You dont need a recon gearbox the centre diff is your problem which bolts onto the back of the gearbox so its possible to take it off without removing the box you can pick one up for around 250 but it needs to be matched so a uk wouldnt fit your best bet is probably to have it reconned then you know it fits and is as new.if its a uk car uk diff will fit i was assuming it was jdm.

Time for a decat proboably the smell is usualy caused by your cat breaking down assuming that you still have one otherwise it may be unburnt fuel like the others say.

Had a v5 sti wagon for a year now and i can honestly say its one of my better decisions, never had it on rollers but depending who you believe the v5 has 300 brake standard the looks compared to a uk imo are far better so to get a uk looking and running the same output would far exceed the diference in price what other family estate is going to run a 13.01 quarter with minor mods. The ECU Check Engine Light (CEL) will illuminate in the instrument console if there is a problem with any of the computers inputs. It is possible to find which sensor is faulty by following these steps: · Turn ignition OFF. · Connect read memory connectors. These are the small black connectors under the steering column above the pedals. · Turn ignition key to the ON position (Engine OFF) · Engine Check Light turns on · Code is indicated by Pulsing light - See below · If Code is OK Turn ignition OFF disconnect the black connectors · If CEL returns a number of different pulsing lights then check the ECU code table. · Turn ignition to the OFF position. Disconnect the black connectors. · If there is a fault, then check the appropriate sensor. The ECU codes are displayed as pulses of the CEL. If CEL goes out there is no fault. In Diagnostic Mode – No Fault is indicated by the CEL continuously & evenly flashing on/off (this is also used to indicate the successful completion of an ECU Reset) SEE "OK code" in diagram below. The long pulses (1.3 Seconds) indicate Tens and the short pulses (0.2 Seconds) indicate ones. Pulses are separated by Short Pauses (0.2 Seconds), multiple codes are separated by a Long Pause (1.8 Seconds) SEE "Trouble codes" in diagram & examples below. The simplest way for an inexperienced mechanic to retrieve codes is to write the codes down in a sort of Morse Code (dots and dashes), and start a new line when you get a 1.8 Second pause (for NEW code), and then add the actual numbers up after code retrieval is completed. must be starting to get the hang of this computer lark. Do a search in technical on cel tells you how to identify fault codes by diagnostics joining spades under steering column dead easy and saves you the min 40 squid for multimeter test at suburu.

I cant recomend kev highly enough he has just done my gearbox for a fraction of expected price and done an excellent job,he certainly knows his stuff check out some of his work in the garage he is in the middle of a 2.5 build for someone on here and just gave a mates car a big power hike you wont be disapointed.

your bumper prob is easy fixed slack 10mm nut under wheel cover take front wheels off remove trim clips and archguards tighten or replace nuts. Was it you who was asking about this car on 22b website? if it wasnt you want to do a search on there.

I have heard legally she does not need to contact you,if she is fully comp her car is automaticly repaired leaving the insurance company to reclaim their losses. Your only legal grounds after rearending are to prove dangerous driving on her part very hard to prove even with a witness. And practicly impossible with the timescale personaly i would pay the excess.

from everything i have read you should never use additives as they break down at the excessive heat in a scoob engine.
