there's no sound to the clip that I've taken, you will all have to make raspy burbling noises for 17 seconds
-
was in G Macs car for some heat and got some on the road footage of the Banana. I've taken the sound out as you can't hear the car over the noise of the wind. 1st time I've tried linking to a video uploaded to photobucket so fingers crossed this works edit - cant get the link to work, will ask Grant to upload it onto You Tube

heating controls?? stereo?? pah who needs them when you've got a nice set of white defis with a green backlight..... and look! they even match the dashboard
-
pics taken on my point-and-click camera. we'll get more taken once she's had a wash

just home after going with Grant to pick up the Banana. He decided against getting it trailored and drove it up the road instead. many thanks to G Mac for the run down and convoy back. today was the first time I'd seen it in the flesh and wow, that body kit gives it such a road presence. Its very mean and aggressive on the road, in your mirrors, in a car park. ride quality was ok - suspension was surprisingly soft given the coilovers that are on it (bilstein i think) the noise inside the cabin was err loud - we had to shout to each other over the roar of the engine + exhaust bucket seats were comfy and the padding is great - it takes away the metal-ness of the yellow roll cage and stripped out interior. TRS 5 point harnesses were great once you were strapped in, but its getting strapped in and out that takes the time. No more "jump in and go", it takes us like 5 mins to get ready haha from my [female] point of view the Banana has no heating, no stereo, no door pockets, no sun visors and no interior light....... but it doesnt matter, just being in the car makes you my RA has now become the luxury car... how bizarre! Grant will probably post up a more technical view once he stops driving around with a stupid grin on his face edited to add pictures of the Banana in Skye - see page 6 post #120

ah one of my favourite roads. Sorry for slight hi-jack but "had" to post this pic and agree that a good run around the B-roads keeps the scoob happy
-
Cathy, try blotting it with sellotape or any sticky side of tape and carefuly lifting the tape off - i find that this tends to lift any left over residue
-
wouldnt bother me either but just wonder if its worth it? you'll still get stone chips after the respray/touch up....
-

micra_wrc replied to micra_wrc's topic in Scottish Scoobies
some folk that stay further away have already booked boats/accommodation etc and intend to make the trip. plus the request to cancel came in too late for me to pull the story from tomorrow's Motorsport News... Grant and I need to be at Lanark to catch people that wont know its been cancelled. -
Mcrae Gathering Presentation Is Cancelled
micra_wrc replied to micra_wrc's topic in Scottish Scoobies
aye things were a bit frantic and last minute last night. just hope that we've managed to get the word out to everyone in time, especially the irish boys. not to worry, it will happen on another day. ps, dont tell anyone Gus but the reason we cancelled it was because you cannae make it, our star-interviewee-with- who was it the BBC - film crew? -
McRAE GATHERING PRESENTATION HAS BEEN CANCELLED Sorry for the short notice but regrettably we have to cancel the presentation of funds to Jimmy McRae that was due to take place on Sunday 15 February in Lanark. I’ve just been told that the presentation cannot go ahead and that we have to cancel it. I will give more information in due course. A rescheduled date will be announced as soon as we have one. Please do not travel to Lanark on Sunday. Please spread the word. We will update the Gathering website with this information as soon as we can. sincere apologies for any disruption we have caused, this really is our only option and there is no way around it. imy

I've listed one of our spare prints. and I seem to have calmed down now after a glass of wine and I'd rather you guys didnt mess with her auction....
-
goddammit after the high of selling the last 6 prints for £3,700 ish last night there's another print on ebay... this listing is particularly grating none of the money will go to charity, she's selling her "ex partners" print (i hope the poor boy knows that she's doing this), doesnt want to get "involved with the politics of why she's selling it", has 0 feedback (makes me think she's signed up to eBay just to sell the print) and she cant even spell "MCRAE" right and why do people think that having the original packaging is a selling point? arrgggggghhhhhhhhhh its really starting to get on my nerves now. do these people know that it is a CHARITY EVENT to remember a fallen hero??? so what do you think.......... should we list another print and compete against her auction? i've still got a handful of prints left....... imy
