  1. Looking at the wheel one sticker says of+50 take it thats offset so maybe a tad too much although the wheels did come off my mates type r and he only had an occasional rub on one back wheel and never on the front i will give auto-image a call on monday and take it to them. im in east kilbride cheers gary.
  2. The car has original sti suspension im assuming its the springs that are lower i have recently put volk racing wheels on with 215x45x17 didnt fancy 40s but clearance is very limited rubbing regularly on rear and occasionally on front i know new springs would be easier option but i like the way its looking now so i will probably just get rears done and live with the front if you can recomend anywhere.
  3. I have recently discovered my car is too low for 215 tyres,Can anybody recomend anywhere in the glasgow area for arch rolling and also is it possible to roll the front arches and keep the arch guards? its a 99 wagon.
  4. An excelent well organised day out even the weather held out untill the finals, Keiths car didnt run in pro drag final great to watch the earlier head to head with the duke car they both looked just like power boats off the line down went the back end and they were off like rockets, Well done andy f there were a few unhappy mlr members at the demolition of simon norris in the bogey. booked up for next year already bring it on.
  5. We are staying at the grey horse inn in elvington so no driving on the day. If you cant get a hotel there is a campsite and fishery in wheldrake the next village to elvington which is a short walk to the local pub/restraunt where i can heartily recomend the high quality food and hospitality.
  6. Do you guys still meet up at the old inns cumbernauld if so at what time? if anyone could sell me 4 or 5 litres of methanol i would be very greatfull as i have changed my manifold since mapping and the standard ported ones aint wrapped cheers.

  8. If only we could get some advanced warning missed out at bellshill friday as well after asking last week at same placeto be told dont know anything about it 84p a litre too bummer.
  9. Being biased for that kind of price you could get a version 5 wagon if you look hard enough 99 onwards can be mapped unlike earlier models but are like hens teeth dont rush into it and be prepared to travel,Mckays cars always seem top notch but pricey good hunting.
  10. Im liking the colour of the blue one, the white one looks good also i might know a couple of youngsters who may be interested.I hope you gave your new car a thorough service because the west yorkshire importers where you got it dont do anything but rinse them with a hose before selling.
  11. You wont need to change anything if you swap engines they are all a straight swap 2.0 or 2.5 are all interchangeable if you are trying to do it the cheapest route talk to an engine builder it is possible to rebore and swap cranks depending what you need.
  12. your looking at around 2800-3000 for a 2.5 from greers or a couple of other places in the central belt.most think thats the most economical route but you could build a strong 2.0 for not much diference theres plenty of choices good luck.
  13. Pedal should feel firmer due to ballooning of rubber hoses being eliminated probably needing bled if the travel gets less after pumping the pedal its air in the system and it needs bleeding.
  14. What would the experts recomend other than t cut to smooth out an uneven surface on paint work, car went into garage down south and came back covered in what i thought was only dust when i i cleaned it surface was rough making me think it may have been overspray from a paint shop its not visible to the eye but its like a magnet for dust even after loads of polishing in the year since it happened thanks gary.
  15. HI and welcome you dont say what year your car is but it sounds about standard for 99-2000 your matrix shouldnt be too difficult to source from a breakers or maybe someone breaking one in the forsale section on here if you look back through previous posts, Havent done the matrix myself but heard its a tricky job do a http://bbs.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-general...g+heater+matrix search in technical or on scooby net good luck.
  16. DC flyer dont know if this has been posted on video yet the pictures were good but the video is unbelieveable. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/431738/rally_car_jump/
  17. Has anyone fitted an avcr and set it up i know its slightly more technical than other stand alone controlers and was wondering if its easy enough to plug and play or should i leave it to a pro. any advice apreciated
  18. Its a 22b it was in drivers at charing cross for a while and was also on ebay nice talking point for a large living room.
  19. I have a fool proof way of bleeding the system, it works everytime and i have never needed to top up afterwards. We are talking 30+times.. Fill the system until the water level no longer goes down in the header tank. Take off the hose that goes from the actual rad to the header tank (not the expansion pipe), take this off at the header tank end. Now... Whilst the small pipe is VTA squeeze the top rad hose (Fat Pipe), before letting go of the top rad hose put your finger over the small pipe and then release the top rad hose. This process syphon's (sp) water into the rad and air out. Keep doing this until the water level gets near to the bottom of the header tank, then refill the header tank to the top. So... (leave cap off at all time) Fill up header tank until level no longer goes down. Remove pipe from rad to HT at HT end. Squeeze and hold top rad hose. Put finger over pipe from rad and hold it there. Release top rad hose. Squeeze and hold top rad hose. Put finger over pipe from rad and hold it there. Release top rad hose. repeat until water level in HT reaches the bottom of it and top up. repeat this process until coolant comes out of the small pipe when you squeeze top rad hose. When this happens re-fit small pipe onto HT. TBH this is all that i ever do, but just to make sure that every bit of air is out, take off the pipe that goes from the turbo to the HT and do the same as before with this pipe. However, you will find that coolant comes out first squeeze. This works with a completely dry coolant system to a 2/3 full + airlock.. copied from elsewhere but its the way forward.
  20. Probably means you are giving the charge more cooling than is strictly nececary for the amount of air the turbo is flowing with the frontmount you have a longer pipe run which introduces more lag, get a bigger turbo to make it work to its capacity but like the man says start saving for a box rebuild.
  21. downpipe cat should be enough for mot pass but if you replace the downpipe you will release more power just keep your uk centre section to save time and tears at mot time.
  22. Mats are just the same.the standard ones are ok with thick pile the drivers one has a hole in it which catches the plastic spike on the right if you still have it you can buy copy sti ones on ebay which are blue but the pile is thinner.
  23. Standard air boxes can be picked up cheap but remember 99 is diferent from earlier models damp shouldnt affect running your plugs should sort that good luck.
  24. If you think its a misfire coilpacks are the usual culprits on early models but from how you describe it it sounds like clutch judder give it some hard launches and test the clutch, coilpacks are more likely to break down at high boost.coilpacks can be inspected by peeling back the rubber and looking for cracks in the plastic.
  25. Hks induction kits are not generaly recomended due to the foam breaking up and getting sucked into the engine and maf sensor particularly on 99 my which are known for delicate mafs definately do not oil it as this also damages the maf better with a dry panel in a standard air box upto 350 bhp hope this helps.
