They are just round the corner from where I stay. I've never bought from them but they have some really nice metal there. I did hear one story form a workmate that bought from them years ago about a car with a history. If you keep your eyes open and have your own hoi check done you'll be off to a good start.

^^^^^ John St - getting his rear end tampered with. Again.

Even with his busy schedule Andy can always find time to lower the tone. Good work that perv

I've been in the garage all day, where else would I be Don't fret over what's an average knock count amigo. As mentioned every car is a bit different. Different mechanical component can make for a noisier/quieter motor, even your choice of clutch or blow off valve can make a big difference. What really matters is that you don't see a drastic change in your own average. If it does it can be a really good clue to look out for all the usual suspecys, maf, boost, coil packs, fuel etc. Your mapper will have taken all of this into acount when he cel your cell warning. When I had the pfc the car alwas ran in the low teens so Andy set the warning for 25. I saw the cell once when the maf went on me but I know Johnnyr6 must hasve seen it as well as he brought the car back with a 90+ displayed on the peak hold after showing Wilky what it could do (det it's t!ts off apparently).

1. If your sidelights won't switch off look for the parking light switch on top of the steering column . 2.Use the search function on the forum before asking the same old question . 3. The best first mod for an impreza is the exhaust (backbox at least) 4. Buy a classic 5. Make sure you get regular quality oil / filter changes every 3 - 4000 miles 6. Always run the car on good quality fuel - V Power/BP Ultimate/Tesco 99 and add octane booster for safety in an unremapped import 7. Avoid "chip"ing an impreza - get it remapped by an expert like AndyForrest (Apexi for classics, ECUtek for newage) 8. Sell the Newage and buy a Classic 9. Always wait till the engine is nice and warm before giving it full pelt and let it cool down befrore switching it off 10. Upgrade your brakes before modding the engine 11. A VTA dumpvalve isnt really a good idea unless your car is getting remapped to compensate for it. It will momentarily make your car run rich as the ecu gives fuel for air which has been dumped and not recirculated. All you are missing is the gay noise. 12. Solid rear droplinks and a decent suspension geometry set-up are probably one of the best sub-£100 modifications you can do to a standard car. 13. new ages will undertseer when at the limit 14. If you have a classic get Strutt Braces. The improvement is outstanding! If you have a new age...no luck! loL! 15. Clean out the boost solenoid once in a while and dont fill engine oil right up to max. 16. Go to the SIDC track days at knockhill, you get free tuition from an instructor if you want (plus ensure you wear Cat boots far better that way!!!!) 17. Love every minute of driving and owning it (it will make handing over the credit card much easier 18. Goto meets/Knockhill/Crail and tell us who you are?We don't bite sometimes 20. Join the SIDC and you'll get discounts on insurance and dealer supplied parts in addition to track days. 19. For some obscure reason there is a lot of mention of goats & homosexuals in here. Do NOT let this put you off our forums. 99% of our members are "normal" but we are all fans of The Hoff. 20. Always prefill the oil filter when doing an oil change 21. Dont believe everything you read on the forums. 22. Send off for a Shell card 23. What ever BHP you get, you will never be happy 24. BLUE is the best colour. 25. Is your car standard? - leave it that way. 26. Watch out for the Impreza's "lift-off" oversteer. It's wicked, particularly on a wet Knockhill! 27. wave to other scoob drivers 28. never buy a set of lexus rear lights[+o(] 29. sidc love some photography of your beloved 30. dont sell your scoob you will regret it and will end up with another 1 31. The best place to hang out on saturday nights is at OSIDC 32. Modding is for MEN 33. Going JDM is for winners..........leave the chocolate UK's to the Willy Wonka lovers! 34.^^Andy speaks the truth, JDM is the way forward!! 35. K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid and don't mod what doesn't need modding (dump valves etc)

I'm by no means an authority but more that willing to cast my eye over your setup or let you compare it with mine. Just so you know I have both harnesses and the OE seatbelts so have the best of both worlds. Even if it gives you some ideas it could be worth it.
-
To be honest mate I think you'd be better taking those things off. I'm sure they feel secure and without seeing them in the flesh I don't want to say they're not up to the job. But......... the one on the flor will not be subjected to tension stress but to a torsional one. Not good. They might hold, they might not but I wouldn't risk it.
-
Oh yes. I used to do not too bad with my astra gte in the early 90's but will never forget the night I took my old mans e30 325i. I nearly wrote the thing off on every corner with wild oversteer. It was my first time with a rwd car.
-
Best result - skooshed part an evo 6 on the way to knockhill. What made it my best was the fact my clutch gave up 3 seconds before and I passed him in neutral Worst result - Was horsed by a s3 when I had my uk97. Turns out the guy had tuned the t1tt!es off it though.
-
Don't be fooled Stephen, those are 13 inch wheels.
-
George, do you not feel that the banjo bolts will restrict the flow of fuel? How big are the holes through the bolts? Nice looking hardware BTW

It's not your accounts, looks more like your pc if they have done it on more than one forum. Where else do you log on from or can anyone else access your pc?
-
I seem to remember there is a multi plug connector that will run to the dccd ecu in the car. That in turn runs to the dash and controller connections. John St has removed more than a couple so may be able to help with the finer points.
-
Sounds like he's talking about John St.
-
Col's right about that bolt not really being up to the job but my main concern is where it's located. Sit in the drivers seat and strap yourself in. Now pull the seat tilt lever and move forward as far as you can. Are the straps pulling you back or pulling you down and how far fprward can you move?
-
4 beers and counting. Expect them to get worse as the night goes on.
-
Click your two outer rear seatbelt in. See the points that are holding either end of the lapbelts in place, that's them.
-
Good work. Didn't know halfords did tumble dryers.
-
As above, JW you're dicing with death with that setup. Fic to the rear seat belt mounting points.
-
No, I think you're on the right track. What I meant is my harness lap belt sits in the same place as my normal lap belt as they use the same mounting points. I will add a crotch strap on at some point though even if it is just for the silly name.
-
How do you reconcile the above statement about the lap-belt not sitting as good as the oe one as you, or should I say I did, mount them to the oe belt points?
-
Here's mine (excuse the cr@ppy phone pics, plus it's dark out there just now) I still have the normal ones in and use them when picking up the kids from nursery or going to get my hair done etc. If I'm on a charge however, I put on my race face and then the harnesses. They hold me in the seat much better and give me more confidence. As for meing able to duck out of the way of something, don't make me laugh. If a crash is bad enough to bring the roof or pillar in I seriously doubt I'll be able to make a concious decision to move out of the way of it. I'll be too busy being rag-dolled all over whats left of the car.
-
I take my car off of the road most winters and I also set the car on stands and disconnect the battery. Instead of changing the oil though I normally remove the engine, replace the turbo, drivetrain, fuel system, engine manaagement and replace most of the other major components too. Doesn't everyone?
-
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^??????????????????????? Stephen, if you can find something you like that suits your circumstances I'd say go for it, buy the wrong car though and you will regret it. I'm not so sure it's just the cars that brings everybody back, there's the scene as well but I must admit that even that seems quieter than it used to be.
-
Of course we'd never do anything like that. Would we Simon?
