I am off to the big blue briny for a couple of weeks so I won't be able to make any more moves on this until then. However...there is no reason why Fife scoob owners can't organise our own meet. I have had a chat with coulster and ther are a few ideas bouncing about. For my part I would suggest an inside meet rather than a car park meet. Let's get a place where we can talk and listen while we get to know each other. Obviously once we get an idea of how many we are we can then see what else we can get up to.

I got home and realised that I forgot to pay for my meal! so Steve I owe you munchies! Good meet as lots of stuff out in the open and to meet some faces new to me.

Neebs. How about we get ourselves organised and have a Fife meet. Just an informal gathering to have a look at each other I know there are a fair few scoobs in the kingdom and a wee meet would be just the thing to get to know each other. I was thinking that a weekday central Fife location would be the thing. so stick your name down and any ideas if you are interested. zeolite

Actually it is not the wagons it is the drivers of wagons. They genetically inclined to be faster. Take your kid seat and try one out. i am sure you will prefer it to a legacy although the legacy is a fine car especially the top range models.

Marvellous May Highland Gathering........DETAILS!!

<< I sometimes feel like a prostitute - does that count >> I am sure you can find one in Blytheswood Square if you really want one. -
Pity some people have pulled out because things are much different face to face and communication is a lot better. I doubt very much that the meeting will have a bad atmosphere and I am sure the forum will be the better for it. I know Spooks has some important things to discuss and the more the merrier. Come on. You know you want to.

Thanks for that guys. My problem with ebay is that I don't know what I am bidding for. Subaru aftermarkets are not known for their sound-deadening qualities are they I need it to be quiet enough to do the occasional road rally and to be honest i don't like a loud exhaust for day to day. If I want loud I start up the Pug!

Looks like the standard one is on it's way out. So I will have to spend my hard earned cash on a new one i hate paying VAT! Anyway suggestions are welcomed for a "quiet" replacement for my 99 UK wagon. Something fitting for my "Stealth scoob" concept.

It is good news although it is a bit of a fight to get through that civil servant doublespeak. Unfortunately it is too late to save a bunch of events that have already been cancelled this year. The 55CC event on the 8th May was cancelled and there will be no more Perthshire events until August at least. People power!

Marvellous May Highland Gathering........DETAILS!!
zeolite replied to ANDYJDMSTI's topic in Scottish Scoobies
It is not looking good for next weekend as the Atlantic is calling me. Well the Clare field anyway. Sorry to miss this one as it would be the first on roads I know. Have a good one folks. -
Well I marshalled and had a pretty good time. 6R4s sound sooooo good. George Macdonald has an amazing ability to get a scoob sideways. Excellent action with cars going side to side, up and down (yump) and occasionally round and round. Where else can you see that? Corsa stewarded rallye6 spectated. Anyone else

MSA Press Release PRESS RELEASE MSA tackles DEFRA threat to UK motor sport The Motor Sports Association has vowed to fight all the way to Brussels to safeguard the future of nearly 50 percent of its sanctioned motor sport events after the government decided to stop subsidies to farmers who allow part of their land to be used, even temporarily, for any form of motor sport. The MSA has joined forces with the governing body of motor cycle racing (ACU) and other affected parties to challenge the Government's decision, channelling its efforts through the Land Access & Recreation Association (LARA) of which the MSA is a founding member and major funder. The Single Payment Scheme (SPS) replaces the Common Agricultural Policy and now pays farmers for the land they own, not what they produce. The European Directive on agricultural subsidies does not prohibit motor sports on land eligible for SPS. However, the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has taken the decision, without consultation, to stop these payments to UK landowners if agricultural land is used, even temporarily, for motor sport. Activities that will be particularly impacted are autograss, autocross, sporting trials, production car trials, 4x4 events and some rallies. "We believe the current guidance from DEFRA to landowners is incorrect, is inconsistent with EU policy and fundamentally threatens the future of motor sport in this country. The MSA is a founding member and substantial funder of LARA and it is entirely appropriate that the concerted response of all interested parties to this threat is channelled through LARA. We hope to have a successful conclusion to our urgent dialogue with DEFRA, but should the need arise we are prepared to pursue this issue further," said Colin Hilton, Chief Executive of the Motor Sports Association. Release MSA05-025: 20 April 2005

DEFRA THREAT TO MOTOR SPORT Local motor clubs throughout the UK face a threat from new government regulations forbidding the use of agricultural land for motor sport. Rising rally co-driver Graham Raeburn said: "Lots of grassroot motoring events throught the UK are threatened by the latest countryside decree. Some are events which have run regularly since pre-war days and are part of motor sport heritage. It's the biggest single threat we have faced as a sport in years." Club officials claim that the new regulations were passed by Whitehall "without any consulation". Farmers who currently permit motorcyle or car events to use otherwise idle land (which has been designated as 'set aside') will in future be allowed to hold events such as local carnivals, horse events and pop concerts, but motor sport will be specifically banned. This will affect thousands of events for motorcyles, whose governing body (the Auto Cycle Union) is said to be "devasted". For those competing on four wheels, the new regulations will mainly affect more than 1,000 autograss events which run outside the remit of the MSA (the UK's main motor sport governing body), but about 40 per cent of club motor sport events authorised by the MSA will also face restrictions, including sporting trials, production car trials, 4x4 events and some rallies. The new rules from DEFRA came into force by decree last month, without any obvious consulation with the hundreds of clubs who organise affected local events. ends. Endurance Rally Association

Brake Upgrade-that will not "brake" the bank
zeolite replied to TypeRA28's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Fitting brakes is not a big deal once you get the old ones off! You will need a big soft hammer.
