  2. the f1 is a really good tyre in the dry and nearly as good in the wet but it's not a winter tyre you need proper winter tyres to get as much grip as poss in this weather

  4. is it not possible to put the evaporator in the air box so the air drawn over it and in to the engine is cold?
  5. i used to find fill through the top hose first then sort of put it back on the rad but leave a gap at the top and keep filling so it fills the rad and engine at the same time until it over flows then put the hose on properly and fill through the expansion tank last of all

  7. err no it's not! both sensors are located on the suspension on the drivers side of the car you can't miss them
  8. it's a 3 wire sensor so you got a 5v feed, an earth, and a signal wire so make sure you have the feed and earth and then move the probe from the 5v feed to the signal wire and then move the arm on the sensor, you should get a varying voltage as you move the arm up and down. if you don't then that sensor is u/s and will need replacing but do this for both sensors so you can be certain what one has gone, also check the pins in the plug and the sensor as they are known for leaking water in and corroding away. a faulty sensor or corroded pins are the only issues i ever came across when diagnosing the levelling issue but if both sensors move and vary the voltage then your looking at a wiring issues between the sensor and the ecu for the levelling or a faulty ecu but i never came across that it was always a sensor.

  12. when you accelerate in an sti with the dccd it does lock the centre diff so all 4 turn at the same rate, if one set is new and the other is worn or even partially worn it can give you this feeling of a judder or a miss and a momentarily loss of power which i presume is the wheels hopping or skipping.it can give you this funny sort of squeek through the transmission as well when it does it

  20. it's because they dump the excess pressure out of the intake system but the problem is that air has ben measured by the air flow meter and the ecu is expecting it to go in to the engine so sorts out the fueling ready for it only it never appears so you run the risk of having incorrect fueling for a bit until the exhaust sensors tell the ecu that it's to rich and it sorts the fueling out. at least with a recirc it will make it in to the engine and a lot of drivers have noticed they drive better with a recirc on so subaru must know something to make it a recirc in the first place

  23. sorry i haven't been posting much on this thread i've been busy building a twin scroll legacy engine for a customer so had a few late nights!! haven't seen the audi for a long time or the idiot who was driving it thank god! must admit matty you look good for 47!! hope i look as good as you at that age! :lol:
  24. doh! missed this thread but spent a quiet night in as had a few peeps over on the saturday before, 35 now and feeling old!!
