  1. Oh and if you hadn't figured it out: Lower the car to the ground. Remove wheel chocks. Fire her up and bask in the glory and achievement of your efforts!
  2. Piece of cake: Chock wheels Jack up car Undo old bolts and discard if not reusable Remove backbox from hangers (3 usually) this'll be easier if you spray a little lube into the rubber hangers on the exhaust side. If they come off with the box just refit them to original locations. Cleanup centre section flange face with a wire brush. Hang up new back box on hangers. Insert a new gasket and fire a bolt through new box flange, gasket and centre section flange to hold it at one end. Insert other bolt and tighten them both up evenly (don't go too tight on one before starting the other)
  3. When you guys are up for the Granite City Rally - where will you be? Up at thistle altens? I'll pop round to say hello if I'm in town!
  4. I spent more on data roaming reading this than it cost me to sign up! I can't wait to get back home to take the car out or a drive! Once it's taxed, MoT'd and re-registered!
  5. What was the drive behind ditching the 50 posts then allowing to sell regardless of being a member? I personally think it was a good system. I dont see too many post on here of people complaining of being ripped off by "non-members".
  6. charming as ever dunk! Welcome back again Ari. So now I know it was you that got all offended about Kincorth years ago!
  7. Your wheels wont fit blairs hubs anyway Brian...
  8. If I had a custard cream spare it wouldnt fit any of my brakes anyway! I may potentially have space for one.
  9. So whats the reason you cant carry your own?
  10. Cheapskate MoFo! Carry your own! Why cant you carry your own? Have you cut the sparewheel well to save weight?
  11. Good start to a project! Is that the white rex RA that was on the highland fling last year?
  12. LMFAO!!! Thats hilarious! This website is pretty handy, there are near 70 photos of white hawks there are bound to be a few with white wheels.
  13. Yet to see one of your cars with dirt on... very shiny!
  14. Fair cop - you were right, I was wrong. Its your opinion and fair enough. I would still prefer the Spec C...
  15. The 330R wasnt an option, you werent comparing eggs with eggs... Ok, so in your experience. Why is the 330S better then the Spec C? Not having a pop here Del, just interested.
  16. Once again chiming in with a hatch when its not an option, anyone would think you designed it! I fail to see where a 330R pisses on a hawk spec C, feel free to nlighten the masses The 330R is nice but its not Spec C and its £3000 more...
  17. Nice work on the pole whoever that was?
  18. Spec C all day long! Atleast you wont be worried about the chocco pistons...
  19. I would seriously doubt you being able to buy a "reasonable" classic and being able to insure, tax and fuel it for the price of a turbo, injectors, remap...
  20. Should start a poll...
  21. I guess its heavily budget dependant. I did hear of a VERY tidy STI TYPE R go for close to £3000 the other day... If you are going for a proper track car - it aint cheap just ask our friend Ciaran. Option 1 is probably the cheapest, less hassle problem. Going for 400hp aint difficult on the newages, probably just swap the tubby. Also, for every bit you take off the newage, there is a market for it on resale... and so saving you more money. Suddenly scared of inadequacy on the fling are we?
  22. Where about in Ross Shire you from then??
  23. Welcome along dude!
  24. Yes and no, wont make a massive difference for all the miles its done inbetween. My Specialist Subaru advisor said it would be fine so long as I run V-Power. I was gonna ask about the cam and how did you fit it? Is it mounted near the plate?
