  1. I drag my '03 on occasion mate. Mine does not have the DCCD but works in exactly the same way as yours if you set it to AUTO. I hold steady revs to 5.5k-6k and dump the clutch in one smooth movement. No clutch smell, no banging sound. Instant traction and a PB of 13.6, running 280-90BHP. No idea why your car is making a bang sound mate, where does it come from? Front, back? Doesn't sound good TBH
  2. In no way to look like a know-it-all, or to contradict you mate (sorry). The Version 6 is the last of the 'classic' shape, and the first newage shape was the bug-eye. With the introduction of the newage the UK got its first official STi (Version 7, called Type-UK). The Blob-eye was the hasty rehash front end of the 'ugly' (to some, i love it) Bug-eye, and with the new Blob-eye ('03-'05) came the STi V8 and V9. From there on all as above It really is a minefield
  3. It was the drilled discs that caught the eye TBH i never had a problem with the standard setup on my old WRX's. But i use EBC pads on my STi (standard brembo discs). I'm running the Yellowstuff pads though. They are brilliant when they've warmed up, but rubbish cold
  4. Very nice Looks a very clean scoob, and i don't mean just because you washed her Is that some sort of front brakes upgrade i've spotted?
  5. Done the rear today too Took out the orange bulbs for silvertec ones
  6. Get the P1 mate. Its a UK only car, and will be worth more money in the future. Collectable cars like them are worth having and looking after
  7. Enjoy the new scoob! Hope to see it, and your 'R' at a dunny meet soon (I will get to one lol )
  8. That might be a little much with mileage that high at present prices. Nearer the 7k mark in good condition rather than 8k. My 03 STi with half that mileage is only worth around 8-9k But keep in mind that used prices are slowly creeping back up, so if you can hang on the the 8k might be in reach soon.
  9. A blue Blob-eye STi with reg no' W** WRX. Over took a black zafira then a bright red astra sporthatch, the latter of which i was passenger Then joined the A505 to luton.
  10. He was just being an a***hole mate! Displaying a legal numberplate in the windscreen is perfectly acceptable! I suspect he didn't like your scoob... Which is exactly why i feel lucky that i wasn't driving mine the night i got pulled up
  11. Bang on! 330S and no argument! The Recaros are sooo much better than standard STi seats! Plus all the extra kit in the 330S...
  12. I'd have one just because it is yellow!
  13. I'm using EBC Yellowstuff pads in my Brembo calipers, with Brembo discs. So far no issues at all. The only thing is they take a while to warm through so stopping from cold is... interesting
  14. Try your local dealer first mate, or ring Subaru direct. If they will replace it, it should be at no expense to you If they are funny about doing it, or you want to take the opportunity to simply up-grade, then Powerstation's AST's are supposed to be good
  15. Sound feasible to me mate. I'll give that a try too!
  16. What a stupid problem to have Surely Subaru haven't cocked up the system to unlock the car????? Hope the service dept can sort it out for you mate
  17. Yep, definitely rear struts mate AS above a common fault on the newage scoobs. My nearside was changed under warranty when i purchased the car. I've had it for over 12 months now and guess what... yep the offside has started knocking on mine too My car is getting on for 6 years old but i'll give Subaru a shout to see if they can replace it. Good luck getting yours done too mate.
  18. Toyo R888's are good. Or you could use Yokohama A048's (as fitted to the current Lotus Exige).
  19. I hadn't thought about it that way... I guess you just don't know in this day and age
  20. Sneaky sod was hiding behind a hedge as i made my way to work at 9.30pm, so it was dark. Police car wasn't visible at all until i was parked next to PC Plod and could see behind the hedge ...And the cost... ZERO fine and ZERO points Why? Because i wasn't in the scoob, just our little clio (and actually he was a friendly copper). However I'm convinced that if i'd done exactly the same thing in (i'm not disclosing speeds on an open forum, but it wasn't that much) the scoob then i'd have my first points and my wallet would have lost some weight Simply because of how the scoob is, loud and brash Sometimes though its handy to have an innocent little hatchback
  21. Welcome to both Subaru and SIDC! Those Renaults are really good cars, we have just a 1.2 clio as well as the scoob at home and its loads of fun to drive You won't regret changing to a scooby though enjoy!
  22. Welcome mate! Nice choice of scoob
  23. Thats fair enough fella, its a personal choice. I've had 3 blobs now and with this one wanted to do something different
