  1. I have an 02 wagon with ppp. Want a wee bit more burble. Is the best option a different back box (like to Hayward and Scott) or a straight through centre section?
  2. Hello, Looking for some help on behalf of my dad. He has a '96 import wrx wagon, which has unfortunately just lost 3rd gear. He is looking to replace the box, but was wondering about longer gearing to improve fuel economy. Anyone got advice about whether you can out newage/uk boxes in to an import, and any good places to source decent second hand ones? Thank you Ryan
  3. Totally agree - the detector has only been useful for me by picking up radar scatter produced by the radar bouncing off the car in front being targeted. As I said - jammers are illegal, but a device for opening a garage, as long as you have a garage - a ok!
  4. Very effective but illegal I think. You can apparently get automatic garage door openers which do the same job. As long as you have 1 part on the car and a matching part on a garage door (preferably yours) is ok law wise. I just don't have a garage.
  5. I think the reason they are so active in town is because they do not discriminate between different types of radar. Traffic lights etc use radar for intelligent control, shop door sensors etc. The different modes (logic) are supposed to help. I think logic1 is best for UK.
  6. Yup it does go off quite a lot and in town is often best turned off as it picks up traffic lights, garages etc. Think I may get rid of the R A and stick with what I know, TomTom togther with pocketgpsworld database seems as good for the fixed sites as the R A database too.
  7. Have used a Snooper S5-r for several years and found it very useful at giving warning of police with radar guns. I recently got a 'New Road Angel' and was suprised to find that it doesn't seem to pick them up (the snooper was on at the same time and did). Visibility etc was not an issue. Has anyone had similar experiences? Note on the website it states the unit picks up laser but doesn't mention radar - are there different types of speed guns?
  8. Excellent pics and description, but from the post above - does this mean that it is illegal to have the separate driving lamps on at the same time as main beam then?
  9. Great advice - thank you! Do you have any suggestions for which lamp/bulb power combo to go for?
  10. As per my previous post, I have a bugeye with morette headlight conversion and the light is VERY poor. Thinking about driving lamps where the fogs are, but what is the legal position?
  11. Exactly! The first time I drove on a properly dark (and fast) road I dipped for oncoming car and thought had accidently turned them off! You done anything to improve the situation? Apart from the odd clean that is!
  12. Hi, Recently got a bugeye wagon with the morette highlight conversion. Have noticed that the standard bulbs are fairly poor (compared to zenons on previous car). I'd appreciate any advice on bulb upgrades - type and where sourced. Thank you! Ryan
  13. Thinking of getting a removable wheel for security. Note a few people have done this - what are your opinions compared to wheel lock etc? Also, any recommendations for what to get?
  14. Saw a dark blue 5 series 08 plate parked today. Only tell tale was very subtle lights behind grill, and no dealership marks on plates.
