  1. to echo everyone elses comments - I start mine MY00 Turbo up and drive off straight away, taking it easy and never going above 3,000 rpm, after the water temperature has reached 'warm' I then leave it another 5 or 10 minutes before opening it fully (allowing for the oil to warm through). I usually take it easy on the last mile or 2 of mile journey and then leave her ticking over for a minute or so when I'm parked up. Just be sensible, one of my friends didn't used to move his car until the oil had reached operating temperature..............which I thought was stupid.
  2. I really appreciate you saying that about the Remap - I've always been slightly suspicious, especially at £600. I think they offer an EcuTek remap (with licence) for around £600. Thanks - roll on the service
  3. Excellent - I'm having her serviced at Zen Performance next month so I'll see if they can do this for me. Many thanks
  4. Thanks - would £1000 cover it? I like the idea of the decat it's the extra MOT hassle :-(
  5. I am running a MY00 Classic Turbo with a Prodrive backbox and some Prodrive piping under the bonnet (with a Bailey dump valve). I am planning to get her rolling roaded next year but assuming she is producing around 220-230bhp I would ideally like to raise this to a healthier 270-280bhp (which i'd hope for more usable power). Does anyone have any recommendations of what to do next and what sort of costs I could expect? Thanks in advance
  6. Running costs aside I have no complaints - the insurance is a killer but that is my fault for parking it on the road in London. Just had an 8 day blast around Europe and really enjoyed every moment - can't think of anything i'd change (I drive a MY00 Classic Turbo)
  7. I can't seem to find the right tyre pressures for my Impreza Turbo (2000, Classic) Just wondered if anyone knew (it's running standard 205/55/16) Thanks
  8. http://cars.uk.msn.com/Reviews/article.asp...umentid=6358705 Quite a good review
  9. It sounds lovely and you can hear the burble but it still doesn't look that great (IMHO)
  10. I'm running a standard setup on UK car so I'll throw some in; it's just the closest garage to me! Lazy I know
  11. Has anyone ever used it? I know it's on 97RON but I remember using Texaco in other cars and it loved it. My nearest Tesco fuel station has closed and my nearest Shell is charging well over £1 a litre. 96.9p for the Texaco....
  12. Had one of my stolen when the bonnet was keyed All courtesy of some kind souls on a Seafrance ferry
  13. Having just come back from the Ring I really wouldn't mind going on a UK track day. Are there any coming up in the South East? Thanks in advance
  14. I flick between Shell V Power & Tesco 99 - if I've got a 5p a litre off voucher than Tesco get my monies. Personally i'd avoid Sainsbury's 97 U/L - my MY00 just didn't seem to like it.
  15. I am liking the look of this more and more.... which I didn't think i'd ever say.
  16. I read these times and speeds and thought there must be a mistake too! Looks like I'll be keeping my Classic for a good while longer!! :-) Which I have to admit only pleases me.
  17. Hmmm, good advice - I'd rather wait by / with the car!
  18. I generally use Tesco 99 but a friend who has a Z4 claims that he gets far better economy than the Tesco 99. 26mpg Vs 30mpg with Shell? I bought some Shell V Power in Belgium and it said it was 95RON? I thought Europe-wide it was 100RON? I'm generally mixing the Tesco 99 and the Shell although for the first time ever tried the Shell Super - which seemed fine. My Classic doesn't like Sainsburys S/UL.
  19. Whilst on the ferry (en route to the Ring) my Classic got keyed along the bonnet. There were a bunch of drunken yobs on a booze cruise.......I cannot of course prove it happened on board or who it was. Does anyone know a good repair shop (or magician) to fix this at a reasonable price? I am happy to go to Northants or around London (South East). Has anyone suffered a similar plight on board a ferry? I was thinking of writing to SeaFrance as I have a feeling my car insurance isn't valid whilst the car is at sea? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks
  20. With FSH? I remember seeing them for around £10k a few months back
  21. Getting two new and the putting the fronts on the backs. Will look into the alignment
