rear due to not having abs and as P1's have abs I thing they use one pots at the back, hence a different hub. Anyone with a P1 care to check?
  16. Good call. Besides, Russell already let the cat out of the bag re the new engine [].
  17. Cost, complication, fabrication.... Look before you leap Craig as I would imagine a project of that nature would end up being a very long term one, meanwhile you'd either have to miss your fix of crail/knockhill or take on the newage.
  18. I'm a bit old for a lot of things but I still do'em anyway []
  19. Nowt to do with me mate. Anyway I prefer kicking it old skool.
  20. I know of a local newage that'll well above the current crop that should be ready by the spring. Don't want to say too much and steal the owners thunder but anything less that 500 ain't really gonna cut it any more.
  21. Hi Iain and welcome to the club. Import or UK? Comes down to your personal choice really. UK's will always be seen as a safer bet as you can look into their history and have a better idea of their mileage through old mots etc, that and insurance is easier. Imports (my preference) are more of a leap of faith as you'll never know if it spent a night on its roof in downtown tokyo or not. The flip side is a higher spec and more car for your money IMHO. If it's a classic you're after I'd always say buy on condition rather than mileage but a FSSH goes a long way too. Also check the owner out as much as the car. If he's banging on about how he's smoked this, that and the other, how loud the dump valve is and how it'll do 160 all day long walk away. Ask him about whats been done to the car and who did it, what kind of fuel and oil does he use, etc etc. If he/she is an enthusiast you'll be able to tell. I've seen Grants car and it looks like a good'un but my advise still stands.
  22. My bad [:$]
  23. Playboy or gayboy?
