I am not in a position to comment on the actions of others, two vehicles admitedly traveling at excess speed one behind the other like you say you takes your chances if the parties concerned want to say more about it they can like i said one is a member i simply posted as a warning to anyone else to think about it before they possibly put themselves in the same position and leave themselves open to the same consequences.

I know we all like to give it some stick on our own private roads but a friend of mine has just been banned for a year for illegal road racing due to the fact that two of strathclydes finest were not entirely truthful.Driving on an empty road in the middle of the night they were spotted at a distance with no video evidence or otherwise it has certainly made me think twice about how i drive.the other party comes on here so i hope you get the judge in a better mood when you go back up.good luck.

Can be a bitch of a job probably better waiting till you change headers or turbo best gains by port matching uppipe with turbo, theres no cat in classic uppipe unlike new age so i wouldnt bother.
-
You have single handedly changed my opinion of newage imprezas stunning.

Could someone put my best up or tell me how to do it (technophobe)29 10 06 run 254 13.029 terminal 97.8 in a wagon standard tubo and air box got to ba a 12 when the turbo stops running out of puff. that was my only run since last round of mods and broke the gearbox as i crossed the line.
-
Craig....your time is safe for the now as my best out of the 3 runs was 12.95 @110mph....need to wait till next Crail Thrash on 4th March to challenge your time again. with a 110 terminal your times will be substantialy better were you bogging down?

Classic Downpipe - Recomended Headers -
diffbuster replied to Haribo1187's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Dont with a capital D buy cheap ones you will regret it, if possible avoid flexi joints i searched for equal length without a flexi and got them from america and still regreted it.Next remap its back to ported and polished standard manifold with a return to the burble gt or gruppe s seem to be highly recomended though. -
Dont do it looks better without even suburu thought it made the car look cheap looks better with nothing.

Maybe if the wife doesnt murder me for drooling over nelly furtado tonight.Does anyone fancy a full on sidc day on a non mag day when there aint so many corsas and chavs cant stand spending the day in the queue.

Exhaust to go on wagon... what else to do..???
diffbuster replied to boris b's topic in Scottish Scoobies
You wont need a remap as you still have cats you should change to a better panel filter k+n or green to make the most of better flow.Or better still change downpipe aswell. btw i thought prodrive bb had a single exit. -
Ask andy or his website but its usualy fuelpump and regulator to go with your decat and if your going to get a boost controler nows the time.just realised you have a cat back so i would lose one or all of them probably all.

Can you get a good classic type r for 9k ?
diffbuster replied to ksa-cossie's topic in Scottish Scoobies
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/115872.htm not the one i would buy, there were a couple of very low milage ones on pistonheads last week around that price you just have to keep looking a version 5 is probably worth waiting for and you will get one around that price.the one from that link is featured in japanese performance last month happy hunting. -
Shouldnt have mentioned the west yorkshire grade 5 car importers by name, all their cars only seem to come with one key i wouldnt suspect them of coming up here to nick a wrx they buy them for next to nothing anyway. I hope the guy gets his car back cause if hes only had it 24 hours it wont have had a cat one alarm fitted yet good luck to him.

Your cheapest options to make a difference may be a dawes device to up the boost but you could hit fuel/boost cut on a 93 most people fit a z5 ecu from a 96 or later to get round this so ask nicely if you can borrow one. methanol will also give you a good performance boost while protecting from det with the higher boost, another cheap way to save a tenth is a quickshift which will also make gearchanges cleaner and lesson the chance of missing a gear these are the cheap mods but can be removed easily when you sell the car.good luck.
-
Some methanol may be in order get some practice in first to get launch and tyre pressures right best you can hope for is mid 13s seen modded cossies in 12s check out times for the last fast ford day. you are definately in with a shout if his is standard.

What was everyone's first serious batch of mods ???
diffbuster replied to craig79's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Have a read at andy fs website tells you all you need to know and more.First thing to do is the breathing k+n panel or green cotton a cold air feed direct from air vent in the bumper can be as good as an induction kit then exhaust, fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. then you visitthe chap with the magic laptop. -
Closed deck blocks only come from sti or very early wrxs which were used for homologation purposes you can spot them from the hatching on the block, the r plate may be version 4 which i think is a phase1.5 engine there is a difference in gearbox coupling also early models only have 4 bolts heads and cams are different but look the same i would do plenty of research before buying cause im no expert.

Apologies, i am showing my ignorance its a classic i keep breaking didnt know newage cars dont have connectors.

ECU Diagnostics The ECU can diagnose any fault that may arise due to abnormal signals that are sent to the controller. The ECU Check Engine Light (CEL) will illuminate in the instrument console if there is a problem with any of the computers inputs. It is possible to find which sensor is faulty by following these steps: · Turn ignition OFF. · Connect read memory connectors. These are the small black connectors under the steering column above the pedals. · Turn ignition key to the ON position (Engine OFF) · Engine Check Light turns on · Code is indicated by Pulsing light - See below · If Code is OK Turn ignition OFF disconnect the black connectors · If CEL returns a number of different pulsing lights then check the ECU code table. · Turn ignition to the OFF position. Disconnect the black connectors. · If there is a fault, then check the appropriate sensor. The ECU codes are displayed as pulses of the CEL. If CEL goes out there is no fault. In Diagnostic Mode – No Fault is indicated by the CEL continuously & evenly flashing on/off (this is also used to indicate the successful completion of an ECU Reset) SEE "OK code" in diagram below. The long pulses (1.3 Seconds) indicate Tens and the short pulses (0.2 Seconds) indicate ones. Pulses are separated by Short Pauses (0.2 Seconds), multiple codes are separated by a Long Pause (1.8 Seconds) SEE "Trouble codes" in diagram & examples below. The simplest way for an inexperienced mechanic to retrieve codes is to write the codes down in a sort of Morse Code (dots and dashes), and start a new line when you get a 1.8 Second pause (for NEW code), and then add the actual numbers up after code retrieval is completed. Code ITEM 11 Crankshaft position sensor 12 Starter switch 13 Camshaft position sensor 21 Engine coolant temperature sensor 22 Knock sensor 23 Mass air flow sensor 24 Idle air control solenoid 31 Throttle position sensor 32 Oxygen sensor 33 Vehicle speed sensor 2 35 Purge control solenoid valve 42 Idle switch 44 Wastegate control solenoid valve 45 Pressure sensor – Pressure exchange solenoid valve 51 Neutral position switch once this is done you can reset the ecu if you want by connecting black and green conectos together turn the key to on position then press accelerator to the floor then halfway up for 2 seconds then start car then travel at a speed of over 5 MPh untill the ok code flashes "DO NOT RAGG THE CAR WHILST RESETTING Report abuse Quick Reply
