  1. Also does spending all that money to get a bit more power really make your car that much quicker? On any scoob run i've been on it seems to be pretty even (to a degree) no matter how much power you have. After all (on the road) the more power you have the more careful you have to be putting it down. As for me, second hand twin dump downpipe for £100 = 292 bhp/246 lbs ft.

  8. If your my98 runs the mechanical speedo it's a simple job of fitting a convertor between the gearbox and speedo cable. This will convert the speedo to mph and derestrict it at the same time. It is recommended to get a remap but not always needed. My sti2 ran perfectly on optimax alone although i do use booster when tracking the car. This was checked out on the rollers and got a clean bill of health.
  9. Is there a chip (scoobyecu or equivalent) in your ecu? If not then you shouldn't be peaking 1.2 bar then holding 1.05 (this is about scoobyecu settings). You should be peaking just over 1 bar and holding 0.9 bar. Some of the newer classics (my99, 00) cars may get an increase in boost with a decat but a my95 shouldn't. What boost gauge do you use as it could be under or over reading slightly. Check plugs, coilpacks etc. Also try holding boost at about 1 bar and see if it still does it. If it is fuel cut you can fit the avcr and control the boost with it.

If it goes to nothing i would remove it. If it's connected to something, repair or replace the wire, burnt out wires aren't good.
  13. It may have been, i don't think it would sell on a fourcourt myself unless it was very cheap. It's a shame to see such a good car in that condition.
  14. Went down to central car auctions in glasgow tonight and what is sitting there waiting to go through? A very nice looking 22B. Anyone else see it? anyone see what it went for? I couldn't be bothered waiting till it went through. Noticed a couple of dealers around it including a guy with mmv imports jacket on. I would have loved to buy it and sort it out. (if only).

  16. Colour coded looks good, i cut the slats out mine, colour coded and meshed em up, looks good and lets air through to vent brakes or induction. No pics at the mo
  17. I also agree with wilky. Talk to bill, if your happy with the ra's ratios then get your box rebuilt, prob cheaper than a 6spd and you know it'll be good and have warranty. If you want better motorway cruising get either 6spd or uk box, you'll need the rear diffs to match with either. For my money.. Greersport is the way to go.

  24. like grant says, check out the ecu, then if unsure before you go throwing lots of cash at it get it checked out ona rolling road. If your central, try dastek, very good guys there. My import STI2 has a decat exhaust and ran perfectly on the rollers with optimax alone.
