  1. Oh really - that seals it - £25 more is worthwhile. worried how much a remap and HP fuel pump will kill the 25mpg....
  2. welcome, I have a UK MY00 Classic turbo 1. Roughly how much does it cost to do a service on a subaru per year. I'm happy doing minor service stuff (oil, filters) £200-£300 depending on services that are needed 2. What sort of miles per gallon can I realistically expect. I normally do a round trip of 30 miles. 90% motorway. (I know it depends on how you drive it, but let's say spirited but on motorway a steady 70.) 25-28 in my experience (although recent town work has forced me to see 16.7mpg) - worst case is 8mpg on the Ring but the smile outweighs any real downside. 3. How much do you guys roughly pay for a set of tyres and how often do you get through them. (I know it depends on how you drive it, but let's say spirited but on motorway a steady 70.) mine seem to last around 8,000 miles, I guess 12,000 isn't out of the question. My advice, replace all four at the same time or at least keep the brands/styles the same Buy one, you will love it.
  3. I need to buy a 225 fuel pump (for remapping) - is there any difference between the Walbro and unbranded 225 pumps? Just wondering if the extra £30 is just fluff or actually worth it? Thanks in advance
  4. They seem to have very keen pricing but no phone number and no reply to date from my emails? Just wondered if anyone had any experience of using them?
  5. I'm going for a full Hayward & Scott decat - less than £300 delivered and keeping my prodrive backbox.....just hoping it isn't too loud. I'll get her remapped in a month or 2 just so i get the full benefit.
  6. 108db! Surely it won't be that loud if I keep the standard prodrive backbox? That'll please the neighbours
  7. I'm looking at the stainless steel downpipe/centre pipe for my classic Impreza and the Afterburner range that Scoobyworld say that they are made by Hayward & Scott but the actual Hayward and Scott pipes are only about £15 more. Has anyone bought the Afterburner pipes? I have only ever heard good things about Hayward & Scott but just wondered if anyone had any experience with either? If I keep the bore at 2.5" but just decat will the noise only increase slightly (MY00 Turbo). Thanks in advance
  8. Thanks Rich - I'll just do that - save up for the remap later in the year.
  9. I'm getting my MY00 UK Turbo decatted or sports cat replacement in the next week or 2. How long can I leave it before I get it remapped? Can anyone recommend somewhere in the South (close to London) who could do it at the weekend? Many thanks
  10. That is amazing- thanks Stu I think you're right - grey is better than the black!
  11. Here she is - not the best photo! Many thanks http://ph.uncle-dave.co.uk/upload/images/Europa%20007.jpg
  12. I've got a Champagne silver classic with standard wheels on her. I'm thinking of getting them sprayed black or flint grey. Does anyone have any pictures of similar or ability to photoshop what they may look like? Thanks in advance
  13. Oh ok - I just didn't want to cause any damage by removing the cats and not remapping instantly. Looking for a new year bargain so I'll see what comes along. What is the standard bore of the centre pipe in case I replace the back box.
  14. Many thanks - so just decat and get the cat refitted (if needed) come MOT time? I was just thinking of doing the centre cat first just to spread out the cost! Thanks again
  15. I've got a UK MY00 Classic Turbo and thinking of decatting it. If I just remove the centre cat (with a straight through) will it still pass the MOT and will I need to get it remapped straight away? I was thinking of doing it in sections, cat replacement pipe for the centre cat and then replace the downpipe cat with a sports cat. Does anyone know of any cheaper resellers of these downpipe cats or is £300 as low as they go? Thanks in advance
  16. I have a MY00 Turbo Classic and I'm unsure of what to do about the servicing. The car does around 3-4,000 a year - it almost seems a waste to spend out every 6 months on the servicing?!? Given the value of these car now there is little point in just getting the stamp and surely an oil change every 12 months (4k) is enough? Does anyone have views on this? Thanks
  17. 101.8p in North Watford on Saturday But yup, it'll be heading back at a station near you soon!
  18. Thanks very much - I think I'll just start sourcing the parts, second hand where available and stop when I have A new fuel pump Downpipe sportcat Second cat replacement pipe and then go for the remap.. Thanks - lets hope I get it done before next June!
  19. After owning my classic for 18 months I finally got around to getting her rolling roaded yesterday, 210.3bhp. I am now keen to push on with a remap and a sports cat. I ideally need somewhere near to London or somewhere that is open at the weekend. I've used Zen for servicing in the past but I'm not sure if they remap at the weekend. Would £1k get these bits fitted? I've heard I could get around 260-270bhp? What would be the next sensible level? What would a £2k investment give me or should I just buy something with an STI engine in? Any help or advice much appreciated.
  20. I still haven't signed up for this yet, any ideas on how long it'll take / time slots? I am around in the morning on Sunday...... Mark
  21. Sounds lovely, makes me think I need to change my prodrive backbox for something meatier.
  22. Shell V Power or Tesco 99 if you don't live near a Shell.
  23. I know I know, new tyres are soon to be fitted, they will match too. I really didn't think i lifted, maybe I did a little. An hour later after the rain had gone, i couldn't shift the back end.
  24. Finally, I have proof Go about 1 minute 15 onwards............silver Subaru I should add, Dunlop SP Sport 9000 (6mm) at the front, Falkens at the rear (4mm). I know it was wet, but come on!
