  1. as if by magic he answers! let me try........ can't wait to hear Kloon's explanation.......
  2. hoff poses may be alright, as long as they are sensible and not too cheesy [*-)] bandit - i dont think that the ladies here would were those skimpy outfits.... fleeces and long johns will prob be more appropriate also, April shouldnt feel left out for not having a scoob.... she's got your motor LOL looks like i'm going to have to smile sweetly and ask folk at KH and Dastek if i can take a photo of their car, with them standing slap bang in front of it[]
  3. hi Mandi, welcome to the forums [] I'm a female scoob driver and i get various looks when i'm out in my scoob, from young chavs in their souped up cars glancing over then doing a double take with their mouths open and gaping, to middle aged men giving me the eye and wanting to race. i also get the ar$es that look, see i'm female then dont let me out/sit really close in front/behind me. That really winds me up....... as if i shouldnt be driving a scoob or something and i'm insulting their masculinity by being behind the wheel [:@] craigwrx's reply is spot on, by the time other male drivers realise its a female driving a scoob, its too late to respond/react. its not always like that though, other scoob drivers give me a wave and this bunch here are always courteous on the road []
  4. have a nice holiday craig and hope you dont get caught up in all the recent mess re airports and stuff
  5. As I am extending the clothing line, I want to update pictures of the clothes. This is an opportunity for those who want to "model" to help me out to produce a catalogue that shows off the clothes to the best advantage with the intention of attracting new members to the club and want to buy the clothes. I need new pics of the hooded sweatshirt, long sleeve top and the polo shirt. If you want to do this (and have any of the above clothes) then either email me JPGs of you wearing them, or let me know you are interested and catch me at a meet/event so I can take your picture. I'm not looking for catwalk/glamour shots here....... ones of you next to/washing/posing with your car will be great. Also, I would like to get some group photos of the scottish scooby community to use for the front page so please can you wear your tops to KH and to Dastek [] ps - if this goes down like a lead balloon, I'm going to have to badger some of you to help cos I know who's bought what []
  6. and its the fact that he's used a Limited Edition commerative car as a start point [:'(] Its lost the things synonymous with a RA - black wing mirrors, badges on boot lid etc. Cant see from the pics if he's left the signed McRae seats in [*-)]
  7. OMG thats just bad and is sooo not the way ahead for me. I guess a bonus is that the mods that have been done appear cosmetic. If he's kept the original parts and badges I suppose you can restore it back to standard (which is what I'm assuming you'd do Brian). Strange that he's not described the condition of the engine, but then again........ looking at the car its not so strange.
  8. PMSL I was on low boost till I get used to the new layout []
  9. thats quite a good quote given that you are 25. Try Greenlight (sympathetic to performance car/jap import owners) and A-Plan. Scoobynet has a dedicated insurance sub-forum which I found quite helpful when I was taking insurance out on my RA. edit to add try searching for "Insurance" on this forum, there are threads regarding it
  10. Duncan, I'm looking at T-shirts and they start from age 1/2 so that should be cool for BabyBadger. I'll investigate if the fleeces can come smaller than age 3/4 St3ph3n, not sure if I can get pit crew style tops as they are a bit specialist and my supplier may not stock them. I'll investigate for you though [] also ice scrapers will probably be sticker-type branding and my chappy uses embroidery machines so doubt I can do them. Might be best to follow this up with Phil and see if the SIDC shop can do them
  11. Craig, Peter's not been to any meets recently, he was on holiday during our July meet and was busy doing up his restaurant when we had our August meet. Frank, thanks for noticing about the lack of reviews of the service at Peter's restaurant LOL
  12. dave, whats that thing with the row of circular buttons under your Pioneer screen? [*-)]
  13. not really sure what to say to this but: 1) surprised you never mentioned anything about the service [] 2) it certainly is getting a lot of attention/free shots/folk getting out the car with white faces 3) never had goodyears, i've got toyo proxes and they seem to do the biz for me 4) not really going to need a CG lock with my driving style [] 5) dont drink fizzy drinks unless there is vodka in it LOL
  14. ok - some good suggestions but would like some input from everyone...... 1 - hats fleece hats may be a possibility but: a) would you like your name on it and if so, where is the best place to put it (front or back)? would it look daft with both SIDC and Scottish Scoobies logos on them? (I cant really have SS logo without displaying the SIDC one too tho I can ask Phil if I can just put SS on it cos a hat is too wee for both) 2 - kids clothes a) t-shirts - will one style be ok for girls and boys? jumpers - i can either do a "pull over the head hoodie" similar to the existing Fruit of the Loom one or a "full zip fleece with no hood". Which one will be more durable/worn more often? the hoodie goes as far as age 5/6 but the fleece can come for age 3/4. c) would you like their names on the clothes? help, its not easy expanding the clothing line to suit everyone [8-)]
  15. all your banter is crazy like..... what ever day you go, which ever route you take hope you all have fun and take plenty of pics........ cos i wanna see []
  16. Brian, sounds like you've decided on a jap import RA (good choice []) but it will be difficult to find one that meets your requirements for your budget. have a look at the For Sale forum here there were a few RAs for sale a couple months back, incl a v2 for £5250 on the road. The RA forum is a good site and it is dedicated for RA owners, higher chance you'll find one thats been looked after. if you are prepared to do some homework and travel to view cars (there are more choices down south) you may hit the jackpot and find the car you are looking for. I was really lucky in finding my car, but it was the result of a couple months research and a weekend of travel to view possible cars. I had the same sort of target car in mind and was prepared to spend money looking at cars rather than buying them straight from the Autotrader website...... my post on how I found my car all the best for your search for a classic (again good choice!) and I'm sure that Grant will be happy to help []
  17. craig, only 3 tops have been ordered so far, so i guess you'll have to wait for a while if you put an order in. If its all right with everyone, I may hold off collating an order this month......... am planning to update the clothing range to add mens T-shirt and childrens T-shirts. if there are any other items that you would like (caps, etc) let me know. Sensible suggestions please, and no St3ph3n, I'm not doing Scottish Scoobies thongs []
  18. haha, very true craig very true. We women over analyse everything [] and another cloud of confusion that i had has dissappeared....... there ARE two Vicky's on this forum - one spelt with a "Y", user name in lower case that I'm guessing does the rally navigating, sells random used impreza parts and stays in Fife....... and one spelt with an "I", user name upper case that I've met once, drives a silver classic and stays in Hamilton....... aha [8-)]
  19. hmm i reckon for the end of August, gives folk time to work out what to order and to budget for it in their wages. hopefully we can pull together 20 garments or more by then
  20. rabskyline, i disagree with your post and cant see where Jamie (HI SOOB) said that it was scottish people said they have a problem. If you read his post, Jamie refers to the Scottish section, not Scottish people. I dont see why you find his post insulting or offensive. He copied the forum guidelines that all users should be aware of to illustrate what the guidelines of posting on this forum are. The discussion in this thread is regarding why loafy's thread was locked and I think Jamie's post provides the clearest "line in the sand" as to what is acceptable and whats not.
  21. Martin, aye that will be fab. you're a [*]
  22. further EDITED to say order is going in on Monday 6 November..... this will be the last order of the year I've already done two orders of Scottish Scoobies clothes this year and have raised about £120 for Santa Cruise. I thought I would refresh this for the newbies I have had some positive feedback on the quality of clothes, not to mention how handy it is to have your name on your top so folk know who you are [] . If you are interested in ordering your own togs, this is what to do: have a look at the catalogue in the thread in Announcements to see what you want fill in the order form and email to me “micra_wrc AT yahoo.co.uk (drop me a PM to let me know) pay me [] – either via cheque through the post or cash at meets wait 6-8 weeks whilst I get them made up I’ll let you know when they will be ready to arrange pickup/let you know they have been posted
