  1. Hi Colin, It's a Canon 300d. Had it for about 4 years, and it's well out of date now. Been looking at replacing it with a 40d, and Nick having this one. Russell was up with us today too. Cheers David
  2. Hi Mate, I'll bring one with me. Just don't tell Geoff. His is waiting for him in Cornwall, after a nightmare with the couriers down there. David
  3. Some more photo's from today. Sorry, probably not up to the usual SICC standard. David
  4. If anyones going to know this, it's this man. How you doing Colin? David
  5. Yes, excellent posting. I'll be looking out for it on Sunday at Doune. David
  6. According to the DVLA web-site, date of UK registration was 01/02/2003 Taxed until end of the month. Although it looks a bit untidy, and maybe a slight mismatch of colour (really difficult to be sure of that from a photo). It is original, and looks to have all the correct bits. But it does seem to be a bit cheap too. Davy
  7. I remember that test a couple of years ago, and normal everyday Golfs and Astra's won't show any improvement. But on a performance Turbo car there are gains to be had. But I use V-power on both my Impreza's for peace of mind that it's 99.4 ron. Audi state in their car technical brochures that their performance models will run better on 98ron and will produce ???bhp. It can also run on 95ron but will produce ???bhp (less bhp) and can also be run on 91ron with even less bhp. And the losses can be up to 20bhp David
  8. S446 was that Nicky's original 22B? He sold his, then bought a different 22B. What reg No. did Dave Lapworth's have? A guess at either 445 or 448 They weren't really prototypes. They were JDM import cars, with a few bits fitted from the UK official models (diff's / gearing) Dave
  9. Colin's 22B never came from Nobles originally. It came from Prodrive. Nicky Grist and Dave Lapworth also were given one each at the end of 1998. And they all had build number 000, on the interior plaque. David
  10. Looking good Gus. I thought white wheels would just be a bit too much white, so here's the same STi alloys in anthracite. Stevie made up the DRMOTORSPORT door graphics. I wanted a taper idea running into the slots on the front bumper (the angles photo makes them look a bit squint, but the are straight) David
  11. Kloon, A bug-eye WRX has higher emissions (232 or 242) than a blob-eye WRX (219) David
  12. Yeah, I'm going to do the same. We can always improve. I'm also going to get an instructor to drive my track car. I think it handles and brakes perfectly, but they may suggest trying something different with it's set-up. Something like ......soften the rear damping or adjust the tyre pressures, etc. I don't know....................but they will David
  13. Feel sorry for you mate. I've got a 52 plate JDM STi (GL model not the spec C), but I imported it new in 2002 and it came in under the older SVA test, so my log book does not have a CO figure. Hence my road tax is £185.00 So we both have similar emissions, but mine was registered in the UK earlier I get cheaper road tax. I'm certainly not complaining at what I pay, but it doesn't make sense. David I can't believe I've had the same car for 6 years now. Just haven't found anything that's vastly better. Although I would take my mates Hawk-eye Spec -C ra
  14. The 5th injector should be there (I'm sure someone will have a photo to post up soon) But no road cars ever had the 5th injector active. It was fitted for homologation purposes and only was used on the Group A WRC cars from Prodrive.
  15. I do both the SIDC track days from John Stewart, and Track Scotland events. Both are very well organised. I wouldn't attempt a Speed Sunday event, it's not nicknamed Banger Racing for nothing. For a first timer, the 25 lap package is a great idea. That option didn't exist when I did my first track day at Knockhill back in 1992, but I was lucky to have some lessons from Ian Forrest. They'll give you tips on the racing lines, braking points, plus things you don't think about like weight transfer, balance. I noticed at the last SIDC event, Tut went out with an instructor, even though like myself Tut has been doing SIDC events for nearly 10 years. Your never too old or experienced to keep learning more. David
  16. Once again excellent photo's John.
  17. Sky+ already set.
  18. Both your WRX and the STi ra aren't exactly what you'd call standard. Add into that AP brakes and coilover suspension, and your well away from comparing standard cars. So it comes down to the mods that have been done, and how well they've been done. The only common aspect that's left to compare is weight; an STi ra will be 40kg lighter than the WRX. And gearing; and at Knockhill what suits best again depends on the power and delivery from the engine. My WRX ra track car is fitted with an STi ra gearbox, but it's not perfect, the WRX ra gearbox is slightly shorter again, and I feel that would be better. I just need the time to change some seals in it and put it back together again. You can read a full write up about this car here, http://www.drmotorsport.co.uk/Our%20Cars%2...%20WRX%20ra.htm And the best bit, it's all cost a lot less than £5k. David
  19. These are available from Inovite with a red trim, but not in my 2008 catalogue with a yellow one. So it's either been added by someone, or Inovite have brought it out recently and not updated me. Got some really good deals with these just now, if anyones interested. David
  20. Some more photo's here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/drmotorsport/ The majority were taken by my teenage son, Nick, as I was on track at the time. I think he did a pretty good job.
  21. Taken from todays West Lothian Courier (28th August) Page 35 "Pathfoot Limited" "Notice is hereby given that on the 12th August 2008 a petition was presented to the Sheriff at Linlithgow Sheriff Court by Pathfoot Limited, Suite 3, Ochil House, Owen Square, Livingston, West Lothian craving the court inter alia that the said Pathfoot Limited be wound up by the court and that an Interim Liquidator be appointed." There is more to this with legal detail, but sadly this is the main part of the notice in todays newspaper. Pathfoot Limited are the publishers for Total Impreza, Total Evo and Total Nissan magazines. I don't know were they go from here or what will happen to the magazine, but it looks like bad news.
  22. I really like these Audi diesel estates just now. My mate has an A6 3.0 quattro avant and has had it remapped with an MTM chip. It pushes out 295bhp / 380 lb ft, and has all that torque from about 1600 rpm. It does understeer with such a heavy engine but he's looking at anti roll bars and KW suspension for it, so we'll see how it goes then. The quality and finish is probably the best out there, ahead of BM's and Merc's and miles ahead of a Subaru. I'm sitting here with a JDM STi road car, and a classic ra track car; and I can't remember the last time I had a really good blast in the road car on a clear empty road. Now you've got me thinking.
  23. There's instructions on HKS Europes web-site. http://www.racecarnewmedia.co.uk/hks/installation.htm Davie
  24. The rear roof spoiler, if it's like those fitted to the hawk-eye STi's won't fit The new age cars are wider by about 2"' The boot spoiler won't fit either. The classic has a flatter boot lid with a slight curve, but the new ages curve up at the ends so would leave a big gap along the centre. Bad news, sorry.
  25. Andy, Just to let you know Jimmy McRae has now seen this tribute through the Gathering web-site, and he was very moved by it. David
