I was going to get the guys at Cumbernauld to wrap mine with the carbon fibre effect to match the wing mirrors, think it was £50 for the splitter getting wrapped

I think £20 to become a fully paid up member is buttons in this day & age, every single one of us has wasted more money on things we don't need over & over again, pay your £20, advertise some peice of subaru scrap that's lying around unwanted in your garage, job done, membership covered, & the club get's the support required, Some barsteward remove my item from the for sale section, worst case scenario I have to re-advertise big deal You can't please everyone & I don't agree with every decision that's made but i'm in the club to enjoy myself, life's to short just like me to be negative all the time, I think there is light at the end of the tunnel, after the AGM the position of the club should be a lot clearer & we should be able to see what direction we need to take to move the club forward & keep it afloat.

It's a no brainer the spec c wins it every time, you buy the hatch your hand will alway's be in your pocket trying to achieve what the spec c already is
-
Get the blob finished & stop fannying around, i'll let you have the RA as a base car for your classic project sometime in the future, I won't be keeping it forever lol & roll on the barbie
-
The RA is an original with no mods, if you go back 17 years in it's day it must have been mental compared to other cars, still a great car that always brings a smile every time you drive it, just ask Tommo9375 or some of the other RA owners, my wife steals it every chance she gets, by today's standards the RA stumbles a bit as the gearing was designed for acceleration but doesn't really like the motorways, in my experience Kames is the ideal track for the old girl. The RS is the latest ford WRC techno stuff flung into a road car, Graeme over at Whiteline in Dumfermline are running an RS & played around with the suspension but with minimal changes they reckoned it was a better all round car, In my opinion my GB was awesome with the mods that I carried out & everyone thats had a wee test drive of both think £ for £ the RS is a better value for money car. However I think there will always be a subaru of some form hiding in the garage

I'm still a true subaru fan at heart but my RS gives me the subaru grin every time I jump into it, You don't have to shell out £35,000 either, just buy a standard RS & for £2,000 you can have exactly the same ford warranty approved power upgrade fitted, so £25,500 will get you the same as an RS 500

nice one -
Hi Gregor I'm fine mate the GB's running costs were just getting silly for a car that was only used 5,000 mls a year & I actually enjoy driving the RA more, it's a buyers market just now keep your eye out on the site I think the recession is starting to bite & there's been some really nice cars going for not a lot of money. The RS is different ford have upped their game & a lot of thought has gone into the design & development of this car, not to everyones taste but once you've driven it you get that constant subaru grin on your chops

Nope the RA is staying in Bobby's stable, when I do decide to sell it Dave you'll get first shout, tkink I might have to get some paintwork done again this year starting to get a wee bit rust coming through in the usual places, but hey it is 17 years young
-
Well now the RS is finished started on the RA today, four new wellie boots fitted might stop me sliding around, new STI centre caps as the salt tarnished them, service & MOT booked & some Whiteline poly bushes etc for the undercarraige, started to get some of the salt & tar removed today as well so it's starting to look the part again. Must say after 16 years of subaru ownership I finally took the RS out to play on some of the back roads since it was a nice dry day & the handling is superb, after spending £0000's modding the scoobs brakes & suspension the standard stuff on the RS beats my scoobs hands down
