Here are the final points results from the karting after my wee formula was applied. I haven't ordered it to take into account best position finishes or fastest lap times, so if you've got the same points as someone else, you may or may not have beaten them. I just marked you down as = for convenience !. 1 Dave Morgan 94 2= Brendan Watt 90 2= Marc Whalley 90 4 Paul Healy 88 5= Graham 87 5= David Joseph 87 7 John Paul 85 8 Craig Alsop 84 9 Willie Ball 78 10= Callum Shand 75 10= Fraser Shand 75 12 Simon L 73 13 Brian Jamieson 70 14 Steven H 65 15 Robin Watt 62 16 Kevin Peebles 61 17 Alan 59 18 James Thomson58 19 Simon Arnot 57 20 John Stewart 56 21= Ed 55 21= Don 55 21= Mark Paterson 55 24 Paul 52 25 Kenny McGee 50 26 Johnny 48 27 Garry Mitchell 40 28 Scott 39 29 Alex 37 30 Steve 32 31 Dave Robertson31 32 Craig Johnson 29 33 Gordon 27 34 Adam 23 35 Liam 22 36 IanJ 20 37= Ian Craig 19 37= Susan 19 39 John Shand 18

Anyone else doing the Mazda event at KH this weekend?
dave_morgan replied to dave_morgan's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Lol. It's on both days I believe, but I'm there on Saturday - 12:45 on. No idea what it's going to involve, but there's talk of an RX8 race car and all sorts, so could be a fun day . There's bound to be some sale push too, but I can put up with that if I get a free blast round KH ! Wonder if they'd take a steamy P1 part ex !! -
Sorry to hear that Alan, Let me know how you get on though, as my gasket has gone too . Currently fighting with the warranty company, but would be interested to know where you end up getting it done and roughly how much it costs. Cheers Dave

Top for the morning crew... I'll post the individual points results later if I get quiet at work !!

OK, team results are as follows .... 1st - Subaru Classic - 266 points 2nd - TVR - 249 points 3rd - Ferrari - 228 points 4th - Ford/RS - 227 points 5th - Lotus Elise - 182 points 6th - Subaru Newage - 170 points 7th - Subaru Wagon - 140 points 8th - Vauxhall - 128 points 9th - Renault/Peugeot - 111 points 10th - Nissan - 100 points Thinking I'll probably give the Nissan team a wee hand next time and fly my GTR banner that day !! Big thanks to all for coming along last Saturday. I had a great time, and I it seemed to be the general concensus that everyone else did too. Thanks to Raceland as well for a well run event and for the extra 'team event' wine that they kindly donated free of charge. I'll probably arrange another one later in the year, even if I don't have a Subaru !!
-
For the purposes of the team event I devised a wee formula to give a total number of points for each person, taking into account which final each person was in and their total points after their final. From these points, I then added up the 3 best scores for each team to give a total for each car club or car type. I tried to ensure everyone had at least 4 in their team so they'd effectively have a spare result they could drop, but it didn't work for all teams I'm afraid! The teams were : - Subaru classic (non wagon) - 6 members - Subaru newage - 4 members - Subaru wagon - 3 members - TVR - 4 members - Elise - 3 members - Nissan - 3 members - Ford/RS - 5 members - Vauxhall - 3 members - Renault/Peugeot - 4 members - Ferrari - 4 members I split up the Subarus into 3 teams as I reckoned it would be a bit of a whitewash with 13 people in one team. As it happened the top 3 subaru drivers were all classic drivers anyway, so the result would have been the same regardless! I also had to move a few people from their 'real' team to a second choice, as there were a few teams with one member (Brian in his Noble M12 for example!). Anyway, it was just for fun so hopefully nobody minded too much! The final team results will be listed shortly...once I remember where I saved them on my laptop !!

<< Good to see that you are still muffing the competition..... >> There was some good competition there this time though. Going into the final there were 3 of us with the same points. I had more first places so got the pole, and then it went down to fastest lap times to determine 2nd and 3rd! Certainly no time to doze off this time

Sorry it's taken me so long to get these up, but this has been a difficult week for various reasons. Still no luck with Subaru Warranties so my P1 is still off the road . I am still waiting for a reply to my most recent letter so I am not the happiest Subaru owner at the moment!! Anyway, enough of that - Here are the results from last weeks karting event... Open wheeled racing on mountain roads !!??!! = Mental !!!!
-
Thanks John, I'll check them out on the way home. << We got a 12 foot trampoline at our local B&Q for £120 but didn't get the safety net. A mate of ours got the same but with a safety net and they have had 3 trips to casualty so far. We haven't had any injuries so far and hopefully won't.(please God)Don't know if thats any help m8. Nicky >> I was in 2 minds about the safety net I have to admit. Were the trips to casualty for fingers getting stuck in the netting etc ??
-
Looking for a 14ft+ trampoline with safety net etc. Anyone know of anybody local who supplies? Plenty on ebay for around the £200 mark, but they're all charging 60 odd quid shipping, as they are so heavy!! Would rather use te £60 to line a Scotsman pocket or get a bigger one! Dave
-
<< But if he buys it...i already have a new motor lined up to get to TOTB in for the rest of the day. >> Huh ?!?
-
Excellent day out though and well worth the drive in my opinion. Virtually every car on the strip you can drool over for some reason or another. See some pics from last year here.... http://community.webshots.com/album/169915380xCUhEg and here : http://community.webshots.com/album/170342080uoHIXU AndyF finished 3rd last year, but I think Subaru will be even stronger this year. Top speed run is probably their weakest event, but I imagine there will be some developments on that front. (as long as the head gaskets hold together !!!!) Likely events this year IMHO : - Sub 10 sec scooby - A selection of 200mph+ runs - Someone giving Rocket Ronnie a good challenge this year !! More details her : www.totb.co.uk
-
Is Steve G still around - would he be up for a trip again do you think? (without chocolate sweeties in the back !!!!) Dave
-
Sounds good to me. Is he likely to buy it there and then? Could probably arrange a good one-way fare for you if required !!
-
99% def I'll be going Johnny. Spare seat available if required ! Dave

Just a quick post to remind everyone that the karting event is TODAY (Saturday). Event starts at 3:30pm, so please try and be there for 3:00pm so we can get everyone signed in and suited up etc. All you need to bring is a decent pair of shoes (no sandles please !) . Everything else is supplied (Helmet & race suit). If anyone doesn't know where Raceland is, just head South from Edinburgh on the A1 and look for the signs saying 'KARTING CENTRE'. You really can't miss it. If you hit Haddington, you've gone too far! It's about 10 minutes from the New Craighall area. Full directions can be found on the Raceland website (http://www.raceland.co.uk). I have PM's or emailed my mobile number to everyone I can so you can contact me if you're not going to make it at the last minute, or are running late for any reason. If you didn't get my number, phone anyone else on the list and they will probably have my number (Spooks, JohnS and Dougster definitely have it). I am still un-decided how the "team" aspect of the day will work, but will give it some more thought tonight and tomorrow morning. In the mean-time, please work out who's team you'd like to be in. We have a lot of people who haven't put down a team yet, but at the moment we have the beginnings of teams for : - Subaru (11 drivers) - Elise (2 drivers) - TVR (3 drivers) - Ford/RS (2 drivers) - Unknown or less than 2 (21 drivers) Maybe we'll end up with Japan vs Britain vs Europe. Votes and ideas on a postcard please ! Anyway, it's looking like a great day of racing ahead, so see you all at 3:00. Oh final note. The event is likely to be around 3 hours long, perhaps slightly longer as there is more than the original 32 drivers now, so expect to be at the track until around 7:00. We will then be retiring to the Stables Bar in Edinburgh for some food and Apres-Kart refreshments. Please note that there is a good selection of food at Raceland too, so you don't need to fill up before going there. See you all later today, and if you have any last minute additions, please text me or phone me just in case I don't get online in the morning. Cheers ! Dave
