  1. some pics of the Banana in Skye on the Highland Fling weekend. we didnt go on the run around the island on the Sunday morning so headed to the Skye Bridge to wait for them let me point out the sights while we wait to hear the thunder of the flat four coming over the bridge
  2. thank you scooby222, ScoUk and scooby girl for taking the time to organise such a beautiful weekend. i had a fantastic time and there was a nice mix of driving, scenery, rest stops, eating and drinking as well as good craic, plenty of laughter and companionship i had the feeling its going to be a memorable weekend when I got a phone call 10 minutes after leaving Inverness from Craig lostboy...... who had already got lost and was heading towards Perth congratulations jon and debs, what a romantic way to propose however you do know that we need to come to the wedding now, eh?! the Banana was fine and lol at scooby222 at me "enduring the bareness of the banana ..." i'll add my pictures into the other thread imy
  3. Dale you may have already left but scoobysailor, jonboy, midnight, bobbyc are staying over in Inverness
  4. great write up, felt like i was there with you had to lol at some bits good luck with the rest of the TA rounds, it sounds like you know what you're doing
  5. good to hear its sorted min i'd suggested to Grant that we leave the Banana at home and take the RA so you could ride with us (Banana doesnt have any rear seats, or back doors come to think of it) ... but he isnt having it jon, hows yours running?
  6. for those thinking of making a weekend of the Handover, there are rooms available at Express Holiday Inn, Chester Racecourse its a bit dear (£90 for double/twin room) but you're slap bang in the racecourse so dead convenient for Sunday activities. we're still sorting details out but there will be things to see, its not just "hand the cheque over, thanks very much, see you later" imy
  7. got the reminder to renew my Tracker subscription and thought about this thread. any updates? good news?
  8. have a read here Kwik Fit were doing it but there's some mixed reviews
  9. convince her that going on track is the safest environment to learn how to drive the scoob and handle the car... she wouldnt want you to lose control of the car if its snowy when you're dropping her off at her parents now, would she?
  10. is that even possible? hope you get it sorted in time Rich fingers crossed the chaps with the last minute hiccups get things sorted nothing like a bit of drama and car-fixing before a big event lol
  11. really looking forward to this... is it too early to start counting number of sleeps?!
  12. yup I agree and i really really hope that their paths dont cross ours, I'd be really pissed if they interfere with the work that Grant and I have done with the McRae family and Prodrive but I doubt that they are the rallying type... i've always been careful to refer to us as "Scottish Scoobies, a region within SIDC" when doing stuff for the club. I wonder if Phil will be ok with another forum/club using our name... and I too know that Connor and other members signed up to that site will read this thread and dont want to start any arguments. Its just that I share ScoUk's concern about potentially confusing people that are new to the community with 2 forums that are similarly named but have totally different identities and interests
  13. knew about this site. it seems to have attracted the old "saltire scoobies" crowd doesnt bother me, they are an em "different & younger" lot
  14. looks good cal fancy popping through to Inverness next Sat morning so we can see it in the flesh? oh and bring your wee boy too, I'd like to see him as well
  15. lol glad you got sorted in the end, bet you'll be prepared if it happens again is it wrong to feel smug cos my RA doesnt have central locking and my alarm fob isnt used to unlock the doors?!
  16. how about splitting the profits evenly across each Scottish region and it can go towards their Santa Cruise? Imy
  17. Scottish Scoobies is big and varied enough that we can cover different group shots. Each month can have more than one picture, I'm thinking one main feature picture but then perhaps 4-6 smaller pictures around the main pic? something like 1 - group shot 2 - Gla region cars 3 - Edn & Lothian region cars 4 - Central region cars 5 - Elgin/Crief/Beuly region cars 6 - Aberdeen region cars 7 - SIDC track days 8 - competitions - hill climb, Scooby Sprint, Time Attack, 9 - big meet 1 eg Falkirk Wheel photoshoot 10 - big meet 2 eg Skye weekend 11 - big meet 3 eg Scottish Meet and ceilidh 12 - all Impreza eras (classic, bug, blob, hawk, hatch) 13 - all special editions? 14 - Santa Cruise? 15 - self build "project" pictures
  18. wow its going to be a belter !
  19. do we need to pay a deposit? dont want them thinking this is a windup
  20. happy birthday fraser
  21. groan
  22. shelley i agree it is frustrating when you see damage on the scoob caused by others and makes your blood boil to see how people dont give a damn about other folks property. i've got tons of scrapes, dings and stone chips galore on mine that i've been meaning to get sorted but never seem to get round to it because something else crops up that needs money to be repaired/replaced. but as the others have said, you'll probably regret it if you sell the scoob because of this, which is essentially superficial damage and can be fixed do you still get the grin factor when you are behind the wheel and seem to take the long way to buy a paper? do you still wince when you fill her up but then grin when you when you see the petrol guage drop cos you're having fun driving it? if so it is not time to sell stick with it
