  1. D*mmit Del! Why did ye have to go and tell? It was mean to be a surprise... *chuckle* It's a BIG thermometer! Speaking of which... Derek? D'you know... you lot are going to be SO disappointed in me! I'll never live up to all this *lol*
  2. Note that whoever puts the prices up gets a political slating... but when someone else comes along they conveniently "forget" to bring it down again... Don't get me started on politicians... HOWEVER... might I point out that the reason we buy these cars is to drive them. At the end of the day, a car will still cost you to get you from A to B. Surely what we pay EXTRA in fuel for a scoob is for the entertainment we derive in doing so? And that's cheaper than drugs! *chuckle* 60 miles a day, full-attack where able.... and IMHO I wouldn't swap the scoob for anything else in order to do so!
  3. It'll clash with the shirt, Dave.
  4. Crikey! Bet that'll put another dent in the credit card! Mind you, with what you've coined out on the rest I suppose a dry sumps a better investment than a rebuild if it dried out and went BANG! Cosworth?
  5. For G*d sake get a grille over those coolers mate before they get shot to bits with stone chips! I know you won't get many on a track/ strip, but I assume you'll need to drive there/ back. Lookin' good!
  6. Ouch! I'd also point out (from earlier in the thread) there ain't gonna be much change in performance... ... 'tis difficult to improve on perfection after all... *chuckle*
  7. Hatch has 4 doors too... just has an extra one mate! *chortle*
  8. Speaking of which, here you go lads!
  9. Aye, there's a fair few corners that catch the dirt!
  10. Darn... Busted! *chuckle* That said, the other option might be the "lightweight" spec C screen. "Erm, Darling..." No - thanks for the response guys. As ever, it's nice to know there's other folk in the same boat!
  11. Welcome along mate.
  12. That's the SECOND windscreen I'm gonna have to replace! First one went after 5 months and second one's just gone. Both secondary to old stone chips - albeit sufficiently small not to be that visible other than in retrospect. Grr! Just wondering if anyone else is breaking screens of if it's just me... I accept that getting chips fixed can prevent a crack but that's provided you can spot them. It wouldn't stop a stone, but would a STRUT brace reduce front chassis flex enough to give a bit more protection? Thoughts appreciated.
  13. Flippin' 'eck!!!!!
  14. Nice one Al... they do make a helluva diff to the handling! A bit "old skool" big-rims-and-dropped-springs... but if it's good enough for the GB270s it's good enough for me! Silver on red is very tidy... at least you resisted gold! *lol*
  15. *lol* it's gonna back to your 16s and spacers at this rate mate!
  16. Sorry for the thread jack... you weren't passing through Scotlandwell about 1745 were you?
  17. Not sure I'd class a Tucson as "High performance" though... It'd hurt if you got rammed by one right enough! Clearly crims with no class though! *lol* Here's hoping their karma catches up with them.
  18. Am gonna get waded in here too... Can't comment on the superiority in trems of ability/ quality saloon vs hatch as have only driven the latter, but the hatch sets a pretty damn high bar IMHO. Oh, and those headlights look preety unchanged to me. Grille is more rectangular and bumper a bit chunkier, otherwise not dissimilar to current STI. Am intrigued to see what they have planned for the STI facelift - supposedly being unveiled at the NY Autoshow 2nd-11th April 2010. Not long.
  19. Rochford Tyres reckon on 215/35/18s et 35-50 being about as big as you can go... sound about right?
  20. Aye, but it's a good drive! Nae worries - another time perhaps. I think everyone's feeling pinch... hence why I'm not stressing about the run numbers being a bit thin on the ground. But I digress...
  21. Piggyback ECU by the look of it... not sure if that's a plus or not...
  22. Hi mate - again, welcome. Car looks great... hope you enjoy scooby ownership. It ain't cheap, but as long as you accept that, you're home and dry! The burble rocks the soul... once you've had it, you'll always be disappointed when you go elsewhere... just ask RS Grant! *lol* (Although the 'Teggy is rather tidy too!) All the Tayside owners I've met are a friendly lot and new faces are always welcome at meets - keep an eye on the "Events" board... ... Oh, speaking of which, you're not free on sunday are you? *chuckle* Am a bit thin on the ground for a run out - LINK HERE (PLUG-PLUG!!!) BTW, just a thought - dunno if you wanna consider hiding the no. plates in the pics for security's sake?
  23. They wouldn't fit in my cup holders *lol*
  24. Possible... apparently, the average volume of a HUMAN head is about 4 to 5 litres... EJ25 only holds 2457cc but if you allow for a decent turbo working efficiently at 14.7psi (ie Pressure ratio of 2) that 2457cc effectively doubles approx to 5 litres at full puff.I suppose we run into probs there though... firstly, solids and liquids are relatively incompressible, so we'd probably need a big 5 litre V6 or V8 N/A anyway... ...and SECONDLY, the above assumes it's a HUMAN head. Now as for Baz... *chuckle* Unlike ME! *lol* On which note... Tootles!
  25. Cheers mate. Safe trip.
