get rid of the sound!!!!!!!!!!!! wash your mouth out !!!1 lol buy a bigger stereo system. thats what i did. kenwood head unit with all rounf jbl speakers and a sub and amp in the boot for good measure

does not look to bad in the daylight as have a crabon wraped bonnet but will post pics on the weekend for judgement then lol

just fitted some eye brows ...... think it looks ok. that will be the last external mod. the rest will be under the bonnet and the teins

when you say 5 cylinder does that included a landy? tho the overfinch rangy has a fair note tho . but i know what you mean . i had a 5 cylider audi and they do sound good, but still not as distictive as a subaru. i personnaly think ferraris sound awful but but thats just me. i love the sound of some of the tvrs they have a fair sound too

hahahahaha i do just the same. down tools and where is it lol. mine is sounding so much better and louder but deeper now i have been running it a wee while .. love the sound of a american muscle v8 or the tvr has a nice sound too . but the subaru you can tell from a good distance lol

would tires really make that much of a difference tho. i would have thought as long as there correctly inflated then it should be ok. and i see your point on the road noise if you drive it everyday. i have a classic ra so i have no sound proofing at all. but when i was running mine everyday, around a 90 mile comute , i got use to the noise lol

since changing my manifold i got to thinking. whats the most unique sounding car the day. one that you can tell what it is from miles away? gotta be the sound of the flat four burble. which truthfully is one of the reasons i wanted a subaru .my mother can hear me from near 3 miles when im heading over to hers and so can the wife sometimes as got caught out doing some rally style driving one eveing comeing home. mrs/ you were speeding? me/ err... no i wasnt............. mrs/ i heard you turn onto the foggy road and heard every gear change and you were definitly not doing 60 coming along the top road! me/ ppfffftt curse the straight cut 3in de cat system and the roar of the flat four. but its gotta be done.

put it this way, road noise? we drive a subaru so road noise you shouldnt hear over the flat four (unless the tire is fkd and flat ) and economy? we would not have bought a subaru if economy came into it . lol.

i was sick of the same so bit the bullet and bought a set of goodyear eagle f1s for my ra on recomendation of a friend. brilliant all round tire. tho a bit pricey. got mine for 480. but a big from me for them

its early days but she is driving it most days now. so hopefully get her confidence up in it then get some rally style driving................. on second thoughts that is best left to me where i would feel a lot safer for the car lol

heres a wee vid of my mrs driving my ra aka ' the plow ' .i had to have some eye treatment so she ended up driving. quality not great as i could not see that well by this point and also didnt want her to know i was filming . she said just before this ' its funny how the scooby changes your driving attitude..... turns you into a right hooligan. i would say its more than likely to be the rear lights. the water runs down the boot channel onto the top of the rear light cluster and then seeps in thru the seal round the top. hope you get it sorted tho

update........... after a whole afternoon on sat trying to get a sheared stud out of the up pipe i finally ran out of light so roll on sunday morning. when up bright and early to finish of re assembly . all went well and had her ticking over by dinnertime. loving the deep burble back now and apart from 20psi and overboost it goes well . short blast then reset the turbo actuator rod as i had moved it when i thought ut was worn and that was my late boost problem before i found the buggered intercooler pipe. just got mto get the tein coilovers serviced before i fit them as have a slight damp rear one.. fit the hoses once i get the new pads and fit the discs. once i have fully cleaned off all the oily paw prints of the samco and cleaned the engine bay i will post a vid of the sound before , as i recorded it before i changed the manifold and the sound now.. one very happy bunny.
