  1. last time i was at wallace i was told mine was running a bit lean above 5k rpm and over fueling lower down. told a fpr would help that. so i got one and fitted it and i have what feels l;ike fuel starve up the rev range when coming into boost. is the fpr fkd or do they need setting or do i need to fit with the walbro and the remap?
  2. does that mean your going both days bry as you posted twice
  3. aye loon im up for that now
  4. after a few months off the road thats the ra tested and back.first bit of welding tho. a wee patch on the sill, made harder to sort coz of the side skirt. number plate light and fog light switch does not light up when switched on. overall very happy considering the age of it tho BIG to john and steven at MCLARENS GARAGE in foggy. top job

  6. nothing better lol. good forr the heart and backside
  7. glased drums. causeing brake shoes nae to hold tight by the sound of it. try some rough sand paper and roughen up the new shoes and rub up the inside of the drum.
  8. think it was a sticky wastegate but then had coughing and farting on normal boost. turns out to be the fpr i fitted. so dissconected now and alls good. also baz been looking into the arm settings and the proper preload is apparently about 3 full turns back from the rod being dead over the wastegate arm. that provides the correct preload. and then to up boost a wee bit shorten the arm byt a half turn a time.will post full result once i have it done tho
  9. im with bryan and paul on this . dont want to drive a playstation. i do like gadgets but to a point. this is why i love my classic type ra , theres nothing on it that does not need to be there. the only power assistance it has is the steering. no e/w , e/m , e/c/l. no abs no traction conrol ( only my right foot) just the pure raw driving expeiance of a group n rally car
  10. so by the sounds of that then dave, volvo estate it is for you then.

  16. nice one neil happy birthday to your scooby.
  17. cheers will try that the morn
  18. thats what i thought barry. but as soon as i took off the rod it pinged back and the only way i could get it back on was to lever the rod back out. i thought wastegate when shut then the rod should just be about a mm off the rod. but this is about 8 mm. real tight.
  19. got a wee overboost problem now on the ra after it off the road for about 6 weeks. some one mentioned the wastegate was maybe sticking but when i took the rod off the arm the rod sucked back into the diaphram by about 8mm so to put it back on i have to pry the rod back out to slip onto the arm. is this right or what should it be set at. i was thinking that it seemed a lot off load holding the gate shut.
  20. i have a td05 in mine already but i think the vfs are front entry only so can fit it to mine as mine ir a top entry. definitly need a apexi tho then that will finish what im wanting from it tho thinking of selling my 440 and getting some 550 injectors instead
  21. it was a great day and we had a chance of three laps of the track but needed a crash helmet plus as mine was just back on the road ive devloped a overboost problem now
  22. it will be. scott with the mk 1 escort is a impreza fan and mechanic and told me to check the wastegate as it might be sticking as been off the road for a wee while so hopefully will cure the overboost. heres a wee vid of the the scooby My link also we were given a wee gift for attending and bringing some extra support for the msa. and whats inside...... spoke to the lass about arranging a sidc time trail there. like the sprint day but for sidc. she likes the idea so said someone would be in touch.
