  1. I'm sure you're DREADING that, like! That looks nails mate... inspiring!
  2. Ah well, since that last comment seemed to kill the thread and demote it to page 2... S*d the grass skirts... I'll be wearing me kilt!
  3. Fine, provided you could keep it together through London traffic.
  4. You're "£600" out of pocket having NOT bought it... but how much more would you have had to pay to put it all right, coupled with the fact you'd probably never have been 100% happy about it. At worst, it's been a jolly down South with a mate... it could have been a h*lluva lot worse! I'm not even going to comment on the seller. Not worth the SIDC webspace...
  5. *chortle* I'm liking the motivational tag-line! No worries, mate! To clarify, the lay-dee in question lives alone in a small house, owned outright and has little else to spend her profits on, bless her. She's also just recovered from a serious illness which i think prompted the "s*d it - I'm gonna trade-in the 2 yr old Megane Renaultsport 255ish for a split new £50K Lotus". Rather puts things in perspective and I can't say I blame her.... am now just trying to cadge a pax trip!
  6. Ah-hah! Never actually mentioned a prize, now, did I? However, if a pint (or some-such) might be in order at the next meet you're at (plug, plug!) I'll square it up with you then! That do?
  7. RTA... drowning... alcoholism... headaches... I think you need a vet, not a doctor! I don't do euthanasia! *lol* Glad you're feeling better at least in some respects. I'd still see a doctor, though, and get your injuries documented... Then you can sue the tree! *chuckle* ...sad thing is, I daresay someone's tried that somewhere. America probably...
  8. *Much chortling!* Yes indeedy... 50K of Lotus and it DOES belong to a hairdresser... I suppose I should really say SHE's a salon owner, but it is only a very small salon! Liking some of the more... imaginative... guesses though!
  9. Yes it is... it even says so in the pic *lol* It belongs to one of my neighbours... who is NOT said salesman, no. Try again.
  10. No! It's not a TVR after all! *chortle*
  11. Am afraid don't have a pic of the actual vehicle ( 'cos it's dark outside AND the forum ain't letting me upload for some reason - anyone else struggling?) but it's one of THESE. Guess the owner's occupation - answers on a postcard! (And no it's NOT me! I (think I) wish...!)
  12. You got mail, mate!
  13. Strictly speaking, you were approaching the tree! Bl**dy H*ll Ciaran... you gotta go an do things properly, don't you? Glad you're OK... you could't have hit it that hard or there'd have been a H*LLUVA lot bigger a dent than the one you got there... trees being noted for NOT doing much moving, especially one that thick! Strewth! As stated, go get the neck checked... more than likely just soft tissue injury but not worth NOT taking the time to check! Have had a guy come see a friend of mine who works in A&E in Kirkcaldy. Said he felt like his head was about to fall off... it was - his neck was broken! Not trying to scare you or anything *chuckle*
  14. Relative to white... yes. In general... I beg to differ! *lol*
  15. Cathy, wasn't it?
  16. The man's obsessed... *chortle*
  17. Fancy dress perhaps? Not sure if that includes the shirt, Dave...
  18. Need to know the following to advise you mate... Model Year Alloy size and offset Tyre size, eg: 225/45/R17 You might be fine to go ahead with 5mm, but as well as catching the tyre top on the arches (particularly depending on your suspension setup) you also need to consider that shoving the front wheels out 5mm may bring 'em too close to the front and back of the front arches when you turn. PM me if you like, but will need the above info at any rate.
  19. AEM seem a pretty good bet... albeit I speak from a Hatch perspective, although the make newage kits too. You're right, though, re: the re-map. To get the most out of your intake, you'll need to adjust fuelling or you risk running a bit lean. This has 2 possible effects: 1 - You start to run lean and the ECU will compensate resulting in a power loss... kinda defeats the point of the intake 2 - You run TOO lean and get a load of knock and run the risk of knackering your pistons... and your engine. Some CAIs seem to run higher risks than others, depending how free flowing they are... they're NOT unsafe, you just need a re-map to make the most of them. It'd probably be OK on a NA car, but chuck forced induction into the mix and it's a WHOLE different ball game.
  20. On a stock ECU? Cool! How do you do the switch-over?
  21. Strewth! You're keen... it's "only" February! Yes there will be, mate. Keep an eye on the Events section hereafter.
  22. Shiny... seems a shame to put it all together really... It's rather nice just to ogle! *chortle* What are you doing for a sump? RCM?
  23. Hmmm. General consensus, then, seems to be YES possible... BUT a lot of hassle which may well end up more expensive than an existing aftermarket kit and run into balancing probs which the aftermarket will have sorted (hopefully!) in an off-the-shelf package. Thanks for the feedback - that's been interesting.
  24. Hi, just a wee update. Things are now JUST ABOUT in hand and Jon's going to hand the clothing order stuff to me shortly so we can get this up and running again. As above, please, NO new orders YET, but watch this space and we'll be back in action SOON. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Glyn
  25. Strewth! That can't do much for yer front end downforce... what'd you hit? Or was it just "snowplough syndrome"?
