interesting they mention the cvt gearbox as the new legacy that has just been released has this gearbox for the auto version

the six speed can wear the housing where a circlip sits which stops a bearing from moving and the first sign it's wearing is movement in the gearlever which allows it to jump out of gear. try the oil first as it's the cheapest option but be prepared for a big bill if it doesn't fix it

if your in gear and back off on the throttle and then accelerate again does the gearlever move back and forth?

what we are forgetting is if the car they crash in to is moving forwards then the impact speed of the crash is less than the car crashing in to a stationary object at 100mph so even though both cars are doing 100 mph the impact could only be 80mph

with the airbag system you have to insert a wire in to a plug and count the flash codes it can't be read on the select monitor. you can do it yourself but if you get the wire in the wrong hole...........!!! also one code can relate to several things i.e code 45 could be drivers side airbag, drivers wiring loom or ecu which is why we have to use the test harnesses to eliminate various parts so we isolate it to just one part. it can take a while i'll admit and i'm sure they could make it a lot easier to diagnose, what model year is it?

it was a common problem on the 99my impreza onwards with the 2 port type, the little shuttle thing inside got stuck and with the build up of pressure from the turbo having no where to go it built up and opened the waste gate. all happened in a split second and subaru issued the oil level bullitin. it wasn't overboost as such as the pressures were all within spec but the resulting fault the "head butting" of the steering wheel was exactly the same, a lot of people tried the brake cleaner which worked for a bit but the only proper solution was to replace the solenoid valve

got the prodrive brakes on it as well nice upgrade

get it booked in then and we will have a good look over it for you,

had to finally register now as we have been shown this thread which we are watching closely whisper uk, the part we could not find was not in stock at i.m with no eta for new stock hence the kit to get you mobile again, as for the oil and the mess of the front of the engine i will speak to simon and fiona about it as they haven't mentioned anything to me and we will get this sorted out.
